Best Dressed Award
Wearing the colour of the season – electric blue – Kate Winslet is the only actress that made me say wow last night.

The British actress was truly outstanding wearing a stunning Narciso Rodriguez body-con gown, which hugged her in all the right places.

The deep v-neck proved again that Kate is not afraid to show off her cleavage.

She completed her look with Chopard jewels.

I particularly loved her earrings.

Best Runner Up Award
Had it not been for Kate, Evan Rachel Wood would have won Best Dressed wearing this stunning teal Monique Lhuillier Pre-Fall 2009 off-the-shoulder gown.

She accented the gown with a eagle brooch, which worked well with rest of her antique looking jewelry.

She completed her look with purple Sergio Rossi heels, and a matching clutch.

Most Dramatic Award
I like drama on the red carpet. And Teri Hatcher certainly provided that last night wearing this Monqiue Lhuillier Pre-Fall 2009 gown, which had an asymmetric bodice, folds on the skirt, a train, shoulder detail, and a black belt to finish off the look.

It all sounds to much, but it worked perfectly. Teri more than did it justice as she literally bounced with joy down the red carpet, looking particularly pleased with herself.

Most Undecided Award
I went back and forth a lot with Eva Longoria in this Jenny Packham Spring 2009 dress.

I like the dress, the colour, and the gold crystal and turquoise embellished neckline. But I really dislike Eva’s hair, and the nude mesh part of the dress.

Best White Award
There were many white gowns on the red carpet last night, but Anne Hathaway’s was the most exquisite. The actress wore a white Azzaro gown with crystal embellished neckline and belt.

This dress sees the classic beauty return to her outstanding red carpet form, we have long been admiring.

Her look was complete with Cartier jewels, and Christian Louboutin heels.

I Know You Probably Hate It, But I Love It Award
No red carpet is complete without a Elie Saab gown, and Marisa Tomei did not disappoint in this canary yellow Elie Saab Spring 2009 gown with satin floral detail.

The floral detail started on the shoulder, then cascaded down her back.

She is on fire at the moment.

Back On Track Award
After Freida Pinto’s disappointing Golden Globes gown, she was back to her best wearing a pale blue Marchesa gown.

She completed her look with a Roger Viver box clutch, and Martin Katz jewels.

Best Dressed Couple Award
Diane Lane and Josh Brolin together always make me swoon.

He was gorgeous wearing a black on black suit, whilst she shone, so elegantly, wearing a red David Meister halter gown.

Most Vibrant Award
I have not seen any movies with Viola Davis, so she was not really on my radar, but she surely grabbed my attention wearing a vibrant yellow David Meister draped stretch charmeuse one shoulder evening gown.

The colour really popped against her skin.

Best Red Award
There were a lot of red dresses on the SAG red carpet last night, but I loved the silhouette of Claire Danes’ Nina Ricci gown.

The dress was also set apart with it’s asymmetrical skirt, and its sheer cap sleeves.

She completed her look with Fred Leighton jewels and Jimmy Choo heels.

Best Couture Award
Couture doesn’t have to be about highly structured pieces. It can also be about gorgeous floaty ultra feminine pieces like this Anne Valérie Hash Fall 2008 Couture strapless gown, which Jennifer Morrison wore last night.

The lace skirt and embellished neckline look beautifully delicate.

Best Snap Back Award
The last time I saw Amy Poehler on the red carpet she was pregnant, now she has snapped back to her fabulous pre-baby figure.

The comedian also wore white, and looked angelic wearing a plunge-neck Roberto Cavalli Pre-Fall 2008 gown with a brooch detail on the empire waist.

Silver peep toes and diamond jewels completed the look.

Va Va Voom Award
WOW. I have said it before, and I will say it again. What an amazing figure Christina Hendricks has. Her racy red Carolina Herrera ruffle neck gown, does nothing but enhance it.

Glorious.

Quietly Consistent Award
Jenna Fischer does not wear anything that screams “Look At Me”, but she always manages to look fantastic.

She did so again last night wearing a dove grey silk chiffon plunge-neck Pamella Roland gown with yellow and grey beading along the empire-waist.

Best Deja Vu Award
Lisa Edelstein is wearing a red Reem Acra Pre-Fall 2009 asymmetric gown, we have seen many times before. Mainly because there is a Resort 2009 dress which looks very similar which was recently worn by Gabrielle Union.

Finally No Black/Best Dressed/Best Couple Award
In my Best Of 2008 Awards, I was praying for colour in 2009 for Angelina Jolie.

Either god answered my prays, or Angelina reads my blog, because here we have Ange looking out-friggin-standing wearing a ice white Max Azria Spring 2009 one-sleeved gown.

She wore her gown with her hair pulled back, pearl earrings and a Herve Leger Spring 2009 clutch.

