2014 Whitney Gala

2014 Whitney Gala

The 2014 Whitney Gala presented by Louis Vuitton was at The Breuer Building on Wednesday (November 19) in New York City.

Riley Keough: The actress selected a look from Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2015 collection. Just when I was starting to get fatigued by the collection, Riley selected one of the yet-to-be-worn pieces featuring mesh sleeves and a fur-trimmed placket. Knee-high boots replaced the booties, with the must-have Louis Vuitton Petite-Malle clutch rounding out this look.

Hilary Rhoda: The model looked simply stunning wearing a Pamella Roland Pre-Fall 2014 strapless gold embellishment gown which would look good at any time, but especially during the festive season. As if the gown didn’t glisten enough, she styled her look with a pair of dangerous-looking spiked earrings.

Padma Lakshmi: Looking as glamorous as ever, the TV Chef host never puts a foot wrong. Wearing a simple cream gown accented with appliqués, she added just a cuff and silver earrings to enhance this look. Makeup-wise she opted for a nude lip with smoky eyes for an altogether different look.

God’s Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards Gala

God’s Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards Gala

Here is a look at the rest of the ladies who joined Blake Lively on the red carpet for the 2014 God’s Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards hosted by Michael Kors at Spring Studios on Thursday (October 16) in New York City.

Anna Wintour: The editor-in-chief of American Vogue was honoured at the event with the Outstanding Community Service Award. Wearing a very familiar silhouette, Anna wore an indigo sheath dress with lilac embroidery from the Spring 2015 collection, which she of course styled with her favourite Manolo Blahnik kitten heels and beaded necklace.

Halle Berry: Anna was stood alongside Halle Berry, who looks as gorgeous as ever showing off her body in an optic-white and indigo-trimmed dress from the Michael Kors Spring 2015 collection. I’m so very glad that she didn’t opt for her favoured black on this occasion. While I usually prefer Halle with a pixie cut, I’m loving this new highlighted bob style on her.

Jaime King: Having worn a blooming frock the day before, Jaime selected a sultry daffodil-hued cut-out dress from the Michael Kors Spring 2015 collection. Achingly cool, ultra-modern and stylish, as we would expect from Jaime, the look was accessorized with Jennifer Fisher jewels, gold python ‘Doris’ sandals and a gold python ‘Leyla’ clutch from the same collection.

Harper’s BAZAAR Celebrates Icons By Carine Roitfeld Carpet Roundup

Harper's BAZAAR Celebrates Icons By Carine Roitfeld Carpet Roundup

The stars came out for the Harper’s Bazaar Celebrates Icons by Carine Roitfeld event held at The Plaza Hotel in New York City on September 5.

Lily Aldridge: Wearing a red velvet pantsuit from Emilio Pucci’s Fall 2014 collection with an orange, v-neck blouse, Lily shows us mortals how models do fashion. The mix of textures and bright color-blocking are oh-so-chic, while the simple gold accessories and Lily’s barely there makeup and slightly tousled hair complete the ‘models-do-it-better’ effect.

Crystal Renn: Taking a very different approach to the event, Crystal Renn is all about the drama in a gray satin mermaid-shaped Zac Posen gown with matching cape and striking Lorraine Schwartz jewels. To complete the high-fashion, high-drama look, Crystal’s bold brows, deep plum lips and pinned back retro-inspired hair are a stark contrast with her lack of eye makeup.

2014 Young Friends Of ACRIA Summer Soiree

2014 Young Friends Of ACRIA Summer Soiree

The 2014 Young Friends Of ACRIA Summer Soiree, held at Highline Stages on Wednesday (June 11) in New York City, turned into something of a Jason Wu mini fashion show, with several of the attendees wearing pieces from his Spring, Fall and Pre-Fall 2014 collections.

Jaime King: Wearing her second Jason Wu Fall 2014 look in so many days, the actress wore a taupe two-piece featuring a high-neckline sweater with a silk draped calf-length skirt, to which she attempted to add a touch of summer via the white pumps. While this is a great look, I think Jaime needed to re-read the invite, as it was entitled ‘summer’ soiree. Jennifer Fisher jewelry completed her look.

Hilary Rhoda: Always the picture of perfection, the model wore a shimmering Jason Wu Spring 2014 bias-cut white calf-length frock, styled to perfection with silver Jimmy Choo accessories including a ‘Candy’ clutch and the celebrity favourite ‘Lance’ sandals, recently upstaged by the Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals.

Adriana Lima: The model opted for a super-slinky gown from Jason Wu’s Spring 2014 collection. The bias-cut red-carpet-worthy piece enriched with a myriad of shimmering beads also featured a sexy thigh-high slit. Styled with black sandals and Jennifer Fisher jewelry, she completed her look with a slicked-back ponytail and kohl-rimmed eyes.

Karen Elson: Asymmetrical florals and polka dots were favoured by the model, who donned a Jason Wu dress from the Pre-Fall 2014 collection with ruffles and a draped shoulder.

Best Dressed Of The Week – Coco Rocha in Christian Siriano & Hilary Rhoda in J. Mendel

BDOTW 9 June

Coco Rocha was your best dressed this week, donning a Christian Siriano Resort 2014 gown with a Heather-Huey-designed hat.

My pick was Hilary Rhoda. She can pretty much do no wrong on the red carpet, and wearing one of my favourite looks from J. Mendel’s Spring 2014 collection was one sure-fire way to seal this win.

David Gandy was your favourite fella to take the red carpet last week, looking dapper as always in his three-piece suit, while Zachary Levi’s two-tone Vivienne Westwood Man suit stood out for me.

2014 CFDA Fashion Awards Models Roundup

CFDA 1

Amid the crush of starlets and designers at the 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday (June 2), the models definitely had their moment, too. They strutted out a range of dazzling, directional and sometimes daring looks at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall in New York City.

Joan Smalls: Putting her statuesque height to good use, Joan worked her midnight-navy Prabal Gurung draped, cutout gown to sexy effect also flaunting an Angelina leg through the thigh-high slit. She styled the look with metallic ankle-tie sandals and a mod fringe bang, but the gold choker necklace was unnecessary here.

Alessandra Ambrosio
: The Victoria’s Secret cat-walker took a red-hot approach in a Nonoo strapless gown featuring a structured bodice with a crossover ribbon tie at the back. She accessorized with Jennifer Fisher jewels, including a sharp, diamond-pointed pair of earrings.
