Although I do appreciate Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s style, they never appear to be having fun but that changed when they arrived on the red carpet for “Opening Ceremony” Japan reception party wearing Maison Michel Fall 2009 lace ears with their ensembles.

You may remember Lady Gaga wore these same lace ears recently.

Ashley wore the Mickey Mouse lace head band with a black fitted The Row Weatherby dress with a cream coat, her favourite Prada studded heels and Ralph Lauren tortoiseshell sunglasses.

Mary-Kate opted for the Rabbit Ears with her interesting black dress by a Japanese designer.

Her Toga Fall 2009 long sleeved dress had lots of texture with ruffles, pleats and layers.

She wore her dress with Prada Spring 2009 heels, and both girl carried Prada Fall 2009 bags.

It seems they both have a love for Miuccia Prada’s accessories.

There’s no way Kirsten Dunst’s could top the Olsen twins looks, but her look was also far from safe.

The actress looked like a maid wearing a high neck black mini dress trimmed with white lace and black ribbons.

A Chanel purse and black lace-up peep-toe booties completed the look.

This is not my favourite look from Kristen, plus the Chanel bag seem too big and a bit much for her look.

Humberto Leon the Creative Director of Opening Ceremony, actress Rinko Kikuchi and Carol Lim the CEO of Opening Ceremony walked the red carpet together.

Rinko wore a black double strap mini dress with exposed zippers.

I love the smokey eyes, and her sleek bob which has grown out from the shorter bob she was sporting earlier this year.

She wore her dress with the very popular Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony multi buckle wedge booties as worn by Chloe herself and Leighton Meester.

Carol Lim was wearing the same Opening Ceremony Lantern dress Alexis Bledel wore to the Teen Choice Awards, but Carol’s is black and blue, whereas Alexis was blue all over.

Designer Alexander Wang and model Erin Wasson look so hip it hurts.

Erin gave us her usual “I just threw this on” look, wearing a taupe tank top with leopard print shorts and black ankle boots.

K. Brunini Jewelry Viewing Party, LA

♥ ♥ ♥

It’s so good to see Marisa Tomei back on the red carpet. Her red taffeta belted Christian Dior by Yves Saint Laurent dress with oversized bow from Decades, is quite simply outstanding.

The dress is from Yves Saint Laurent’s first ever Dior collection from 1958. It must have been a real honour for Marisa to wear this dress.

I love her hair, and the minimal jewelry. I’m gushing, as this is one of her best looks so far this year.

Completing her look with Brian Atwood heels, Marisa is a very late entrant for Best Dressed Of The Week.

What Comes Around Goes Around’s Fall 2009 Collection Launch, LA

It’s a busy week for Lisa Rinna who arrived at this event wearing a gorgeous summertime yellow Jean Patou dress. I love the oversized collar.

It seems like only yesterday a slender Nicole Richie announced her pregnancy, now she’s already blooming.

The starlet wore tight Jet jeans, an ivory fitted top, and a canary yellow satin Ossie Clark cardigan.

Wearing a mini black dress, Erin Wasson is already sporting the thigh-high boots trend for next season.

Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman anyone?

“West Side Story” Broadway Revival Opening Night, New York

I had never seen this Marchesa Resort 2008 gown from the back, and I’m in love the open back gold embroidered detailing.

Josefina Scaglione wears this gown so well.

“Fast & Furious” London Premiere

Yes it’s fairly warm in London, but their was really no need for Michelle Rodriguez to wear sunglasses on the red carpet. Once inside she tucked them into her white chiffon Pamella Roland v-neck gown.

Why does she insist on spoiling every pretty gown given to her?

Jordana Brewster outshines her co-star in a pretty floral print Monique Lhuillier dress.

“Fast & Furious” France Photocall

Jordana Brewster fitted LBD was from the Ports 1961 collection. I’m glad she made the effort to look fabulous on the red carpet unlike….

…Michelle Rodriguez. Why did she even bother turning up?

“Sugar” LA Premiere

There is nothing I find appealing about Jessica Alba’s head-to-toe Miu Miu look.

