Gina Rodriguez In Cristina Ottaviano – ‘Annihilation’ LA Premiere

Gina Rodriguez joined Natalie Portman for the premiere of Paramount Pictures’ ‘Annihilation’ at Regency Village Theatre on Tuesday (February 13) in Westwood, California.

The actress made a movie-star entrance onto the red carpet in this bronze and turquoise halter gown from Cristina Ottaviano’s Fall 2017 collection.

Fashioned with shimmering and shining paillettes, this piece glints against the lights resulting in a design was hard not to take notice of.

Some might find this too disco-diva-ish and label it dated, but I find this look so effervescent and perfectly suited to Gina’s personality, plus the colours are gorgeous against her olive skin.

Gina Rodriguez In Rasario – 2018 SAG Awards

Gina Rodriguez stepped out at the 2018 SAG Awards on Sunday (January 21) alongside Kelly Marie Tran, Hong Chau and Zoe Kazan.

The ‘Jane the Virgin’ actress was on presenting duties and wore a Rasario Resort 2018 dress for the occasion.

I appreciate the concept, but don’t think the gown came together as cohesive as it could have.

The softly gathered skirt feels off against the graphic nature of the top with contrasting cups and boning.

Had it been designed in an A-line silhouette with black banding across the bottom, it would have been more harmonious.

The dark bodice was still successful for showing off her Time’s Up pin.

Gina Rodriguez In Georges Chakra Couture – ‘Ferdinand’ LA Screening

Gina Rodriguez was at the LA screening of ‘Ferdinand’ on Sunday (December 10).

What often strikes me about the actress’ style is how she shifts from sultry to sweet statements.

Opting for the latter this time around, she charmed in a Georges Chakra Fall 2017 Couture embellished gown that had a sense of girly fun along with the intricacy of its design.

The rich palette of colours and feathery wisps of embroidery were the statement-makers of this dress.

I did slightly miss the original above-the-ankle silhouette, as I think it added a bit of panache to the proportions. But, that would be a nitpick to an otherwise lovely look.

‘The Star’ LA Premiere

There were many stylish ladies out at the LA premiere of the animated film ‘The Star’ on Sunday (November 12).

Meagan Good: The actress opted for stunning simplicity in this white Zeena Zaki gown. The snowy colour played into the festive theme, matching the white carpet. Some of the details did get lost, but the dress’s immaculate cut did not. Le Vian diamond earrings added some sparkle to the ensemble.

Gina Rodriguez: The ‘Jane the Virgin’ actress often embraces colour and feminine shapes. This Missoni fringe dress spoke to both points. The multicoloured banding with embroidery had a striking finish thanks to the play of textures and shapes. The coordinating fringed sleeves were a joyful touch, as were the Casadei pumps.

Gina Rodriguez In Christine Alcalay – Build Presents ‘The Star’

Gina Rodriguez stopped by Build Series on Monday (November 6) in New York City to discuss her new animated film ‘The Star.’

The actress donned a Christine Alcalay Spring 2018 dress. The silky mustard fabric of the frock combined with the forest green boots had an autumnal feel. The rich colours were played up with her red lipstick.

I’m on the fence with the boots as I like this colour combination, but feel the footwear might be a tad heavy for the lightness of the wrap dress.

Swarovski jewels added a soft sparkle to the ensemble.

Gina Rodriguez In Vivian Chan – L.A. Dance Project’s Annual Gala

Gina Rodriguez joined Natalie Portman at the L.A. Dance Project’s Annual Gala on Saturday (October 7).

Also opting for a darker dress, the ‘Jane the Virgin’ actress wore a navy blue Vivian Chan number.  The dress had a sophisticated play of sheer and opaque fabrics with a translucent turtleneck dress with long sleeves revealing a slinky slip underneath.

Blue is a shade that Gina has donned at a few different events and this ensemble proves why she loves it so much. Against her complexion, it is stunning.

Metallic accessories, including a faceted clutch and delicate sandals, complemented the rich blue frock.

27th Annual EMA Awards

The 27th Annual EMA Awards on Saturday (September 23), honoring film and television productions and individuals that further public awareness of environmental issues, had its fair share of flora on the red carpet.

Nikki Reed: The new mom chose a blue-green Tadashi Shoji Pre-Fall 2017 gown. Banding on the bodice brought some allure to the bohemian maxi dress decorated with red and white flowers.

Natalie Portman: The Christian Dior ambassador resisted florals, opting for a creamy frock from the fashion house. The simplicity of the above-the-knee dress with delicate sandals felt refreshing.

Jordana Brewster: Donning a white Paule Ka Pre-Fall 2017 dress with pink and red blooms, the actress incorporated the night’s white and flowers trends. Hueb ruby earrings, fuchsia lipstick and coordinating sandals enhanced the floral pattern on the dress, while the black nails and clutch added some toughness.
