Best Dressed Of The Week – Helen Mirren In Dolce & Gabbana and Eva Mendes In Free People

Helen Mirren was a clear winner for you this week.

The evergreen actress managed to work this youthful Dolce & Gabbana animal print dress with a leather biker jacket with making it look too contrived.

Helen rarely gets it wrong on the red carpet and on this occasion she outshone Katy Perry who’s 40 years younger than the Great Dame.

Whilst I wanted to pick one of the Couture gowns we saw this week on the red carpet, I fell head over heels with Eva Mendes’ look.

With our gorgeous weather in London – minus the Saturday evening showers – this Free People floral short sleeve dress puts me in the perfect mood for summer.

Easy, breezy, beautiful.

Helen Mirren In Dolce & Gabbana – “Arthur” London Premiere

The “Arthur” London Premiere took place tonight at the Cineworld 02 Arena.

As you know I’m a sucker for animal print and Dame Helen Mirren, so I’m totally in love with her look.

The Grand Dame wore a Dolce & Gabbana animal print strapless maxi dress which was perfect for a sunny day in the capital.

Her biker leather jacket which also has an animal print lining was a fun addition to her look.

Without a hint of try hard, Helen oozes sophistication no matter what she wears.

A black clutch, a safety pin necklace and diamond earrings completed her look.

This is definitely a BDOTW contender.

Helen Mirren In Lanvin – “Arthur” New York Premiere

Dame Helen Mirren lit up the red carpet at the Ziegfeld Theatre for the New York Premiere of her new movie, “Arthur.”

The Brit actress opted for yet another Lanvin look, this time from the Resort 2011 collection.

Her look included a cream silk tuxedo blouse with pearl buttons, which she paired with an ecru taffeta skirt which was accented with a grey grosgrain sash tied to the waist.

Complementary Lanvin accessories included a ‘Popla’ eggshell leather clutch and a pearl-crystal-tulle bib necklace.

Shimmering pink lips, a grey shawl and pear-shaped earrings completed the great Dame’s look.

Helen Mirren In Alberta Ferretti – 2011 CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards

Dame Helen Mirren also attended the 2011 CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards in Las Vegas last night, where she picked up the “Career Achievement Award.”

This is her second beautiful dress of the week. She’s on a continual roll.

The British actress opted to wear a light pink Alberta Ferretti chiffon dress with a matching shawl.

I love her complementary accessories which included a Lanvin stitched satin ‘Ouloulette’ clutch and Sergio Rossi heels.

I did a close up to identify her heels and I can also confirm the grand Dame is wearing tights.

If she can go nude there are no excuses for wearing thick opaque tights on the red carpet :)

I love this and her Lanvin look.

Which would you like to see up for BDOTW?

Helen Mirren In Lanvin – Hand And Footprint Ceremony

Dame Helen Mirren was honored with a hand and footprint ceremony at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood yesterday.

The evergreen 65 year old British actress never gets her look wrong on the red carpet.

She doesn’t get it wrong off the red carpet either, if you remember those fabulous pictures of her in a red bikini 2 years ago.

On this occasion she opted for a chic navy blue Lanvin twill robe dress from the Spring 2011 collection. It looks just as fabulous on her, as it does on Anja.

I love the side zipper. Sometimes they can bring down a look, but it works on this occasion.

The grand dame completed her look with a navy belt, a gold cuff and Ferragamo silver heels.

Class and elegance personified.

Long may she continue to reign.

2011 Oscars Round-Up

Helen Mirren wore a one of a kind gunmetal grey Vivienne Westwood Couture gown to the 2011 Oscars last night.

I love the puffy sleeve detail, the square neckline and matching satin clutch.

Cartier jewels completed her look.

Sharon Stone was of course in Dior.

The red carpet wild card was surprisingly subdued. Her black silk crepe one shoulder gown with ostrich feather detail was a great look for her.

Usually she heads to the worst dress list without passing Go and without collecting 200, but she looks fabulous here.

Celine Dion looked stunning wearing a Giorgio Armani Privé evening gown with a plunging neckline and bold shoulders. I love the silhouette.

She dazzled with Van Cleef & Arpels diamonds.Read More…
