Felicity Jones In Prada – AARP The Magazine’s 14th Annual Movies For Grownups Awards Gala

Felicity Jones In Prada - AARP The Magazine's 14th Annual Movies For Grownups Awards Gala

Felicity Jones attended the AARP The Magazine’s 14th Annual Movies For Grownups Awards Gala at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel on Monday (February 2) in Beverly Hills, California.

Following the Academy Awards nomination luncheon, the ‘Theory of Everything’ actress changed out of her Dior frock into this Prada black silk draped bustier dress featuring contrasting white stitching.

Sitting on the fence, I do like the look for not being a basic LBD, but I’m at odds with the random placements of some of the contrast stitching, like the asymmetrical one on the bodice, for example.

Prada sandals, sleek locks and a ruby lip rounded out her look.

Felicity Jones In Christian Dior - 87th Academy Awards Nominee Luncheon

Felicity Jones attended the 87th Academy Awards Nominee Luncheon held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Monday (February 2) in Beverly Hills, California.

Stepping at least 20 miles outside her comfort zone, the ‘Theory of Everything’ actress donned a Christian Dior Pre-Fall 2015 green coated cotton dress with an embroidered trompe l’oeil navy and orange sequin top.

As much as I really, really admire this journey into uncharted territory, this doesn’t work for Felicity.

Maybe had the hair been pulled back, maybe had she opted for a different shoe choice, maybe had this not been for a luncheon I could’ve climbed on board with this look, but I much prefer the Erdem style of look she wore this weekend.

Please feel free to call me a hypocrite all you like as I have been very vocal about wanting to see her in something new.

Felicity Jones In Erdem – 19th Annual Art Directors Guild Excellence In Production Design Awards

Felicity Jones In Erdem - 19th Annual Art Directors Guild Excellence In Production Design Awards

Felicity Jones attended the 19th annual Art Directors Guild Excellence In Production Design Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Saturday (January 31) in Beverly Hills, California.

The ‘Theory of Everything’ actress wore a pale blue pretty Erdem silk-chiffon floral-print neck-tie gown from the Pre-Fall 2015 collection.

This is a classic look for both the brand and Felicity – pretty, chic and elegant.

While we (especially me) may have bemoaned black frock after black frock, I do love that Felicity always stays true to her style, as perfectly showcased here.

Van Cleef jewels and a simple updo completed her look.

Felicity Jones In Osman – Cinema Vanguard Award Ceremony

Felicity Jones In Osman - Cinema Vanguard Award Ceremony

Felicity Jones attended the Cinema Vanguard Award Ceremony during the 30th Annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival held at the Arlington Theatre on Thursday (January 29) in Santa Barbara, California.

After a few dips in the colour pool the British actress goes back to black.

Taking her usual purist approach to red carpet dressing, she wore a sharply cut black strapless Osman Resort 2015 dress, which epitomises the designer’s penchant for modern silhouettes.

I love how the pink V panel lends a feminine touch, as well as the simple styling of this look.

Get The Look: Felicity Jones’ Producers Guild Awards Tousled Bun

Get The Look Felicity Jones' Producers Guild Awards Tousled Bun

Celebrity hairstylist Cervando Maldonado worked with Felicity Jones for the 2015 Producers Guild Awards on Saturday (January 24).

Cervando said, “My inspiration for the look was a modern tousled bun.”

Here’s how to get the look.

On damp hair he first applied Kerastase Volumactive Mousse from roots to ends. Then he sprayed Oscar Blandi Volumizing Spray throughout the hair.

Next he used a Harry Josh Blow Dryer and rough dried the hair until it was almost dry, using a comb on the top of the head and around the hairline to create lift and texture. He used a medium-sized Ibiza Boar Bristle Brush to blow out the hair starting on the top and the front of the head, taking it section by section to create lift and semi-smoothness. After blow drying each section, he put the hair in a small Velcro roller to create lift and hold. Once the hair was set in the rollers from the front of the head to the crown only, he smoothed out the hair around the face with the brush and left the rest of the hair at the back of the head in its natural texture.

Once the hair was dry, he took all of the rollers out except the one at the very front. He then used his hands to rake though the rest of the hair, pulling it up into a ponytail above the occipital bone. He pinched the hair in place and wrapped a bungee hair band around the hair to secure it. Next he took the ponytail and wrapped it around into a loose bun, using bobby pins and hair pins to hold it in place. He then took the last roller out and pushed the remaining hair back with his hands, pinning it in place right above the bun.

Next he sprayed a combination of Oribe Dry Texturing Spray and Sachajuan Volume Powder through the top of the hair and the bun to create great texture and keep the height in the front. He finished it all off with Sachajuan Super Strong Hold Hairspray, spraying lightly through the whole head for a great hold with a natural look.
