Greta Gerwig In Ralph Lauren Collection – ‘Lady Bird’ New York Film Festival Screening

My first reaction to Greta Gerwig’s Ralph Lauren Collection Fall 2017 look worn to the New York Film Festival screening of ‘Lady Bird’ on Sunday (October 8) was, “this won’t get the credit it deserves.”

Yes, I’m very guilty of loving something because of the colour or amount of embellishments, but on this occasion I love how Greta allows the beautiful and construction of this houndstooth strapless dress to stand alone.

Does anyone share my love for this look?

Greta Gerwig In Antonio Berardi – ‘Meyerowitz Stories’ New York Film Festival Screening

Greta Gerwig joined Grace Van Patten at the ‘Meyerowitz Stories’ New York Film Festival Screening on Sunday (October 1).

Eschewing the gown for chic separates, the actress wore Antonio Berardi Resort 2018. A ruffle detail on the neckline added some soft femininity to the suiting elements of the top and the wide-legged trousers.

The white pieces were a nice counterpoint to Noah Baumbach’s navy suit and multicoloured striped tie.

What did you think of Greta’s outfit?

Greta Gerwig In Giorgio Armani & Sophie Theallet – ‘Lady Bird’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere & HFPA & InStyle TIFF Party

In the day, Greta Gerwig attended the ‘Lady Bird’ Toronto Film Festival premiere. At night, she celebrated the HFPA & InStyle TIFF Party on Saturday (September 9) with a display of bold prints.

‘Lady Bird’ Premiere:  By day, the actress opted for a Giorgio Armani Fall 2017 strapless column. She lost the trousers from the runway version and extended the dress so it hit just above the ankles. She tempered the bold blue print with ankle-strap heels.

HFPA & InStyle TIFF Party: In the evening, Greta donned bold prints again with a Sophie Theallet Fall 2017 number. Rather than a feeling of déjà vu, the saffron frock with pleating and long sleeves felt fresh. I would have preferred it without the thick belt as it presents a conflicting daytime feeling.

Greta Gerwig In Rodarte – ‘The Meyerowitz Stories’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Greta Gerwig attended the premiere of ‘The Meyerowitz Stories’ during the 2017 Cannes Film Festival on Sunday (May 21).

I didn’t love this Rodarte Spring 2017 gown on the runway, but I didn’t dislike as much as I might have imagined on the red carpet.

Perhaps I was just thankful to see the skirt was lined from its original incarnation.

Aside from that, the lace and dotted tulle layers and the flurry of ruffles and frou was a bit overdone, albeit whimsically so.

The Monique Péan jewelry was a proper accessory; the same cannot be said for her platform black shoes that were evidently a distracting necessity given the length of the dress.

2016 National Board of Review

The National Board of Review Gala was hosted on January 4, 2017 in New York City and attended by a namedrop-worthy guest list.

Maggie Gyllenhaal: Graphic playfulness and an asymmetrical silhouette kept the actress’s Marni Resort 2017 dress fresh, but I would have loved to see a thin belt to provide some waist contouring.

Naomie Harris: Taking the plunge, Naomie nixed a dress in favour of a Brandon Maxwell Spring 2017 wide-leg jumpsuit that moved beautifully when she walked.

Amy Adams: Lovely in lace, the actress wore a Marchesa Pre-Fall 2017 embroidered dress that ultimately left me with the urge to cut off the bell sleeves while also securing a more nude underlining for the bodice.

Greta Gerwig In Roksanda – ‘Maggie’s Plan’ New York Film Festival Premiere

Greta Gerwig In Roksanda - 'Maggie's Plan' New York Film Festival Premiere

Greta Gerwig attended the ‘Maggie’s Plan’ premiere during the 2015 New York Film Festival on Sunday (October 4) in New York City.

The actress wore a striking Roksanda dress which serves as an elegant way to wear the label’s signature bold colourways.

Some might believe that a neutral colour would’ve served best to showcase her new red hair colour, however, I’m totally captivated by the boldness and sleek appeal of this look.
