Refinery29 29Rooms Los Angeles: Turn It Into Art Opening Night

The Refinery29 ’29Rooms Los Angeles: Turn It Into Art’ opening night party saw a host of lovely ladies in attendance on Wednesday (December 6) in California.

Gabrielle Union: The ‘Being Mary Jane’ actress wore a TOME Fall 2017 bomber jacket and corseted shirt, plus some check trousers. I’m usually a big fan of Gabrielle’s style, but I couldn’t get on board with this look. I think the shirt is really the chink in her armor here.

Margot Robbie: With those power shoulders, it’s quite clear that Margot was paying homage to the 80s in this sleek Saint Laurent Spring 2018 look which she styled with Pierre Hardy ‘Laser’ pumps.

Janelle Monae: Did Janelle’s invite say come as art? That can be the only explanation for this Kaimin leather dress and Nange Magro // Dead Lotus Couture latex headpiece. You gotta admire her for committing to the look if nothing else.

The Hollywood Reporter’s 2017 Women In Entertainment Breakfast Red Carpet Roundup

There were many more fashionable femmes in attendance at The Hollywood Reporter’s 2017 Women In Entertainment Breakfast on Wednesday (December 6) in Hollywood, California, joining Zoey Deutch and Jennifer Lawrence.

Amandla Stenberg: With a bold play on colour-blocking, this Solace London Resort 2018 ensemble celebrated the feminine form—even with menswear-inspired trousers. I like the vivid curve of the red-orange halter in contrast with the white waistband piece. Nicholas Kirkwood embellished pumps completed the look.

Lea Michele: The actress opted for the elegant-girly aesthetic of designer Lela Rose with this floral-embroidered frock.

Isla Fisher: The suiting trend got a punchy, graphic boost in this Alice + Olivia Resort 2018 matching jacket and pants, styled with a coordinating navy blouse.

BALMAIN Celebrates LA Boutique Opening and Beats by Dre Collaboration

BALMAIN’s bevy of beauties all came out to play on Thursday (July 20) in Beverly Hills to celebrate the opening of the French house’s first-ever West Coast boutique as well as the launch of the BALMAIN Special Edition Beats Studio Wireless and Powerbeats3 Wireless, which became available on July 19.

The BALMAIN Resort 2018 women’s and men’s collections made the rounds throughout the evening, set against music sets by DJ Kiss and DJ M.O.S. as well as a special live performance by MIGOS.

Here, all the dazzling BALMAIN looks that creative director Olivier Rousteing and his celebrity friends served up.

Hailee Steinfeld
: Never shy of toying with the more avant-garde, Hailee was a statement-making starlet in the BALMAIN army on this night with her striking head-to-toe suit of fashion armor that she commanded with ease.

Kim Kardashian: Mixing low-key with high-octane, she undoubtedly garnered attention with her more casual crop bralette paired with an embellished, windowpane skirt. Keeping the look beautifully simple in its styling, she wore Lucite heels that were nearly invisible along with nude makeup and long Cleopatra locks to complete the very Kim K look.

Kate Bosworth
: The true epitome of a party dress defined, this flirtatious frock was sophisticatedly edgy in its gilded, backless design. But it was the playful fun of the tutu that really delivered the soiree-ready whimsy. Giuseppe Zanotti pumps completed the look.

Gillian Jacobs In Huishan Zhang – ‘Glow’ LA Premiere

Gillian Jacobs attended the premiere of ‘Glow’ on Wednesday (June 21) in LA where she joined Alison Brie on the red carpet.

Reminiscent of retro party dresses, this Huishan Zhang Spring 2017 look possessed plenty of flirty fun and character.

The shift-style silhouette is the perfect backdrop for the detailed and intricate eyelet and ostrich feather design.

I’m sure you’ll agree that the choice to go shorter than the runway version was the right one – which both lengthens her legs and amps up the playful vibe.

I would have loved a hint of playfulness from some accessories, the shoes, or the hairstyling, as I’m still missing her more colourful looks, but this is yet another interesting look from Gillian.

Netflix FYSEE Kick-Off Event

Netflix’s FYSEE Kick-Off event took place on Monday (May 7) in Beverly Hills, California, with plenty of young talent hitting the red carpet.

Brit Marling: Favouring modern minimalism Brit’s Louis Vuitton vibrant red dress was of course styled with LV ankle boots; as it would appear these dresses were not made for those who favour sandals.

Gillian Jacobs: The actress’ love for colourful prints took a back seat when she opted for this romantic Sandro black lace embellished dress. It’s a change of pace which paid off nicely, mostly due to the styling which included a Jennifer Behr headband. I’m glad she didn’t try to take this too far down a goth route.

Natasha Lyonne: The ‘OITNB’ actress’ Rodarte dress certainly doesn’t shy away from print, yet I still feel a bit underwhelmed.

Gillian Jacobs In Victoria, Victoria Beckham – Netflix Event

Gillian Jacobs was spotted leaving a Netflix event on Wednesday (February 8) in New York City.

With a nod to sophisticated yet sassy fun, the actress donned a Victoria, Victoria Beckham Resort 2017 look that was party on the top and business on the bottom.

The sweater’s paillettes were like an explosion of oversized confetti, so I’m glad she reflected some of that gleam in her silver metallic heels.

Who Wore Peter Pilotto Better…Gillian Jacobs or Naomi Watts?

Who Wore Peter Pilotto Better Gillian Jacobs or Naomi Watts

Gillian Jacobs wore a wispy layered and whimsical embroidered Peter Pilotto Spring 2015 dress to a dinner party hosted by Irene Neuwirth for Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos back in April.

Although we didn’t favour the necklace, we did love the rest of her styling which especially the magenta lip which provided the perfect flirty finish.

Naomi Watts wore the same dress while attending ‘The Sea of Trees’ photocall during Cannes Film Festival last month.

Despite her raspberry Jimmy Choo sandals and Anita Ko jewels keeping this look on the right path, Gillian wins for me as I prefer the belt, shoes plus the overall youthful injection she gave to this look.
