August 18th, 2009

Despite being the human equivalent to a magpie and being instantly attracted to anything the sparkles, I’m not in love with Diane Kruger’s embellished Miu Miu mini dress as I don’t think it flatters her.

I feel like tugging the skirt down as it sits too high for my liking.

She completed her vixen look with bright red lips and black strappy heels.

Diane’s co-star Mélanie Laurent faired much better wearing a Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2009 Couture black ensemble.

The look consisted of a black pencil skirt, patent waist belt and a sheer halter top, which she lined from the runway version.

Black peep-toes and a black Christian Louboutin clutch completed the look.

Love the look, but I’m not at all crazy about her hair.

Michelle Monaghan looked outstanding wearing a navy blue Rachel Roy Resort 2010 dress with sculptural peaked shoulders.

The bold shoulder is not an easy look to pull off, but Michelle does with ease.

Manolo Blahnik white strappy sandals and a silver cuff complete the look.

Rachel Roy modified Spring 2009 strapless dress to become a spaghetti strapped taupe dress with a less revealing metallic neckline.

Her look is made more interesting with a chunky silver necklace from Michael Kors Fall 2009 collection.

I like designers like Rachel, Donatella Versace and recently Georgina Chapman who modify their own designs to make them more individual.  Take notes Mrs B.

I LOVE Agyness Deyn here.

For once the British model looks glamorous even though she’s wearing a Rocky Horror Show t-shirt.

There’s something about the neatness of her look that I’m drawn too. The sleek bob, the pencil skirt, the red Lulu Guinness lips clutch, her gold strappy Méchante of London’s ‘Elektra’ Rose python heels and the cleanliness of it all.

Not a hint of grunge in sight.

Alexa Chung’s style is not to my liking, but I do appreciate her shirt with a studded collar, plus her H&M skirt, but I can’t bare the greasy hair.

I don’t understand how greasy hair became so trendy.

Actress Julia Stiles looked smart and chic wearing a white satin dress, with an ivory criss cross detail that goes across her back.

She paired her dress with gold gladiator sandals and a white clutch.

Olivia Palermo bucked the short and sassy trend at this event and opted for a ruffled maxi Kate Moss for Topshop dress.

Although she does look elegant and she has added a pony tail to her trademark hairstyle, I can’t help feel a bit bored by her look.

The edgy New Yorker appears to have soften her look.

Melissa George made a huge statement wearing a bold red dress to this screening.

The star was very sophisticated in scarlet as she added black accessories including a studded peep-toes.

Eva Amurri where is your bra?

With twins like those they need support.

Emmanuelle Chriqui at least wore a bra, even though I can see it under her white Kain Label Pocket Tee.

Her electric blue clutch punches up her laid-back look.

Socialite Fabiola Beracasa channels her inner Victoria Beckham wearing a ridiculous headband whilst ruining her gorgeous plum Alexander Wang one-sleeve jersey dress.

With her newly plumped lips Lindsay Lohan walked the red carpet looking a disheveled mess, but then what’s new about that?

I’m sure the actress got many calls from Britney Spears last night, asking for her ratty extensions back.

Louis Vuitton Hosts A Tribute To Stephen Sprouse Cocktails, New York

I don’t know how, but I almost missed this one.

How Agyness Deyn makes it onto any Best Dressed List continues to baffle me.

The model arrived at this event wearing a LBD, a graffiti style day-glo oversized vintage Sprouse blazer and Doc Martins. She accessorised with an orange crucifix and limited edition Louis Vuitton bag.

I am not feeling the graffiti bags, and I am hating Deyn ensemble.

Brook Shields looks delightful wearing a blush pink strapless Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2008 dress.

The dress has a taffeta skirt with a gathered jersey bodice. I was not a fan of this collection, but Brook has made me fall in love with this dress.

Eva Amurri opted for a black fur gilt from the Louis Vuitton Fall 2008 collection, to go with her all black ensemble.

She completes her look with platform heels from the same collection.

Molly Sims works this red blazer as a dress from the Louis Vuitton Spring 2008 collection.

“My Bloody Valentine 3D” Screening, LA

Jamie King wore a Lanvin Fall 2008 black and brown banded cocktail dress, which had a mesh yoke.

She wore her amazing dress with black Christian Louboutin slingbacks.

Pre-Golden Globes Luncheon, LA

January Jones gives us the cold shoulder in this Stella McCartney Spring 2009 LBD.

I really like Jessica Alba’s ensemble, especially the lavender pants, but I am not crazy about the hair or lack of make-up here.

Opening Of The London Boat Show 2009, London

Kelly Brook channels her inner Olive Oyl, as she salutes the press at the London Boat Show launch today. The TV presenter wore a stripey Diane von Furstenberg Resort 2009 strapless dress especially for the occasion, with red strappy sandals.

