Eva Mendes For Flare Magazine May 2014

Eva Mendes graces the May 2014 cover of FLARE Magazine, captured by Guy Aorch wearing a Chanel dress, bolero and pearl-accented necklace. The magazine hits newsstands April 14.

The brunette bombshell plays up her domestic side in ladylike looks from Zac Posen, Rochas and Chanel in the rest of the magazine, all of which are very much in tune with her new style.

Eva opens up to the magazine about style regrets, working with Miuccia Prada and what her mum thinks of her dresses.

Her mamá regularly emails her daughter critiques of her red-carpet outfits, entitled “Mom’s Review”.

On her Mum’s critiques: “She’s usually on the money. If she doesn’t like something, I can usually see why: it didn’t photograph well or looked weird around the waist.”

On her mother’s ideas about her style: “My mother always says she wants to see me in more fitted things! She’s always saying, ‘Show off your body, it’s not always going to be like this!’”

On how she hates skinny-jeans: “I’m always in dresses, in skirt—I think they’re so easy. People are always saying, ‘I love jeans, they’re so casual and easy,’ but I think jeans aren’t easy. They’re my worst nightmare.”

On the revealing outfits she regrets: “It’s not that I’m against body-conscious clothes: I have worn them on the red carpet or out, but when I’m photographed in them, I always regret it. For me, it’s always been the easy way out. When I wear something a little more reveal- ing, I think, Oh, gosh, I should have been more creative.”

On how she hates body-baring clothes: “I don’t like when it’s just me and I’m not working. I don’t like feeling like I’m on display.”

Eva Mendes In New York & Company – New York & Company Spring Launch

Eva Mendes In New York & Company - New York & Company Spring Launch

Sticking to her retro bouffant, Eva Mendes attended the Eva Mendes For New York & Company Spring Launch held at the Los Cerritos Center on Wednesday (March 19) in Cerritos, California.

The actress selected another look from her collection, donning a lush painterly floral ‘Riviera’ dress in a beautiful watercolour palette which flows gracefully over her figure into a full below-the-knee-length skirt.

Emphasizing the mint-green from her frock, she selected accessories in a matching hue, carrying a ladylike M2Malletier ‘La Fleur Du Mal’ mint leather clutch with a gold needle handle, and Jimmy Choo ‘Ari’ pumps.

She has become the perfect ambassador for her brand, even though I am itching for her to switch up the hairstyle once in a while, but it seems to be a template she is sticking to.

Eva Mendes In New York & Company & Escada – New York & Company Spring Launch Dinner

Eva Mendes In New York & Company & Escada - New York & Company Spring Launch DinnerEva Mendes attended the New York & Company Spring launch dinner, which celebrated her eponymous collection with the brand, at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, California on Tuesday (March 18).

Having earlier been spotted at the NY&C pop-up shop at The Beverly Center, the actress changed into a slightly more formal look for the evening event.

Channeling feminine, vintage appeal, she embraced all things lace with her New York & Company ‘Rebecca’ strapless, mauve-coloured dress and Escada Resort 2014 ‘Catrin’ pink car coat.

The same beaded, bold bracelets and Bionda Castana ‘Daphne Bis’ gold floral lace pumps from earlier in the day transitioned seamlessly to this look, as did her sultry bouffant-style updo and sexy-smoky cat eyes.

Statement chandelier earrings rounded out the retro-refined look that showed off the sophisticated side of lace.

Eva Mendes hosted the New York & Company launch of the Eva Mendes for NY&C Spring 2014 collection with a pop-up shop at The Beverly Center on Tuesday (March 18) in Los Angeles, California.

The pretty actress, who we don’t see much of on the red carpet at the moment, donned a pretty navy-and-white dress from the new Eva Mendes for NY&C collection.

Her chic daytime frock, which would look lovely on Michelle Obama, was styled with a navy Smythson clutch, Bionda Castana ‘Daphne Bis’ gold floral lace pumps and a selection of gold bracelets.

Glossy lips, a sexy bouffant with side-swept bangs, and smouldering cat-eyes rounded out the retro appeal of her launch look.

Eva Mendes In Vintage Luis Estévez – 2013 Vanidades Icons Of Style Gala

Eva Mendes In Vintage Luis Estévez - 2013 Vanidades Icons Of Style Gala

Following a big push of her fashion collection with New York & Company earlier this week, Eva Mendes was smouldering when she took to the red carpet for the 2013 Vanidades Icons of Style Awards held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City, where she was honoured with the Mujer Vanidades Award yesterday evening.

The actress wore a sexy black vintage Luis Estévez black frock with fringe details falling from the halter neckline and an open back.

There was a time when she was no longer playing the sexy temptress role on the red carpet, so I’m delighted to see her back on form here.

She styled the look with Jennifer Meyer hoop earrings, a gold Reece Hudson ‘Stendhal’ minaudière and Jean- Michel Cazabat ‘Emma’ pointy toed patent leather pumps.

Luis Estévez was a favourite designer of Hollywood royalty. His most iconic dress was the one he designed for Grace Kelly. She wore his dress for her first royal portrait after marrying Prince Rainier of Monaco in 1956.

New York & Company And Eva Mendes Collection Launch

New York & Company And Eva Mendes Collection Launch

If you’ve been wondering where Eva Mendes has been, she’s been busy creating a fashion collection with New York & Company.

The actress has been quoted on several occasions saying how much she loves to shop in vintage-clothing stores, so it’s not a surprise that her affordable line of dresses, skirts, blouses and accessories has a vintage-inspired theme.

Like any good brand ambassador, the actress has wasted no time promoting her brand.

For the line’s launch this week she wore a white draped bodysuit, black brocade pencil skirt and necklace.

Yesterday morning she wore a polka-dot dress on ‘Good Morning America’ and a floral dress, jacket and head scarf while leaving.

Eva also wore a coral tunic dress on ‘The View’ yesterday morning. Finally, she has also been spotted wearing a coat from the line to meetings in the city this week.

Aside from the coat, all the pieces are under $100.

Many of you said it would be a cold day in hell before you purchased anything from Rihanna’s River Island collection, so how do you feel about Eva’s New York & Company collection?
