Women In Film Pre-Oscar Cocktail Party Red Carpet Roundup

With the A-list in town, the Women in Film pre-Oscar cocktail party was one of the most star-studded events on yesterday’s schedule (February 28). Here’s a little round-up of who joined Lupita Nyong’o and Jaime King on the red carpet:

Helen Mirren: Forever flawless Helen Mirren played host for the evening wearing a Max Mara ivory mini v-neck top and skirt. While the thick tights look a little too wintery, Helen looked suitably chic and demure.

Mandy Moore: Opting for a timelessly elegant monochrome look, Mandy Moore dazzled in a Max Mara cream shawl collar jacket and structured black jumpsuit. A beaded monochrome clutch may have been matchy-matchy choice but here it works. While I think the hems of the jumpsuit could have done with being an inch shorter, this look is classic Mandy; stylish, approachable and understatedly lust worthy.

Lake Bell: Making a head-turning appearance in top-to-toe silver, Lake Bell made a surprising choice last night in an unstructured Max Mara silver three-quarter sleeve dress. I’m used to seeing Lake in such tailored, figure-hugging, sexy pieces that this came as quite as a surprise. High-shine metallic sandals and matching clutch made for a unique red carpet turn that certainly offers something different to the mix. What do you think of this look for Lake?

Helen Mirren In Jacques Azagury - 2014 BAFTAs

Helen Mirren collected the BAFTA Fellowship Award at the 2014 BAFTAs on Sunday (February 16) held at The Royal Opera House in London, England.

The grand dame looked flawless, as expected, wearing a navy cascading tulle Jacques Azagury gown with a heavily embellished bodice and sleeves.

Asprey London earrings and a silver clutch were the perfect way to style this regal look.

Long live the queen.

Helen Mirren In Jenny Packham - 2014 Directors Guild Of America Awards

Helen Mirren lit up the red carpet once again for the 66th Annual Directors Guild of America Awards on Saturday evening (January 25) held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza, California joining Sandra Bullock,  Anna Kendrick and Sarah Paulson.

The great Dame wore a Jenny Packham Fall 2013 long-sleeve ink tulle and silk satin gown with floral crystal embellishments styled with a bright-blue Rauwolf clutch and sapphire Neil Lane jewels.

Both her shimmering eye makeup and her nail polish also got the regal-blue treatment.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again: flawless.

Helen Mirren In Elie Saab Couture - 2014 Producers Guild of America Awards

Dame Helen Mirren joined Lupita Nyong’o on the red carpet for the 25th annual Producers Guild of America Awards at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday (January 19) in Beverly Hills, California following her SAG Awards win on Saturday.

If you have been missing a bit of sparkle and magic from the red carpet king this awards season, Helen’s Elie Saab Fall 2013 Couture nude gown with embellishment on the sleeves and bodice which cascades onto the skirt should pep you up.

How she consistently looks glamorous and sexy at 68 years old, putting girls half her age to shame, is a secret she needs to bottle and sell.

A Swarovski white satin ‘Nirvana Star’ clutch and Neil Lane jewels accessorized the look, with a hot-pink lip and asymmetrical ‘do rounding out her look.

Helen Mirren In Escada - 2014 SAG Awards

Dame Helen Mirren showed up women half her age at the 2014 SAG Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on Saturday (January 18) in Los Angeles.

The ‘Phil Spector’ actress, who won for Outstanding Actress in a film or miniseries, wore an exquisite Escada Pre-Fall 2014 gown with a Jimmy Choo clutch, Dolce and Gabbana shoes and Neil Lane jewelry.

Helen has mastered the art of looking both seductive and age appropriate, which is no small feat at the age of 68. The incredibly unique beading and embroidery is of course the highlight of the gown but the wide sash, voluminous skirt and illusion sleeves all contribute to the perfection.

Slicked back hair, which has been trending this season, shows off Helen’s black and gold chandelier earrings and a red lip pulls the whole thing together.

Dame Helen looked positively regal. Another best-dressed nominee.

Helen Mirren attended the 2014 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 12), hosted at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in California.

Always a red carpet pro, Helen Mirren donned a design by Jenny Packham bespoke.

The ‘Phil Spector’-nominated actress chose a spring-like shade of green, which looked lovely on her. The beaded, long-sleeved gown had slight draping and ruching that showed off Helen’s curves and tiny waist.

The actress upped the ante with her red carpet style with a Roger Vivier Maxi Boite de Nuit Fleur clutch and emerald and diamond jewels from Bulgari.

Helen Mirren In Dennis Basso - 'Red 2' Tokyo Premiere

Helen Mirren attended the ‘Red 2′ premiere held at the Tokyo International Forum on Sunday in Tokyo, Japan.

The British actress always looks very regal and elegant, and of course this was no exception.

Helen wore a Dennis Basso Fall 2013 long-sleeved taffeta plaid dress with scattered embroidery.

At first I wasn’t sure about the Vickisarge ‘Beatrix’ gold-plated multi-stone necklace, but then I realised that the necklace itself isn’t overkill: it’s perhaps the necklace and the earrings. Helen should’ve gone for one or the other.

Gold Gina shoes and a diamante clutch by the same designer completed her look.

Should Helen have taken one thing off?