She is wearing no make-up would you believe. Beauty at its most simplistic.

Oh and Brad does not look to bad either. I am even getting used to that fuzz on his chin.

Most Edgy Award
Anne Hathaway is having an outstanding week.

Sticking to her non-safe approach to dressing, the actress walked the red carpet wearing another dress from the Gianfranco Ferré Spring 2009 collection.

The black side of the dress looks more fitted, whereas the ivory side has wavy fold to add more drama to the dress.

The look is completed with a gold buckled belt, as it was presented on the runway, and black peep-toes.

Best Embellishments Award
This is a slight predictable dress for Eva Longoria, but the turquoise Monique Lhuiller Spring 2009 cocktail dress looks divine on her.

The colour and embellished details on the halter-neck and waist really make her glow.

I am not so sure about the yellow clutch, but I do like the nude pumps and the new bangs.

Golden Girl Award
Evan Rachel Wood’s looks does not have any stench of Dita von Teese, so congratulations to her for exorcising that demon.

The actress sparkled in a gold Jasmine Di Milo dress and Stuart Weitzman shoes.

Best Strapless Gown Award
Gowns are her forte, so it’s no wonder Kate Beckinsale looks drop-dead gorgeous in this deep burgundy strapless J.Mendel Pre-Fall 2009 gown.

On The Fence Award
I am not sure if I like this or hate this.

I believe Katy Perry really pulls this 1940s Dolce & Gabbana boudoir look off, but I’m just not sure if I like it, as it feels like a costume.

Best Black Award
Diane Lane and Josh Brolin are my Best Couple Runners up. They always look so good together.

My ever first girl crush, Diane looks exquisite wearing a black sequined Monique Lhuillier dress, with a black satin bow tied to her waist.

Best Heels Award
Kristin Scott Thomas looked so sophisticated wearing a black YSL bustier dress with YSL satin sandals.

Her look was complete with a simple pearl pendant necklace, diamond earrings, and a black embellished clutch.

Best Dressed Curves
Virginia Madsen looks delightful wearing this blue velvet David Meister strapless gown.

The gathered detail on the bodice, works well as draws you in, and gives her a more defined silhouette.

Best Newcomer Award
I have not featured Freida Pinto on my blog before, but on her first appearance I have nothing but praise.

Her draped white Zac Posen Spring 2009 dress is complimented with her silver peep-toes.

Best Heels/Clutch Combo Award
Amy Adams wore a strapless vibrant blue Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2009 dress which had a structured piece on the hip.

Her clutch and silver Christian Louboutin slingbacks all compliment the silver brooch she added to the hip of her dress.

Just OK Award
Another cute dress for Dakota Fanning. This time it’s Marc Jacobs.

It has been a while since I did a Red Carpet Transformation post, and I could not think of any one better than Evan Rachel Wood, because her style has been a bit of a roll-coaster. As the young actress she tried to develop her own style and ended up….well just copying Dita von Teese’s.

One of Evan’s first red carpet appearances was at the ABC All Star Party back in 2001 when she was just 14.

Her look back then was age appropriate, and varied, with a small sign of Gothic tendencies, with her love for her black leather skirt.

During 2003-2004, a teenage Evan Rachel Wood gained critical acclaim for her role as Tracy Louise Freeland in the hit movie Thirteen.

Her look was very much to be expected for a young girl walking the red carpet at some of the biggest events.

She was slightly awkward in an eggplant dress for the Thirteen premiere, golden at an event honouring Nicole Kidman, coming of age in a steel blue satin dress to the Golden Globes, fairy-tale princess-like at the SAG Awards, and looking very grown up in a nude flapper-esqe dress for the Critic’s Choice Awards.

In 2006 we saw the start of her ‘black’ phase.

In October 2006, Evan and Marylin were first photographed together at The Nightmare Before Christmas 3D World Premiere.

Evan attended Marilyn Manson Art Gallery Exhibition on Halloween, wearing head-to-toe black, retro waves, and red lips. This you may say is when the transformation to a Dita von Teese clone began.

Dita von Teese filed for divorce on 29 December 2007, citing Evan Rachel Wood as one of the factors in the break-down of their marriage. Not long after Evan and Marylin went public, and so did her dark locks.

Some of you have tried to convince us ‘none believers’, that the darker locks was for a movie role, but we ain’t buying it.

In early November it was reported that Evan Rachel Wood and Marylin Manson had split on October 23.

Shortly after that Evan incorporated some colour into her red carpet look, not once, but twice. Her hair also became lighter, as she showed off a gorgeous flame coloured ‘do.

She has kept the retro waves and darker make-up, but it looks like she maybe finally starting to find her own identity.

I think there’s not a lot wrong with being inspired by someone else’s style. Victoria is inspired by Audrey Hepburn and Christina Aguilera by Lady Gaga, but basing your look on your boyfriend ex-wife is a little creepy.

