Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Li Bingbing arrived on the red carpet at the 2012 Oscars with good friend Wendi Murdoch.

The Asian actress looked stunning wearing a Georges Chakra white gown.

Her on-trend strapless gown was teamed with Cindy Chao 18kt white gold, pave diamond Maple Leaf
Earrings and 18kt yellow gold, pave yellow and white diamond Flaming Floral Ruby cuff.

Lana Marks clutch completed her look.

I may change my mind in the morning, but Gwyneth Paltrow was my best dressed on the red carpet tonight at the 2012 Oscars, held in Hollywood this evening.

She opted to wear a Tom Ford white dress with a uber chic cape which was recently presented at part of this ‘top secret’ Fall 2012 collection.

The designer has been waiting for a major Oscar moment since he launched his womenswear collection, and here we finally have it.

My first reaction to this was, “thank god it’s not another gold shimmering Calvin Klein bland column dress”, because lord knows she’s done that look to death.

A chic ponytail, barely-there makeup and silver jewels completed her look.

Angelina Jolie was showing so much leg on the red carpet at the 2012 Oscars, I had question whether she had been possessed by Megan Fox and Blake Lively.

I have never seen Angelina work a gown this hard.

Donatella will be happy to see the normally stoic actress showcase this beautiful Atelier Versace gown to its full potential, but at times it was too much.

I mean she’s practically doing the splits. Even Blake Lively would be horrified.

Her black custom-made strapless Atelier Versace velvet gown with a thigh-high split was teamed with Salvatore Ferragamo custom-made black velvet peep toe pumps.

When you are Angelina Jolie, everyone is willing to custom something to your requirements, even if it is yet another black gown.

Cameron Diaz joined Jennifer Lopez to present ‘Best Costume Design’ and ‘Best Makeup’ at the 2012 Oscars, held in Hollywood this evening.

The actress wore a Gucci Première strapless pale nude silk evening gown which features a full skirt of chiffon plissé layers embroidered with nude and silver glass bugle beads and silver fringing.

Cammy styled her sleek bob, which many you still don’t favour, with a deep side parting and sweeping bangs.

A fringed clutch, Salvatore Ferragamo blush satin peep toe pumps and simple diamond necklace complete the look.

The simplicity of the bodice paired with such a beautifully embellished full skirt puts Cameron on my list as one of the best dressed of the night.

Kate Mara supported her ‘Best Actress’ nominated sister, Rooney Mara, at the 2012 Oscars in Hollywood this evening.

While Rooney defines minimalist chic, Kate looks every bit as ladylike, in a pink Jack Guisso Couture Spring 2012 gown with floral appliqués.

The sparkling dress features one draped sleeves, which adds to the romanticism of the look, while a thin, white belt is an unexpected, but welcome touch.

Soft waves pulled back with a crystal pin and subtle makeup completes the look.

You’d be forgiven if you thought this was Elie Saab.

Jennifer Lopez was one of the presenters on the night at the 2012 Oscars, held in Hollywood this evening.

The ‘American Idol’ judge wore a Zuhair Murad gown.

This nude silk tulle gown with transparent crystal beading, a plunging neckline and cut-out sleeves was custom-made for JLO, so why am I just not feeling it?

JLo and Zuhair have created some great red carpet moments in the past – most memorably the 2010 Met Gala and the 2011 American Music Awards – so why this is look just OK?

Where is the drama?

This is nice, but tame by Jennifer’s standards.

A Salvatore Ferragamo silver mirrored minaudiere from the Resort 2012 Collection completed her look.
