Ellen Pompeo was apparently the guest of honour at this event, attending her first Armani Prive show.

Unfortunately despite having the pick of gowns, she chose this Armani Privé Fall 2007 strapless number, which on anyone else would have been great, but on Ellen, it was just too plain, too boring and not at all fitting her usual style, in others words, she played it safe.

The runway version of this dress had a beautiful mulit-coloured belt, which may have brighten up things here.

Dita Von Teese also opted for a Armani Privé Fall 2007 ensemble. Couture was really made for this woman.

Hilary Swank looks really out of place here. A usually polished and pristine Swank, is really disappointing in this Armani Fall 2006 dress. The mesh part of that dress just makes me shudder.

Mariska Hargitay wore Armani Spring 2007 which is a shame as some of the Prive Fall 2007 pieces would have looked fantastic on her.

I love the simple jewelery and the bare neck. Had she worn a necklace it would have looked too fussy with the ruffles.
