Fan Bingbing In Chloé – ‘One Night Surprise’ Shanghai Premiere

Fan Bingbing In Chloé - ‘One Night Surprise’ Shanghai Premiere

Fan Bingbing attended the ‘One Night Surprise’ premiere held at Wanda International Cinema in Shanghai, China yesterday evening following a photocall earlier in the day.

On this occasion, she wore a pretty white Chloé Fall 2013 A-line dress with ruffles, organza layers and military-style detailing around the waist with was much more weather appropriate with temperatures reaching 40 degrees in Shanghai.

Even though this look was slightly toughened up with the detailing, I am once again perplexed by Bingbing’s shoe choice.

She clearly has a wide range of shoes at her disposal because we’ve had three different selections in two days for her three looks; however, none has been appropriate.

I’m starting to worry.

Fan Bingbing In Xiao Li – ‘One Night Surprise’ Shanghai Photocall

Fan Bingbing In Xiao Li - 'One Night Surprise' Shanghai Photocall

Fan Bingbing continued to promote her latest movie, ‘One Night Surprise’, with a photocall at the Shanghai World Financial Center yesterday in Shanghai, China.

If you are in a country currently experiencing a heat wave you may want to look away now, as the actress wore a heavy knitted ensemble by talented up-and-coming designer Xiao Li, which was presented as part of his Royal College of Art graduate 2013 collection.

The look consisted of a pale-yellow chunky-knit sweater with an exaggerated silhouette, puffed-up sleeves and a tonal faceted-resin-embellished neckline, which she styled with a colour-block pale-blue-and-coral skirt.

While I am glad she shone the spotlight on this young designer in 40-degree weather, once again she fails on the shoe choice.

This is such an avant-garde, fashion-forward look, so the yellow stripper heels sadly take the edge out of the look – and what is up with Bingbing and this green nail polish lately?

Who Wore Valentino Better…Alexa Chung or Fan Bingbing?

Who Wore Valentino Better Alexa Chung or Fan Bingbing

Back in November, Alexa Chung attended Day Two of the-miumiu-london women’s club at the Cafe Royal in London dressed in a sweet Valentino Resort 2013 lime-green dress with a frilly white top accented with a black bow belt and styled with black accessories including an Anya Hindmarch ‘Bathurst’ bag.

Just last month Fan Bingbing opted to wear the same dress in pink to a press conference for her latest movie, ‘One Night Surprise’, styling the look with nude platform peep-toes and a pink flower ring.

While I am not a fan of either shoe choice, Alexa is my favourite here – not only because I prefer the green over the pink, but also because I prefer the way she styled the look.

Fan Bingbing In Dolce & Gabbana – ‘One Night Surprise’ Press Conference

Fan Bingbing In Dolce & Gabbana - 'One Night Surprise' Press Conference

Fan Bingbing continued to promote her latest movie ‘One Night Surprise’ in Chengdu, China yesterday with her co-stars.

After leaving us dumbfounded by her shoe choice yesterday, the Asian beauty wore black platform pumps which were much more complementary to her look this time around.

Adding fishnet tights, she donned a Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2013 ensemble featuring a floral-print long-sleeved blouse with a multi-print A-line skirt.

I’m sure this fun look will delight those of you who think Bingbing’s red carpet look is often too rigid or predictable.

You may remember that Poppy Delevingne wore this exact same look back in April, whereas Katy Perry just wore the skirt.

Fan Bingbing In Elie Saab Couture – ‘One Night Surprise’ Beijing Premiere

Fan Bingbing In Elie Saab Couture - 'One Night Surprise' Beijing Premiere

Fan Bingbing seemed to be in a very playful mood while attending the ‘One Night Surprise’ premiere held at the China World Summit Wing in Beijing, China yesterday evening – methinks it has something to do with the champagne she was seen knocking back during the event.

You won’t be surprised to see her wearing an Elie Saab Spring 2013 Couture gown.

The stunning blue cocktail dress with three-quarter-length sleeves and a tiered skirt accented with a thin leather tonal belt was lightly lined so as not to ruin the allure of this exquisite piece.

Sadly, the neon-green toe polish and champagne-coloured peep-toes with gold embellishment don’t work for me – especially considering the silver details on her dress and the silver jewels.

This is a classic case of liking everything from the ankles up.

Who Wore Oscar de la Renta Better…Fan Bingbing or Jelena Ristic?

Who Wore Oscar de la Renta Better Fan Bingbing or Jelena Ristic

When Fan Bingbing wore this Oscar de la Renta Spring 2013 gown to the Vanity Fair Party back in February, it was her third of the night following her Marchesa gown to the Oscars and her Elie Saab Couture gown to the Elton John Party.

She allowed the navy-and-white striped, strapless gown to make a statement without the bold necklace the dress was styled with on the runway, opting for a black Roger Vivier clutch and silver jewels.

Jelena Ristic also went for a statement necklace-less approach when she wore the same gown to the Novak Djokovic Foundation London gala dinner, adding a navy Bottega Veneta clutch and silver drop earrings.

The watch and the silver cuff were two pieces too many for Bingbing’s look; I really loved Jelena’s more effortless approach, plus her navy clutch was more complementary so she wins for me.

Louis Vuitton Beijing Store Opening

Louis Vuitton Beijing Store Opening

On Friday Louis Vuitton opened a store in Beijing, China, inviting many local celebs to help celebrate the occasion.

Fan Bingbing: As the face of the brand, Fan Bingbing was of course in attendance. The actress wore a lemon floral satin slip dress with nude Chantilly lace trims which she styled with a dove-grey LV printed coat and off-white LV ‘Alma’ bag, all from the Fall 2013 collection with much improved styling over the runway. With her style being inconsistent over the past few months, it’s nice to see her back to her effortlessly glamorous self here.

Carina Lau: The actress made her degrade Louis Vuitton Fall 2013 wrap-coat the focal part of her look with a Chantilly lace trimmed dress barely seen under her coat. While the LV sandals perfectly complement the look, the horrid grey LV fold-over clutch dominates it. Had she ditched the bag, this would’ve been my favourite look.

Qin Shupei: The model wore a Louis Vuitton Fall 2013 lingerie-inspired grey-checked slip dress with spaghetti straps and Chantilly lace trims with light embellishments, which we’ve seen twice before on Victoria Beckham, once on a shoot and the other controversially during the Wimbledon mens final. Qin styled her look with a black clutch and the same LV sandals worn by Carina and Fan in grey.
