Hilary Rhoda In Markarian – 70th Parsons Benefit

Hilary Rhoda attended the 70th Parsons Benefit on Monday (May 21) in New York City, joining Kelela.

The bold bronze studs on this Markarian Fall 2018 gown had the potential to make a strong statement, but all I see is the white detail on the chest.

I would not be opposed to the idea of contrasting cups but the proportion and effect of the unadorned fabric don’t do anything for her and completely distract from everything else, including the too-long skirt.

Had the detail been moved to under the bust, it would have made a world of difference.

Hilary Rhoda In Markarian – 2017 Whitney Art Party

I was instantly drawn to Hilary Rhoda’s look from the 2017 Whitney Art Party on Tuesday (November 14) in New York City.

Firstly her Markarian Fall 2017 dress is brimming with festive cheer.

I adore the bold asymmetrical hem that brings about an edge and modern attitude which was an interesting change of pace for Hilary.

Plus I love the unique materials used to bring this look to life; making it a totally different piece we saw in the look book.

Alexandra O’Neill’s Markarian is an emerging brand who is receiving a lot of celebrity love right now.

Known for the oh-so-pretty, I love this cool twist.

2017 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards Red Carpet Roundup

The stylish ladies were out in full force at the 2017 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards on Monday (November 6) in Brooklyn, New York.

Sara Sampaio: The Portuguese model charmed in a J Mendel Resort 2018 mini. The short shape and blush colour were enlivened with feathered appliqués. The dusty neutral tones and simple styling allowed the texture to be appreciated without the bird connotations.

Karlie Kloss:
Striking a shimmering statement, the model donned a Christian Dior frock. The long sleeves and ankle-length hemline had a prim feel, but the geometric pattern and shimmering details added much allure.

Lauren Santo Domingo: Also in a feathered confection, the Moda Operandi cofounder was clad in Calvin Klein Fall 2017. Similar to Sara, the textured look had a sophisticated finish thanks to the blush-toned feathers but hers were accented with red and yellow. Given the lightness of the dress, I would have preferred a softer shoe without the black details. You may remember that Julianne Moore wore this same dress to the Met Gala.

11th Annual God’s Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards

Femmes came out in force for the 11th Annual God’s Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards on Monday (October 16) in New York City. As Michael Kors was one of the co-chairs, there were a number of looks from the designer in the house.

Gwyneth Paltrow: Receiving the Michael Kors Award for Outstanding Community Service, the minimalist-loving actress upped the shine quotient in her sparkly Michael Kors Collection Spring 2018 sequin frock—and even gave us a rare look at wavy locks. You may remember seeing this dress on the Red Carpet Wish List for Michelle Pfeiffer.

Gabrielle Union: This Michael Kors Collection Spring 2018 suiting offered up a safari-chic twist on the menswear-inspired trend.

Kate Hudson: Oozing with pure and simple seduction, this custom crimson beaded asymmetrical Michael Kors Collection dress was a knockout on Kate. She really didn’t even need the contrast of the Jimmy Choo ‘Candy’ clutch to accessorize, as I love the way her nude pumps vanished from view and left her dress to take top billing.

Harper’s BAZAAR Celebrates ‘ICONS By Carine Roitfeld’

The list of lovelies at Harper’s BAZAAR Celebrates ‘ICONS By Carine Roitfeld’ on Friday (September 8) in New York City was seemingly unending, as a number of stars joined Nicki Minaj, Selena Gomez, and Kim Kardashian.

Gigi Hadid: Her hyper-embellished Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2017 ensemble, styled with Lorraine Schwartz jewels, was so intricate and powerful of a statement that it really didn’t require the rhinestone clogs.

Kaia Gerber: Cindy Crawford’s model daughter was all grown up in a slinky Kristian Aadnevik Fall 2017 mini that had her looking like her mom more and more.

Kendall Jenner: There was little left to the imagination in this Dolce & Gabbana ruched, sheer number. Yet, ironically in spite of the see-through, I couldn’t help but still get a certain sophisticated, glam vibe with the look, which I will chalk up to its silhouette along with Kendall’s Old-Hollywood waves, Lorraine Schwartz jewels, and Jimmy Choo sandals.
