Greta Gerwig In Bottega Veneta – 2018 SAG Awards

Greta Gerwig was one of the beauties at the 2018 SAG Awards on Sunday (January 21) at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.

The ‘Lady Bird’ director looked sharp in an ochre yellow Bottega Veneta Spring 2018 gown.

The heavy surface embellishment has a tougher feel than some of the more whimsical looks she has donned of late, but she carries it off with aplomb.

The details are what make this feel special, namely, the cut-out on the back, the multicoloured Irene Neuwirth earrings and the fuchsia lipstick.

Greta Gerwig In Monse – 2018 Producers Guild Awards

Greta Gerwig attended the 2018 Producers Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday (January 20).

The actress and director wore a deep emerald Monse gown from the Pre-Fall 2018 collection accompanied with a Roger Vivier ‘Cigarette’ bag.

While I simply adore this color, and appreciate that this gown fits perfectly into Greta’s personal aesthetic, I’m just not 100% sold on it. I actually really like the asymmetrical seaming, which adds some fun visual interest, but I think it’s the combination of it with the ruched sleeves and the shoulder cut-outs that just makes it all too much for me.

What do you think? Are on board, or questioning the look?

Greta Gerwig In Proenza Schouler – 43rd Annual Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards

Greta Gerwig attended the 43rd Annual Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards on Saturday (January 13).

After a whimsical white ensemble at the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards, the ‘Lady Bird’ director went for a darker mood in Proenza Schouler.

There is a sultry retro charm about the outfit that feels very authentic to her style.

The graphic floral print is the focal point, but it’s the details that make this special. The sliced waist with ribbon detailing exposes a hint of skin while adding a modern flair to the classic shape.

Her red lipstick and nail polish brought out the red accent in the print, harmonizing the look.

Greta Gerwig In Fendi – 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards

Greta Gerwig appeared to be full of love at the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards on Thursday (January 11) in Santa Monica, California.

The ‘Lady Bird’ director wore a Fendi Pre-Fall 2018 gown that framed an embellished heart detail on her chest.

I can see people either loving or hating applique. I appreciate the craftsmanship of the design as there is no obvious nude netting. Plus, the loving mood it projects is very welcome.

The thing that lets it down for me is the size and placement. Perhaps a smaller heart closer to where her own is would have been better as I find the neckline a touch overwhelming.

Greta Gerwig In Gucci – The National Board Of Review Annual Awards Gala

Just when I had started to believe Greta Gerwig had taken the minimalist path, she goes for maximalism in Gucci at the 2018 The National Board Of Review Annual Awards Gala on Tuesday (January 9) in New York City.

The ‘Lady Bird’ actress stole the spotlight and ensured dazzling entrance in her Spring 2018 rose-gold sequin dress.

I love how the dress was able to flourish with her simple black Gianvito Rossi pumps and Cartier jewels, and how the silhouette was tempered with a black waistband.

While I’m embracing the sharp change in direction, I’m not so sure this will go down too well with the majority; especially when so many of you disliked a similar dress Cate Blanchett wore from this same collection.

Greta Gerwig In Oscar de la Renta – 2018 Golden Globe Awards

Greta Gerwig’s start to 2018 on the red carpet has been a fruitful one, and her stellar form continued to the 2018 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 7) in LA.

Monochromatic hues with minimal detailing have been Greta’s go to when it comes to modern-day eveningwear, and that contemporary vision was upheld within this Oscar de la Renta piece.

I love how the dress falls uninterruptedly from curved neckline and how the Tiffany & Co. necklace adds a touch of glamour.

Graceful, elegant and unfussy.

The BAFTA Los Angeles Tea Party

There were many more stars in attendance at the BAFTA Los Angeles Tea Party, joining Diane Kruger on Saturday (January 6).

Michelle Williams: As we might have predicted, the actress was dressed in a Louis Vuitton design—this one a basic variation on a sheath dress with a graphic pattern to add visual interest.

Issa Rae: Continuing her sunny-yellow mood from the 2018 AFI Awards, Issa donned a Rosie Assoulin Spring 2018 frock that featured a sense of girly playfulness in the oversized ruffle detail. With Monica Vinader jewels to round out the look, she kept the styling simple and sleek this time around.

Emma Watson: Emma debuted a short set of bangs that had a certain Sofia Boutella influence to go with her Osman Resort 2018 ensemble. The sharp look prominently celebrated the menswear trend, with Susi Studio loafers contributing to that theme.

2018 AFI Awards Red Carpet Roundup

More stars were in the mix at the 2018 AFI Awards on Friday (January 5) in LA, in addition to Emilia Clarke, Saoirse Ronan, and Allison Williams.

Reese Witherspoon: This little red dress may have been right up Reese’s alley, and nothing all that groundbreaking, but it was a chic addition to the style lineup. I like the twisted, ruched details to further flatter the figure. Christian Louboutin ‘Corneille’ nude pumps rounded out the look.

Greta Gerwig: I cannot fully get aboard the piece-y nature of this Burberry dress, what with the embroidered lavender overlay, the uneven hem, and the wide, dropped waistband. The dark pumps didn’t help the dress’s cause, either.

Issa Rae: Issa was nothing but a ray of sunshine in this happy-chic Calvin Klein bias-cut frock topped off with metallic sandals and a Jimmy Choo ‘Cloud’ clutch.
