Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Paula Patton In Stephane Rolland Couture - 2014 Golden Glove Awards

Paula Patton undoubtedly turned a few heads, as she took to the red carpet at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards, hosted at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday (January 12).

The actress left no ruffle unturned in her Stéphane Rolland Spring 2013 Couture winter-white design, which she matched with Charlotte Olympia platform pumps,

The long, body-con gown skimmed across her sleek physique, yet featured an embarrassment of flounces that rippled down the left side.

While such an artsy, avant-garde dress, there was no need for additional oomph. But Paula nonetheless piled on a few more statement pieces in the form of sizable diamond and gemstone earrings and a doorknocker cocktail ring.

Donning such a daringly accented dress was nothing if not bold. But did the risk pay off?

Elsa Pataky In Paule Ka & Chris Hemsworth In Dolce & Gabbana - 2014 Golden Globe Awards 2

What’s better than one red carpet beauty? Two beauties. Or in this case, stylish couple Elsa Pataky and Chris Hemsworth, who attended the 2014 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 12) at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

Elsa Pataky: The ‘Wine of Summer’ actress wore a dress by Paule Ka. There seemed to be a trend of halter necklines on the red carpet, and Elsa joined the ranks with a gem-encrusted geometric version that looked modern and fresh. She punctuated her black column gown with sleek, side swept locks and glowy, dewy makeup.

Chris Hemsworth: Always a stylish gentleman, the ‘Thor: The Dark World’ star wore a traditional black tux with some added interest pieces for his walk on the red carpet. Chris topped his tux with a blue velvet jacket, all by Dolce & Gabbana, and sapphire and pearl cufflinks set in white gold by Martin Katz.

Rashida Jones In Fausto Puglisi - 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Rashida Jones was also at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday (January 12).

The ‘Parks and Recreation’ star took a whimsical approach to the evening in a Fausto Puglisi Spring 2014 creamy-white gown, stitched with the most glamorous palm trees ever—being as they were outlined in crystal and metallic-gold paillettes.

Slit thigh-high, the dress was accented with a black skinny belt, a colour which obviously informed her choice of black Brian Atwood ‘Tribeca’ platform sandals, instead of the runway’s dynamic pair of sky-blue heels.

Still, she embellished the dress with other fun accents, including Ana Khouri Patricia pearl ear cuffs, a gold and diamond Stem ring and a black diamond triple Lucky ring, finishing the look with a top knot and a deep berry lip.

Amy Adams graced the red carpet at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 12) in Beverly Hills, California.

Amy, who was nominated for her role in ‘American Hustle’ wore a gown by Valentino Haute Couture from the Shanghai collection. And despite the Asian influence of the design, Amy’s dress seemed very reminiscent of the 70’s era in which ‘American Hustle’ is set. Maybe she felt some fashion crossover with her character.

The two different hues of red felt modern compared to the traditional red bombshell-style dresses normally seen on the red carpet. Amy’s gown was a mix of sex appeal–hello, plunging neckline!–and ladylike, thanks to the soft demure skirt.

The actress accessorized wisely with Brian Atwood shoes, a long gold chain pendant necklace, and diamond drop earrings.

This is a bit of a departure from Amy’s typical red carpet style. Do you like the change?

Berenice Bejo In Giambattista Valli Couture - 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Bérénice Bejo was another lady-in-red at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday (January 12).

She didn’t shy away from the drama in her crimson-hued Giambattista Valli Fall 2013 Couture confection.

Despite the powerfully potent colour, the rest of the gown just seemed to be overwhelming on the petite actress—from the bold shoulder to the flurry of floral-like embellishment, even the diaphanous long train.

Perhaps the added lining of the skirt, which was not seen on the runway, was the root of the heaviness here.

Likewise, she certainly didn’t require as many pieces from the Dior Fine Jewelry collection, despite how stunning they were. The hoop earrings needed to disappear.

While I appreciated the artistry of the gown, I couldn’t shake the fact that it seemed to detract rather than enhance Bérénice’s natural beauty. The dress ultimately seemed to be wearing her. What do you think?

Heidi Klum In Marchesa - 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Heidi Klum was among the many stars to walk the red carpet of the 2014 Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles this evening (January 12).

The supermodel wore a gauzy black and white Marchesa gown from the designer’s Spring 2014 collection, a Marchesa clutch and Christian Louboutin ‘Gwynitta’ sandals.

I’m honestly disappointed here. By shortening the lining of the dress and raising the belt up to create an empire waist, Heidi has seriously diminished the romantic quality this gown had on the runway.

The necklace is also completely out of place.

On a positive note, I like seeing Heidi mix things up from her normal tightly pulled updo and she wears the thick fringe quite well.
