Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Chanel Tribeca Film Festival Artist DinnerA palette of pretty young things were spotted at the 9th annual Chanel Artists Dinner on Tuesday (April 22), hosted during the Tribeca Film Festival at Balthazar in New York City. The glamorous soiree invited plenty of Chanel-infused looks, naturally, with most of the lovelies showing their love for the label.

Greta Gerwig: Pretty in pink, the actress embraced spring with her Chanel Spring 2014 distressed tweed dress matched to a pink and orange Chanel clutch. Nude pumps, a nude lip and a slicked-back ’do ensured that all attention was directed to her bright frock.

Lily Aldridge
: The model struck a shimmering chic stance in a Chanel Resort 2014 navy embroidered dress with chiffon overlay, paired with a silver clutch. With her simply styled brunette strands and barely-there makeup, I love how effortlessly and beautifully she pulls off what could be a fussy, tired iteration of the sheer trend.

Anna Dello Russo and Giovanna Battaglia In Prada - Miu Miu Women's Tales 7th Edition -'Spark & Light' Screening

Anna Dello Russo and Giovanna Battaglia attended the Miu Miu Women’s Tales 7th Edition -’Spark & Light’ screening, held at the Diamond Horseshoe on Tuesday (February 11) in New York City.

Had these two fashion mavens not been besties, I would have believed their meeting on the red carpet to have been quite awkward.

But, I think it is pretty safe to say that this double dose of Prada was pre-planned.

If your question is who wore it better,I would have to say Gio Bat.

She wasn’t a slave to the runway styling like ADR, opting for tights instead of the runway knee-high striped socks.

Also, the fact that she didn’t wear a ridiculous feathered head-piece also scores in her favor.

Giovanna Battaglia In Prada - PRADA Journal - A Literary Contest In Collaboration With Feltrinelli Editore

Giovanna Battaglia attended the PRADA Journal – A Literary Contest In Collaboration With Feltrinelli Editore held at the Prada Epicenter Store in New York City yesterday evening.

Gliding down the stairs in the multi-level store, she worked this salmon-pink and green-gingham button-down Prada Fall 2013 coat as a chic frock, which she belted and styled with a head-turning pair of strappy purple Alexandre Birman sandals.

The party-perfect look for a cold night out in Manhattan.

Estee Lauder 'Modern Muse' Fragrance Launch Party Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup of the rest of the attendees at the Estee Lauder ‘Modern Muse’ Fragrance Launch Party held at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City yesterday evening.

Joan Smalls: The model snagged the first look from the Prabal Gurung Spring 2014 collection, wearing a lavender-and-ivory strapless dress with light embroidery. The only thing I would change about the look is the heavy Casadei pumps.

Hailee Steinfeld: The young actress wore a cute Marc Jacobs Resort 2014 navy floral satin dress with a pleated skirt styled with a navy cardi and brown ankle-strap sandals. Had she opted for better heels and ditched the cardi this would’ve been a more memorable look.

Hilary Rhoda: Like Joan, she also wore a Prabal Gurung look, selecting a sexy one-shoulder ivory frock from the designer’s Fall 2013 collection featuring a sculptural ruffled hem and gold baroque border. Jimmy Choo ‘Besso’ black-and-gold sandals, tousled tresses and a gold clutch completed her look. She was by far the best dressed at this event for me.

Street Style - Day 6 - New York Fashion Week Spring 2014

Anna Dello Russo and Giovanna Battaglia made quite the pairing, as they entered the Oscar de la Renta Spring 2014 show together on Tuesday during New York Fashion Week.

Although her Oscar de la Renta Spring 2013 striped gown has already been seen on Fan Bingbing and Jelena Ristic, Anna flaunted it anyway. The ‘Vogue Japan’ fashion editor styled her Oscar differently with rows of bangles and the ‘La Grand Odalisque Masterpiece Pendant’ necklace by Noor Fares fine jewelry.

Still, I couldn’t help but wonder why this unorthodox fashion chameleon couldn’t find a gown that hadn’t made not one, but two, prior appearances. But such is her unpredictable charm.

Meanwhile, Giovanna gave us a Prada 2013 off-the-shoulder plaid dress. The stylista pared down the runway look’s sassy-schoolgirl ways by skipping the red sweater and by adding some retro flair with a brown leather belt and black T-strap Gucci pumps.

Do you like Anna and Giovanna’s pattern play?

Met Gala 2013

Here is a roundup of the rest of the ladies who took to the red carpet for the 2013 Met Gala on Monday evening. Models @ The Met post will follow.

Brooklyn Decker: The actress wore a custom Peter Pilotto look inspired by the Spring 2013 collection. While the look is custom I feel like I have seen this look several times before, so there is nothing fresh or new about it, unlike other custom looks as showcased by Karolina Kurkova and several others. Her Sergio Rossi ‘Hypnos’ sandals, however, are a work of art.

Alicia Keys: The singer took to the red carpet wearing a custom Jason Wu gown. Her black leather and bordeaux sequin embroidered halter gown is beautiful, but I wish Alicia had pushed the punk vibe with the styling a bit more; the red streaks in her hair aren’t enough for me, especially when we know Alicia isn’t afraid of taking a fashion risk. Robert Lee Morris jewels and a vintage clutch completed her look.

Maggie Gyllenhaal: The actress wore a beautiful custom Calvin Klein scarlet gown for the occasion which was punked up as far as she would go with a studded choker and a Tod’s black studded clutch with a gold frame. While I do love this look, I wish Maggie had gone bra shopping before this event.