“Seven Pounds” LA Premiere

Sanaa Lathan looks radiant in this raspberry pleated dress with embellished detail around the neckline.

Well wadda you know, Gabrielle Union is wearing another black dress by Kaufman Franco.

The last time we saw her wear a colour other than black and navy was July 2008.

“The Wrestler” LA Premiere

Now this is what you call a pop of colour. Marissa Tomei brightened up the red carpet wearing an eye-catching electric blue plunge-neck Alexander McQueen Spring 2009 dress.

The gorgeous actress wore her dress with black pumps, a black Alexander McQueen skull clutch and her hair pulled back in an updo.

Maggie Grace is very much the golden girl in her nude mini Nicole Miller dress embellished with gold sequins, but from her hairline it looks like she is going grey.

Flame haired actress Evan Rachel Wood has been wearing a lot of champagne coloured dresses lately, but she reverted back to black and her gothic style for this premiere.

Her dress is vamped up with some vintage looking accessories, ’40s-style hair and very strong make-up.

I love her necklaces and the drop-waist nature of her dress.

December 3rd, 2008

A while back I started a huge debate over Evan Rachel Wood and her style.

I said that she was a copy-cat version to the fabulous Dita von Teese. Many agreed and many of you did not.

Those who did not agree informed us that she was sporting the dark hair, pale skin, ruby red lips look for a movie role.

Well I say “boo” to that theory, because here she is post-break up from Marylin Manson, sporting lighter hair, not as pale skin and a dress that is not black.

I think it is fair to say that those of us who believed she was copying Dita were right.

I hate to say I told you so, but here you have it.

♥

Amy Adams is no doubt one of the most impeccably dress celebrities on the red carpet, and I really do not think she gets enough credit.

Last night she took the red carpet wearing a stunning gold and silver embroidered Carolina Herrera Spring 2009 dress, which a black chiffon detail around the neckline.

The fresh faced actress completed her look with gold leaf earrings, a black clutch and black heels.

Rachel Weisz and her love affair with the Narciso Rodriguez Spring 2009 collection continues, as she wore a black and ivory asymmetric silk dress, with a dash of red on this lips, a black clutch and black pumps.

I am loving her sleek straight hair.

Penelope Cruz was honored at last nights event, and for this very special occasion she wore a black silk Lanvin Spring 2009 tuxedo coat, with satin lapels and black satin belt.

Penelope accessorized the look with Lanvin’s double strand brass chain necklace and Chopard jewels.

Michelle Williams wears just another black dress by on the red carpet, but diamond wings brooch adds a bit of interest to her Balenciaga LBD.

Rebecca Hall also opts for black (zzz). Her Prada dress is also embellished with jewels.

Hollywood Life’s Behind the Camera Awards, LA

The delectable Lucy Liu took to the red carpet last night wearing a wearing a vintage pleated tulle ruffled and black knitted patchwork Christian Lacroix Haute Couture dress.

She completed her look with Gilan jewelry, YSL Trib Two pumps and a red Roger Vivier clutch.

Evan Rachel Wood lightens her wardrobe since her reported split with Marilyn Manson, wearing a gold satin sheath dress.

Lupus LA’s 6th Annual Bag Lady Luncheon, LA

I know a lot of you feel like Mischa Barton should get a job, but I feel that being on the red carpet is her job, because lets face it she can’t really act.

Mischa is wearing a strapless Monique Lhuillier Fall 2008 cocktail dress with a embellished bodice and a feathered skirt.

She completes her look with a pair of gold heels and a gold leaf detailed hair accessory.

Hollywood Dominoes: VIP Launch, London

I do have a soft spot for Sienna Miller, despite her the tabloid stories. She always look like she is having fun, and she dresses well for ever occasion.

Here she wore a slate grey mini Preen dress, which had a lace up detail at the back.

She completed her look with tights, black booties and a B. Romanek clutch.

“Kung Fu Panda” DVD Release, LA

Angelina Jolie has already snapped back to her svelvte self, and she shows off her great leg and stunning figure wearing a Ralph Lauren Resort 2009 black mini dress, with Stuart Weitzman nude shoes.

4th Annual A Fine Romance To Benefit The Motion Picture & Television Fund, New York

Every time I see Catherine Zeta Jones on the red carpet, I lose a bit of hero worship for her. She use to always wow me on the red carpet, but even with all that embellishment on her Reem Acra gown, she does not shine for me.

Amy Adams gets better and better on the red carpet. She always picks the right dress and the right colours.

The 14th Annual Make-A-Wish Ball, Miami

Kim Kardashian style transformation is nothing short of a miracle. What is even more miraculous is that she is keeping it up.

This olive one-shoulder gown is just spectacular on her and her make-up is flawless.

She is definitely on the most improved list with Beyonce.
