Red Carpet Fashion Awards

H&M hosted a party in New York City to celebrate their Maison Martin Margiela collaboration on Tuesday evening.

Mena Suvari: Despite not being a fan of Mena’s trompe l’oeil bodysuit, she’s totally working this look, as per. She styled the look with a navy ‘Hitched Up’ skirt, tan wedges with a Perspex heel and a giant silver metallic candy wrapper clutch (a must-have from this collection). She was my favourite at this event.

Leigh Lezark: I’m not surprised that the DJ picked the most colourful and difficult-to-wear piece from the Maison Martin Margiela for H&M collection. She’s never one to fade into the background. The look includes a colourful printed-scarves top and skirt. She opted for the wedges in black.

Selma Blair: The actress wore the black version of the ‘Horizontally Worn’ dress with black wedges. I love how she styled the look with the china bumps and red lip colour, but I prefer the blue version of this dress which appears in the lookbook.

Julianne Moore: A simple black Maison Martin Margiela for H&M suit with peaked shoulders look super chic on Julianne.

Sarah Jessica Parker: The actress looked like an Olsen twin engulfed with so many layers and an oversized blazer.

Helena Christensen: The supermodel makes this £179.99 leather ‘Car Seat Cover’ dress look even more expensive. She styled her look with all black accessories.

There was plenty more eye candy to be had at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival Vanity Fair Party in New York City, which was held at the State Supreme Courthouse on Tuesday night.

Helena Christensen: The supermodel wore a charming Marc by Marc Jacobs ‘Palmetto’ eyelet dress which was a fun, flirty and unexpected look for this occasion. White peep-toes with a pink base, a gold clutch and chic updo completed the look.

Jessica White: The model wore a stunning Abed Mahfouz sleeveless gown with a thigh-high split, lace bodice and draped skirt. With her hair tied back into a neat ponytail she completed the look with red embellished sandals and Jeffrey Rackover jewelry.

Ivanka Trump: The New Yorker, who does chic like no other, wore a Carolina Herrera Spring 2012 dress. The stripe print silk chiffon dress with geometric lace inserts and a red patent leather hinge belt was styled with a grey ostrich clutch, black pumps with a mesh panel, onyx drop earrings and deep red lip colour.

Wendi Murdoch: The businesswoman wore an Alberta Ferretti Spring 2012 part knit, part crochet colourful dress. She didn’t rely on her amazing dress to do all the work, as she added a red clutch and the same Giuseppe Zanotti sandals Scarlett Johansson wore to ‘The Avenger’ LA premiere, but in baby blue.

Tory Burch: The designer wore a Christian Dior Resort 2012 tri-colour dress with black pumps. You may recall that Emma Stone wore the same dress to the 2011 Teen Choice Awards.

Lily Cole: With so many beautiful women wearing amazing looks on this red carpet Lily very much let the side down. I’m not so much disappointed by her beige and blue sack-of-a-dress, but more her battered ballet flats.

Helena Christensen attended the Swarovski Crystallized Unsigned Model Search event in London yesterday.

She’s the latest celebrity to try to make this Stella McCartney Spring 2012 collection work on the red carpet after the latest failure hit the red carpet on Wednesday evening courtesy of Laura Whitmore.

I tried to like this look, but I just can’t get on board with the black embroidered hemline which was incorporated into many pieces within this collection.

Why Stella? Why?

The striped tights are an interesting touch, but between the hemline and the beige pumps it’s yet another no from me despite this being the best of the bunch.

What say you?

Emma Roberts: I was very excited to see Emma at this event, mostly because she’s wearing strappy sandals sans tights. Her electric-blue shoes were paired with a Versace for H&M floral-print bustier and matching leggings. A studded bag and side-swept curls completed her look.

Jessica Alba: The actress added a pop of colour to her lips whilst donning a sparkling Versace for H&M top and skirt. Still not feeing Jess at the moment.

Selma Blair: The mother of one wore a bubblegum-pink Versace for H&M studded dress with gold sandals. I don’t think the racoon eyes quite work with the dress.

Kaylee DeFer: The ‘Gossip Girl’ actress is hardly recognisable with those super-tight curls. She wore Versace for H&M pink sandals with her sweetheart-print Versace for H&M dress with fringed details.

TV host Kelly Ripa was the first to wear this cute nude lace Stella McCartney dress when she visited the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City for her appearance on the “Late Show With David Letterman” last month.

During the last 6 weeks 3 other celebs have worn this dress including Sarah Jessica Parker.

She wore the same dress two days after Kelly to “Bravo’s 2010 Upfront Party” in New York.

Not that you can see much of the dress under her white blazer, gazillion necklaces and that very distracting black bag.

Tatyana Ali let her dress do the talking, when she arrived at the “Mother And Child” LA premiere earlier this week.

Her look was simply paired with open toe ankle strap sandals.

Supermodel Helena Christensen also wore this dress this week when she attended the 8th Annual Can-Do Awards Dinner in New York.

She also didn’t over accessorize, she only added a Chanel purse and ruby ankle strap pumps.

They all look fabulous in this dress.

Tatyana wins for me as she’s the only one who didn’t distract me with accessories.

This dress is available to purchase in white from Net-A-Porter US and Net-A-Porter International