The geometric print top is not working for me.

Rihanna wore this gorgeous lilac ultra feminine Gucci Spring 2009 gown, with a jeweled detail on the shoulder.

She keeps her make-up from the last event, which goes better with this dress, but I wish she had styled her hair differently. The style is so boyish for such an elegant gown.

The majority of the Louis Vuitton Spring 2009 collection would take a strong personality to pull it off.

I did wonder who would be brave enough to wear Marc Jacobs mad-cap designs. Of course the fearless Madonna was the first, wearing this Louis Vuitton Spring 2009 feathered mini dress, which had a green top half and a black hem. She wore her dress with a pair of gladiator heels from the same collection.

This woman, despite her 50 years, is putting young pretenders to her throne to shame.

She looks friggin awesome.

*CLAPS like a crazed woman*

Thank you Blake Lively for finally making a better effort on the red carpet. I was starting to really consider putting her on the Fashion Failures List, but she redeems herself from her Vena Cava dress she wore earlier this week.

The black and ivory drop waist Gucci Fall 2008 dress with a velvet skirt and gold embellishments, is very much on the folkloric trend, with fringed shoulders and sash on the waist.

Great effort, but I do prefer the runway all black version.

I believe that there is nothing faux about Mary J Blige’s fur Dennis Basso Coat.

The singer arrived wearing a very warm looking fur coat and fur Louis Vuitton scarf, but later reveal her slinky black Gucci Fall 2008 dress, with gold trims.

Ugly Betty’s Becki Newton was on folk form wearing an embellished LBD from Gucci’s Fall 2008 collection.

Could it be that Beyonce Knowles started a trend. Not long after she wore the Alexander McQueen Fall 2008 military waistcoat, Erin Wasson also wore it last night to this event.

The model made it look uber cool with a charcoal grey tee, and shiny black skinny pants.

Kelly Rutherford’s patterned Gucci mini dress is not very flattering, but kudos to her for daring to wear a dress that short.

Selena Gomez arrived on the red carpet looking so cute wearing a black Luella Fall 2007 dress, with a black sash tied at the waist. The stunning sweetheart neckline dress, had a mesh overlay with black polka dots all over.

The curly hair cutie completed her look with a black pair of peep-toes.

There was a time when Vanessa Hudgens would have been the belle of this ball, now she has competition from many brunette teen stars.

Vanessa looked very different from the caftan wearing young girl, who first walked the red carpet at this annual event 2 years ago.

What I absolutely adore are her Givenchy Shoes Bird Cage Ankle Bootie.

Miranda Cosgrove, like Selena, also wore a dress from the Luella Fall 2007 collection. Same stylist me thinks.

Miranda dress was a strapless silver metallic number, which is embellished with small stones, and has a black detail on the waist, and on one-side of the bodice.

This is a nice, young, fun dress, and the prefect choice for her.

Rumer Willis has gone and undone all the hard work she did in winning us over during her appearances on the red carpet for the House Bunny Premiere.

OK the skirt is a very expensive Azzedine Alaia skirt, but with the plunging top/bodysuit, the booties, and the hair, the overall look does not work.

I really don’t like the hair colour, Rumer should stick to black, as it suits her so well.

Nickelodeon’s Victoria Justice, another brunette beauty, went against the dark colours, that everyone was wearing, and opted for a white shift dress, which she wore under a ruched leather jacket and a steel grey boots.

Emma Roberts spent most of last week going from show to show at New York Fashion Week.

Not only did she not pick up any fashion tips, but she also did not pick up free clothes judging from this black turtle neck dress. I really don’t like her grey suede booties either.

Bar Refaeli wore an olive green silk miniHurley dress, that no doubt kept the male half of Young Hollywood walking around with their chins on the floor.

Erin Wasson might not have read the invitation, which said “Teen Vogue Party”, because she arrived at this event wearing a lace micro mini dress sans bra and with her panties showing.

Those poor boys would not have known were to look.

In saying all that, she does look fabulous. Not many could pull this look off, expect Vanessa Paradis.