The 8th Annual Awards Season Diamond Fashion Show, LA

Rumer Willis’ delicate nude dress is gorgeous, but as usual, the hair just does not work for me.

Olivia Wilde is so angelic wearing this two tone chiffon Jason Wu Spring 2009 dress. She really is becoming one of my faves on the red carpet.

Debra Messing’s steel grey draped Donna Karan dress, is better than the one she wore at the People’s Choice Awards.

A darker haired Andrea Bowen looks delightful in this colour-block dress.

Garcelle Beauvais is gorgeous in a green Karen Zambos Baretta silk dress.

Taraji P. Henson wore a cream and orange floral Rachel Roy Pre-Fall 2009 dress, with complimenting accessories.

Charlize Theron was the belle of this ball, arriving in a black Christian Dior Fall 2008 Couture strapless dress with a sequined dripping detail effect on her sheer skirt.

Her hair was sleek straight, as she carried a black clutch and wore gold studded strappy sandals.

Jennifer Morrison continues her love affair with the Valli collection, this time wearing a black strapless Giambattista Valli Spring 2009 dress with a black and white poufy skirt.

The actress wore her hair back in loose waves and completed her look with black strappy sandals.

I loved this dress better on the runway, as the skirt had more volume.

I got really excited when I saw Blake Lively’s name on the picture agencies list.

When I clicked her name my face literally dropped when I saw what she was wearing an uncharacteristic Vena Cava Fall 2007 maxi.

I am speechless. SPEECH-LESS.

Juliette Lewis arrived wearing a silver sequined 3.1 Phillip Lim jumpsuit, which despite being a summer favourite are still very hot this Fall.

Maria Sharapova is delightfully elegantly chic in her chocolate mini Richard Chai Resort 2009 dress.

I love Tory Burch for 2 reasons: firstly, she’s never predictable on the red carpet and secondly, she’s not afraid to wear designs that are not her own.

The designer stepped onto the red carpet wearing a bold chartreuse and black velvet YSL Fall 2008 dress with a grey clutch and black strappy sandals.

Coco Rocha adopts a gypsy/ethic vibe wearing a gold headscarf with a black Gucci Resort 2009 dress with floral details.

I love this look.  It’s very different for the red carpet, but she makes it work.

This is not a look we are familiar with seeing on Chanel Iman, but the baby faced model pulls off the masculine look with great style and panache.

The black stole is a perfect added touch to her grey suit from the Daughters by Obedient Sons Fall 2008 collection.

Eva Amurri was the first actress to introduce me to the designs of Chris Benz, and she continues to stay faithful to the designer wearing a chartreuse floral Chris Benz Spring 2009 dress with an asymmetrical hem.

She matched her clutch and strappy sandals to her stand-out dress.

Well, what can you say about Agyness Deyn’s rather unique style that has not been said already?

It’s great that she likes to stand out, but for me she usually looks very comical.

This is more a stand-out look with the Mary Poppins hat and her red platform heels by Alejandro Ingelmo.

Anna Wintour loves plenty of colour and it shows here with her very colourful top, but I am not so crazy about her accompanying white skirt.

Both are from the Marni Spring 2009 collection.

Bee Schaffer looks stunning as always, in a very understated way.  She wore a strapless Thakoon Spring 2009 ivory dress, with black bands going around it.

She matches her dress with bronze Christian Louboutin heels.

Erin Fetherson is of course showing off one of her floral maxi designs from her Fall 2008 collection.

Diane von Furstenberg adopts the flapper look wearing a self designed Fall 2008 feathered hem black sequined dress, with silver embellishments.

The actress looked glamorous, chic and extremely feminine in her playful dress. She complete with a sweet silver clutch.

After Keira’s stunning Alexis Mabille Couture dress last week, this grey shapeless bandeau dress, falls a lot flat for me.

Love the hair though.

Julianne Moore wore a bold cobalt blue floor-length YSL gown with gold accents. The red haired actress carried the most exquisite gold clutch I have ever seen.

Sandra Oh loves to make bold choices on the red carpet, and does not disappoint here wearing a taupe long sleeved Fendi Feather swing dress dress with a feathered hem.

Evangeline Lilly is picture perfect in her strapless black and white strapless dress.

As always Dakota Fanning is cute and age appropriate in her black full-skirted Zac Posen Zibeline Poof Mini Dress dress.

Jennifer Hudson wow the crowds in her olive green Lanvin Pre-Fall 2008 gown with a black bow.

She also wowed the crowds, when a big gush of wind blew up open her dress to reveal her black spanx under her dress.

Poor thing. How very embarrassing.

Queen Latifah asymmetric dress, matched her asymmetric hairstyle.

