Helen Mirren In Reem Acra – AARP’s 17th Annual Movies For Grownups Awards

Helen Mirren was also at AARP’s 17th Annual Movies For Grownups Awards, joining Saoirse Ronan.

The ageless star was on hand to accept the Career Achievement award.

For the occasion, she donned a Reem Acra Resort 2018 streamlined design that offered a fresh approach to a long gown with its colour-block appeal.

I like the flash of metallic silver paneling for another dose of modernity to the look.

Helen Mirren In Valentino & Alice + Olivia – ‘The Leisure Seeker’ New York Screening & SiriusXM

Helen Mirren has been busy promoting ‘The Leisure Seeker,’ first attending the New York screening on Thursday (January 11) then paying a visit to SiriusXM on Friday (January 12).

‘The Leisure Seeker’ New York Screening: This Valentino Resort 2018 gown might cover up her enviable figure, but the silver embellishment enhances her shape in a dynamic, surrealist way. A Judith Leiber clutch and Valentino heels finished things off.

SiriusXM: Many are fatigued with the sheer trend, but perhaps they will feel differently when they see the legendary actress doing it. The Alice + Olivia Resort 2018 skirt was previously worn by Olivia Wilde. Helen gave the feminism-promoting style an edgy spin with the motorcycle jacket and boots and an unexpected pop of pink. I could see her wearing the entire lookbook version, but I am so glad she went in this direction. It’s cool and chic.

Dame Helen Mirren In Prabal Gurung – ‘The Leisure Seeker’ LA Premiere

Dame Helen Mirren graced the red carpet at ‘The Leisure Seeker’ LA premiere on Tuesday (January 9).

The actress is known for pulling off fashion trends with grace and ease. This time, she looked resplendent in a Prabal Gurung Fall 2017 look.

If you’re experiencing a sense of déjà vu, it was previously worn by Laura Haddock and Nina Dobrev.

Each put their own interpretations on the look. In this case, Helen’s delicate bow belt enhanced the charm of the ruffles while showcasing her figure.

The black clutch and jewellery created a harmonious finish.

Weekend Red Carpet Roundup

It was a fashion-filled weekend with many stylish stars stepping out on the red carpet.

Kate Mara: I must say, I’ve enjoyed the actress’s recent tailored looks. She continued her fashion reign in Christian Siriano at the 2017 Humane Society Of The United States To The Rescue! event on Friday (November 10). The rich green fabric of the slim suit was contrasted beautifully with the Jimmy Choo ‘Kerry’ sandals and pink Tyler Ellis bag.

Alison Brie: I almost did not recognize the actress at the ‘The Disaster Artist’ AFI Fest screening on Sunday (November 12). Her Marc Jacobs dress combined with the soft curls had a charming retro feel. It had a Betty Boop quality to it with the sweet bow detail and frill on the bodice contrasting the black belt and platform ankle-strap pumps.

Zoe Saldana: There were a myriad of looks at the Baby2Baby Gala on Saturday (November 11). The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ actress looked regal in this black gown with suiting elements. The large notched collar framed her face. But, it was the undone skirt which opened to reveal her delicate sandals that made it.

Helen Mirren In Sassi Holford – The Leisure Seeker (Ella & John) Venice Film Festival Premiere

Dame Helen Mirren graced Venice Film Festival with her regal presence on Sunday (September 3).

Photocall: Ordinarily a top-handle bag would feel too much for a photocall, but methinks she said to herself, “what would her majesty do?” then opted for the Dolce & Gabanna ‘Monica’ bag which coordinated effortlessly with her fancy, floral frock.

Premiere: The British actress joined her co-star Donald Sutherland and Susan Sarandon for the premiere, opting for a more sedate approach to red carpet dressing in Sassi Holford. Sadly, I really dislike the gown. It does nothing to enhance her beauty, it feels really dated and the quality of the material is questionable. She can do so much better.

Helen Mirren In Needle & Thread – BFI Chairman’s Dinner

Helen Mirren attended the annual BFI Chairman’s Dinner honouring Peter Morgan on Tuesday (February 21) in London.

I was swept off my feet by her rare romantic, fairy-tale choice from Needle & Thread.

For someone who is often daring and sultry, the mood is distantly ethereal on this occasion, with the floral embellishments giving this piece a slight vintage feel.
