The Paley Center For Media Hosts A Tribute To African-American Achievements In Television

The Paley Center For Media Hosts A Tribute To African-American Achievements In Television

The Paley Center for Media hosted a tribute to African-American achievements in television on Wednesday (May 13) at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.

Kerry Washington: The ‘Scandal’ actress, who has been on a roller coaster ride of red carpet hits and misses, relied on the ubiquitous see-through trend to get by at the event. The netted Self-Portrait black frock was a more vampy entrance for Kerry, so I’m glad she completely embraced it with an oxblood lip.

Gabrielle Union: Significantly sunnier, Gabrielle’s Rosie Assoulin yellow frock was a delightfully radiant colour for her, although I wish the top half of the dress fit a bit more seamlessly. She accessorized the look with Nikos Koulis jewels and Giuseppe Zanotti embellished black heels.

2015 Met Gala Roundup

"China: Through The Looking Glass" Costume Institute Benefit Gala - Arrivals

A flurry of even more bold names descended on red carpet of the ‘China: Through the Looking Glass’ 2015 Met Gala, hosted at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4), where their colourful variety of looks only contributed to this year’s fashion extravaganza.

Anna Wintour
: As the gala co-host, the ‘Vogue’ editor-in-chief dressed thematically (for her, anyway) in a Chanel Spring 2015 Couture gown featuring dimensional, all-over poppy embroidery, which had been lengthened from the runway’s original shorter version. She should have maintained her signature cap sleeve, as the flower petal statement shoulders translated as a bit cumbersome, despite their inherent artistry.

Bee Shaffer: Like her mother, Bee also found inspiration in flowers, opting for a mahogany blossom gown by Alexander McQueen. I much preferred this look to Anna’s, especially with the enchantment of the beautifully embroidered Chinese cranes that alighted down the back of the dress.

Who Wore Suno Better…Gabrielle Union or Amanda Holden?

Who Wore Suno Better Gabrielle Union or Amanda Holden

Gabrielle Union and Amanda Holden wore the same Suno crinkle effect dress from the Resort 2015 collection less than 24 hours apart.

Gabrielle wore a lilac version with silver metallic Alejandro Ingelmo pumps for her guest appearance on ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’, while Amanda opted for an olive green version styled with Burberry heels in a complementary hue while attending the Birmingham auditions for ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.

Both wore the dress well, so at this point I would revert to the shoes, which are equally on point. In this case I would have to say I prefer the lilac over the olive green, so Gabrielle wins for me.

Gabrielle Union In Sachin & Babi – The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

Gabrielle Union In Sachin & Babi - The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

Gabrielle Union made a guest appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ on Tuesday (February 24) to promote her new TV show, ‘Being Mary Jane’.

The actress was looking as smoking hot as ever wearing a Sachin & Babi dress from the Fall 2014 collection that was a mesmerising vision of alluring colour-blocking, which gave the look a sophisticated edge while the print – with the plunging neckline – boosted the feminine flair.

Simply styled with Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals, a plump red lip rounded out this gorgeous after-dark look.
