Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Katharine McPhee was my favourite on this red carpet from this group, as I can totally see myself wearing this look.

The singer wore an Alice + Olivia taupe embellished tank with Alice + Olivia Anders safari pants.

January Jones wore a white Alice + Olivia sheath dress with draping on the hip with white strappy Jerome Rousseau sandals.

Vanessa Hudgens opted for a cute Tibi strapless mini dress from the Spring 2010 collection, with an amazing pair of multi-coloured Jimmy Choo ‘Zuma’ sandals.

Layered Irit Design silver chain necklaces completed her look.

I wasn’t at all excited about what Anna Kendrick wore, but her accessories made up for it.

She wore Jimmy Choo ‘Zena’ sandals and carried the much coveted Emilio Pucci Marquise bag.

Jessica Stroup also wore a white dress.

Her was a draped one shoulder Notte by Marchesa dress with a ruffled shoulder detail.

A Jimmy Choo ‘Mini Carolina’ clutch and those clunky Casadei 3504 triple platform pumps completed her look.

Like Anna, Gabrielle Union opted for an all black look which included a Helmut Lang dress, a Yaya leather jacket and Alexander McQueen cut-out zippers & skull booties.

Most Improved Award
For someone so young and so pretty Gabrielle Union is not usually that impressive on the red carpet.

She always dresses too maturely or in really dark colours, so I was happy to see her glistened on the red carpet at the 41st NAACP Image Awards.

Gabrielle looked beautiful wearing a Pamella Roland Spring 2010 silver modern beaded cocktail dress with long sleeves.

I love her whole look which included silver Jimmy Choo heels and a Jimmy Choo clutch.

The lighter streaks in her hair makes her appear younger.

Gabrielle Union was one of the few at this event that didn’t bore me along with Taraji.

Gabrielle wore a figure hugging nude strapless gown with silver detailing. Nice dress, shame about the hair.

Taraji P. Henson also opted for nude Alberta Ferretti gown which was gorgeous against her skin, but the hunched shoulders really bother me.

There’s something very dated and home-made about Mya’s red strapless gown with a jeweled detail.

She obviously wanted to stand out on this red carpet – which she does – but for all the wrong reason.

Queen Latfiah continue to her slide into boringville.

Her LBD is nice enough, but in she needs to bring back the colour.

Something tells me I’ve seen Mary J Blige wear this one-sleeved dress before.

This is the best I’ve seen Tichina Arnold in a long while. Her black gown with a feathered skirt doesn’t often me.

This has to be one of the most boring and poorly dressed red carpet events of the year.

The BET Honors airs on February 1 at 8 pm on BET.

January Jones would have stood out at this event wearing a two-tone Gucci Resort 2010 bandeau dress, paired with statement necklace, black heels and her blonde locks piled high.

Her asymmetrical heels are an interesting choice, but I would have loved something less heavy to go with her summery dress.

Zoe Saldana continues to impress wearing a two tone lingerie-inspired Antonio Berardi Spring 2010 bustier dress which screams ‘sexy’.

I’m loving the gold heels Jamie King wore with her Marc Jacobs Fall 2009 dress.

The dress gathers from neckline down the front of her dress and has an interesting jagged hemline.

It’s been a while since we saw Emma Stone on the red carpet.

The actress walked the red carpet wearing a back tulle Christian Cota Fall 2009 draped dress with Guiseppe Zanotti ankle boots.

I wish I could have found a better picture of her stand up straight.

I am in lust with Olivia Wilde’s white Marchesa Bridal dress.

The colour, the structure, the folds and the embroidered detail on the bodice excite my senses.

Unfortunately I’m don’t feel the same way about her hairstyle.  An updo would’ve worked wonders.

Her look is paired with Brian Atwood Marlo heels.

There was a time when Kim Kardashian would’ve been guaranteed to walk this event wearing a bandage dress, but these days she covers up but still manages to look sexy.

This plum colour is gorgeous on her.

Jessica Stroup always keeps her look young and fresh.

She wore a pair of gold metallic lace boy shorts and black tailored jacket from the ‘Amber Valletta for Monrow’ capsule collection.

Jimmy Choo Detroit suede ankle boots complete her look.

