Evan Rachel Wood In Jeremy Scott for Moschino – 2017 Emmy Awards

‘Westworld’ star and Best Actress nominee Evan Rachel Wood was at the 2017 Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 17) in LA.

Often gravitating towards looks with a sharp sense of precision, she attained that with this custom Jeremy Scott for Moschino menswear-influenced suiting ensemble.

While the look did translate some of the designer’s signature penchant for exaggeration in the shrunken jacket and vest piece, I love how the monochromatic white colour palette increased the overall sophistication factor.

The flowy, wide-leg pants could have even been mistaken for a long skirt from afar, which increased the glamour and femininity of the look—as did her gorgeous, desert-tinged makeup and earrings.

A Jimmy Choo ‘Cay’ clutch and Salvatore Ferragamo heels completed the look.

Toronto Film Festival Red Carpet Roundup

The 2017 Toronto Film Festival red carpet has been red-haute with looks throughout the weekend, and here is a roundup of the rest of the stars that were seen on Sunday (September 10).

Margaret Qualley: The young starlet was at the ‘Novitate’ premiere dressed in a Valentino Fall 2017 gown. This ornate look translated a bit heavily for me, but it’s intriguing to watch Margaret continue to boldly experiment with her style.

Evan Rachel Wood: I absolutely loved this Stella McCartney Resort 2018 pinstripe ensemble on the actress at the ‘A Worthy Companion’ premiere. Riffing on menswear, the look perfectly played into her edgy style sensibility while providing a different take on the suiting trend with its play on proportions. Her makeup seemed a bit overzealous, but that would be my main qualm. Giuseppe Zanotti shoes completed her look.

Elisabeth Moss: After a few recent looks that successfully pushed the boundaries of Elisabeth’s go-to style, she was back in her comfort zone at ‘The Square’ premiere with this Rochas retro-inspired jumper and skirt accessorised with Chloe Gosselin embellished pumps.

HFPA & InStyle TIFF Party Roundup

More femmes flaunted their style at the HFPA & InStyle TIFF Party on Saturday (September 9), joining Emma Roberts, Greta Gerwig and Jess Weixler.

Jessica Chastain: The actress took a flirty turn in an Elie Saab Resort 2018 embroidered in swirls of colour; a cleavage-forward look that proved that sexy and sweet can go hand in hand.

Margot Robbie: I loved the retro-mod, rock-star-chic vibe of this Saint Laurent Fall 2017 mini that brought maximum impact via the signature bold shoulder and crystal embellishment to an otherwise minimal LBD.

Dianna Agron: Despite the deep plunge, there was a quietly sophisticated allure that permeated this Schiaparelli gown that featured an ever-so-faintly transparent skirt. This is the kind of sheer I can fully get on board with.

Evan Rachel Wood In Mugler – Comic-Con 2017: ‘Westworld’ Panel

Evan Rachel Wood loves a good suit, and she put one to work for her at the ‘Westworld’ panel during San Diego Comic-Con 2017 on Saturday (July 22).

The notion of the bold shoulder was not lost on this Mugler Resort 2018 ensemble that celebrated a sense of sharp, sculpted elegance with a literal nod to the so-called power of a power suit.

I love the visible, embellished seam work in the jacket that contributed to its modern allure that was fit for a super woman.

With a signature touch of intrigue, she styled the look with a rather unexpected pair of blood-red Salvatore Ferragamo stilettos.

Evan Rachel Wood In Brandon Maxwell – HBO’s ‘Westworld’ FYC

Evan Rachel Wood joined Thandie Newton for HBO’s ‘Westworld’ FYC panel on Tuesday (May 30) in North Hollywood, California.

Their styles couldn’t be more different with Thandie going down a boho path, and Evan sticking to her preferred suiting option.

I love how the blazer of her Brandon Maxwell Fall 2017 suit is enhanced with a pleated back to add definition and a new shape to this classic silouette.

Styled with Louboutins and a red pout, even without a blouse or a cami, this look possesses disarming elegance and an all-new level of cool.

Evan Rachel Wood In Altuzarra – 2017 Met Gala

Evan Rachel Wood attended the 2017 Met Gala on Monday (May 1).

The ‘Westworld’ actress wore an Altuzarra pantsuit with classic black pumps and clutch.

This pantsuit is cool. First and foremost, I love that it’s pants–An Evan Rachel signature, and a fun change of pace for the evening. I also easy it looks to wear, despite the detailed beading on the bodice. Of course, a train with pants is always a fun fashion treat, and while I actually might like the bodice a bit more if it weren’t asymmetrical, I’m not going to nitpick this lovely look.

And then we get to the beauty side of things. I love going for it when it comes to drama and themes. I really do, but unfortunately, the only thing it seems that Evan Rachel went for was a campy Halloween costume.

The over-the-top eye and brow makeup in addition to the hair color doesn’t read edgy to me. It read DIY gone wrong.

Am I missing a really fabulous beauty point, or do you agree that that hair and makeup just aren’t working?