Sophie Okonedo’s blue ruched strapless dress, showed off her sexy silhouette.

“Middle of Nowhere” Premiere

No wonder we have not seen Sophia Bush at Fashion Week.

The One Tree Hill star kept it simple in a strapless LBD.

Willa Holland also opted for a strapless LBD, but her was layered with chiffon and had a cut bow on the bust line.

The actress wore her dress with a pair of eggplant Christian Louboutin Orniron Ankle Boots

“The Dark Knight” Premiere, New York

A very svelte Maggie Gyllenhaal looked very elegant in a black custom-made Dries Van Noten Fall 2008 strapless gown with a bright floral print on the bodice and skirt.

She accessorized with tear drop earrings and a gold bracelet.

Her elegance was completely with a neat updo.

Blake Lively showed off her well toned long legs in a black satin Vena Cava playsuit with a plunging neckline.

The Gossip Girl actress opted against jewelry, maybe because the embellishments on her ensemble had enough to make her stand out. She completed her look with gold pointy pumps.

Lauren Conrad wore a nude sheath Dolce & Gabbana bustier dress with a black overlay.

Lauren accessorized with black Christian Louboutin peep-toes, a bracelets and her ‘Lauren’ name tag ring, which she has worn on several occasions.

Mariska Hargitay looks beautiful, as she always does, wearing a two tone, slate and brown satin Derek Lam Spring 2008 dress, with a beaded pair of strappy sandals.

Longchamp 60th Anniversary Celebration, New York

Who else other than Diane Kruger, Chloe Sevigny and maybe Christina Ricci could pull off this nautical look so well?

Diane looks très chic in her Chanel hat, cropped stripped top and black Grey Ant high-waisted black pants.

Leighton Meester opted for this very sexy black body-hugging sheath BCBG Max Azria dress with an embellished neckline, which she wore with her black and white Dior heels.

Julianne Moore colour coordinates her black with a gold platformed YSL strappy heels, with her black silk Isabel Marant Fall 2008 dress with gold stones embroidered into the material.

My supermodel girl crush Coco Rocha, graced the red carpet in this navy blue Chanel Resort 2008 dress with Christian Louboutin for Roland Mouret platformed heels.

This girl has fierceness oozing from every pore.

*sighs*

Actresses Susan Sarandon and Eva Amurri, look more like sisters than mother and daughter.

Susan opted for a navy blue plunge-neck dress and a gold tote, whist Eva wore a silver dress with black peep-toes.

Fox All-Star Party At The Pier, LA

Glenn Close always looks elegant.

The 5 time Academy nominated actress looked very youthful in her strapless Ralph Lauren Spring 2008 floral dress with a bright pink cardigan.

I adore pencil LBD’s, and Olivia Wilde is supremely chic. I love how she opted for nude heels, instead of a black heels.

Emily Deschanel goes very casual, with a black top, black pants and a stripey blazer.

Sarah Wayne wears a playfully sexy Diane von Furstenberg Pre-Fall 2008 dress. This unique dress has a blush pink silk bodice and slate wool body.

2008 VH1 Rock Honors: The Who, LA

Mila Kunis rarely smile on the red carpet, but she does sparkle in this silver Stella McCartney Resort 2009 sequined sheath dress.

“Heroes Season 2″ Press Conference, Japan

Heroes actress Eriko Tamura wore a very colourful strapless Ralph Lauren Spring 2008 dress with the signature Polo Match logo incorporated into the design.

She completes her look with Givenchy peep-toes.

Intermix’s 3rd Annual “VH1 Rock Honors” VIP Party, LA

Lauren Conrad decided not to wear one of her own design, but instead opted for a LBD from the Olsen’s Elizabeth & James collection.

This fringed dress is very much suits Lauren’s style, so I will forgive her not supporting her own collection on this occasion.

Dania Ramirez wore a strapless sweetheart necklined Jay Godfrey lemon sherbet dress with a black belt and multi-colour heels.

Lauren Bosworth wore the same Jay Godfrey dress in fushica, also with a black belt and black Christian Louboutin Very Noeud slingbacks.

Melissa George first wore this Salvatore Ferragamo Spring 2008 shirt dress, when she attended the Salvatore Ferragamo 80th Anniversary Party at the MoCA Shanghai Exhibition Opening in China.

She wore her dress with a large crocodile green clutch and a tan belt.

Eva Amurri wore the same dress, when she co-hosted the “Renaissance” Art Exhibition Opening with Lake Bell, without the belt that appeared on the runway.

She teamed her dress with a cream clutch.

This is a very hard choice, as I LOVE Eva in this dress, but I prefer the runway belt with the dress, but I think that Eva made the right choice to not wear the runway belt….phew !

After much deliberation Eva wins for me.