It looks like shorts were the hot trend of the night as Amanda Seyfried also donned a black pair, teaming them with a crocheted fringed top.

A Judith Leiber clutch and Brian Atwood Maniac black heels complete this cute look.

Rose McGowan goes without her signature red pout on this occasion for a fresher neutral look.

Her blue Miu Miu bustier dress has also been worn by Kristen Dunst.

Elizabeth Banks and Gabrielle Union both wore black BCBG Max Azria dresses.

Elizabeth paired her mini dress with pattern tights, whilst Gabrielle’s asymmetrical hemmed dress was paired with peep-toes and a two-tone clutch.

Camilla Belle looked stunning and elegant wearing a Marchesa Spring 2010 magnificent dress.

This kind of dress could’ve easily gone so wrong, but the embroidered white tulle cocktail dress with a feather hem and sleeves makes her look like an elegant swan rather than Big Bird.

Black strappy heels prevent this look from being too costumey.

This is second time in a row I haven’t been jumping up and down with exciting with what Demi Moore has worn on the red carpet.

On this occasion her asymmetrical Zac Posen Spring 2010 black dress looks better on the runway, to her halter neck version.

Angie Harmon pairs grey thigh-high Rodate Fall 2009 boots with a maroon wide neck Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2009 dress.

I like the pieces separately, but together it’s a bit of a disaster.

If this is Angie’s attempt at being edgy, I would say stick to being slightly predictable.

Gabrielle Union was my second favourite on this red carpet.

The beautiful actress wore an ivory plunging dress, with draped details on the hips.

Normally she faded into the background, but on this occasion she stands out.

Lisa Edelstein looked effortless chic wearing a black strapless Paule Ka gown adorned with a nude bow.

Debra Messing opted for a pile it high hair ‘do when she walked the red carpet wearing a black long sleeved dress with embellished cuffs.

For a Style event, I’m very much underwhelmed by most on this red carpet.

Many of you have campaigned long and hard for this moment, and you finally have your wish.  The gorgeous Georgina Chapman modifying her runway designs.

Your complaints were that as a designer she should be setting herself apart from clients like Thandie Newton, Jennifer Morrison and Miley Cyrus, despite the fact that she usually beat them in Who Wore It Better? polls.

I adore this scarlet satin Marchesa Fall 2009 strapless dress with satin bow on the hip.  The dress sparkles – as she does – with embroidered detail on the bow and the bodice.

The colour is so rich and luxurious which compliments her sun-kissed skin.

Matching peep-toes complete this exquisite look.  I can’t gush about how much I love this look enough.

We normally have to wait until Thursday to get BDOTW contenders, but we have 3 already.

Ciara walked the red carpet looking chic with her razor sharp ‘do wearing a Rock & Republic Spring 2009 leather mini-dress with an oversized bow neckline.

She wore her sexy dress with a pair of Rock & Republic’s “Athena” sandals and pink lips.

Lisa Rinna went back into the archives to find this stunning strapless Roberto Cavalli Fall 2005 gold lame dress.

You may remember Kate Hudson wore this dress back in 2005 to “The Skeleton Key” London Premiere.

Terry Ellis, Cindy Herron, Dawn Robinson and Maxine Jones aka En Vogue were a quartet of beautiful ladies all wearing Marchesa and Notte by Marchesa.

I love the baby blue on Cindy, she always stands out.

Maxine was the only one to wear a modified dress.  She opted for a shorter sassy dress over a flowing gown like her band mates.

Holly Robinson Peete opted for a strapless coral Marchesa Resort 2009 silk chiffon pleated dress with embroidered bodice and waist.

The colour is divine against her glowing skin.

I would have loved to have seen Gabrielle Union wearing one of the sassy and more colourful cocktail dresses from Marchesa’s stunning collections, but she opted for a navy strapless gown with a embellished detail on the bodice.

Garcelle Beauvais opted for a simple black gown brought to life with gold embroidery detail through-out the dress.  She compliments her dress with a gold statement necklace which she often wears to add a bit of pizazz to her look.

Laila Ali is a knock out wearing a white Black Halo one shoulder dress with black strappy sandals.
