Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Emmy Rossum looked radiant at the 2012 Critics’ Choice Television Awards, held in Beverly Hills on Monday night.

The ‘Shameless’ star, nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series, wore a gold one-shouldered Donna Karan gown.

I absolutely love this shimmering metallic against Emmy’s fair skin and brunette hair.

A matching clutch and gold Louboutin’s, as well as topaz drop earrings, accessorize the gown.

Emmy tweeted a bit of insight regarding her side-swept ‘do before hitting the red carpet.

“My friend @therachelleigh told me to do a side twisty thing so I did. #criticschoice”

Sporting tousled waves, Emmy Rossum looked sensational wearing a Cynthia Rowley Spring 2012 dress on the ‘Conan’ show back in January whilst promoting season two of ‘Shameless’.

Her summery white lattice dress with a fluted skirt was paired with a beautiful pair of electric-blue pumps which added a pop of colour to her fresh look.

Ariel Winter wore the same dress to the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards last month.

The ‘Modern Family’ actress, who opted for a side-swept ponytail, looked super cute, but she let herself down by teaming her white dress with black Aldo wedges.

Here we have two gorgeous women, two bright colours and one beautiful YSL dress.

Kylie Minogue first donned the strapless YSL Edition Soir 2012 satin dress back in February, to the 2012 Brit Awards, in a vibrant blue hue.

The Australian pop star accentuated the gathered waist with a vintage-inspired embellished brooch, paired with large glittering earrings.

Blown-out hair and a glossy nude lip colour completed the look.

Emmy Rossum wore the same dress in magenta last week, to the Metropolitan Opera Gala premiere of ‘Manon’.

The ‘Shameless’ actress took a bold risk styling her dress with a black embellished choker.

Slicked-back hair and a dark pink lip colour provided the finishing touches.

Kylie makes her YSL dress seem so ordinary, while Emmy added a bold accessory to make her look more memorable, so she wins for me.

Most stars on the red carpet for the Metropolitan Opera Gala Premiere of Jules Massenet’s ‘Manon’ in New York City last night wore black, so I’m thankful Emmy Rossum added some colour to proceedings.

The ‘Shameless’ actress wore a YSL Edition Soir 12 magenta satin dress.

Her strapless dress with a central split was styled with a black satin clutch, an embellished choker and black strappy sandals.

I love the slicked-back bun and the dark pink lippie.

One can always rely on Emmy to add glamour to the red carpet.

Chopard diamond studs completed the look.

You may remember that Kylie Minogue wore this same dress in cobalt blue to the Brit Awards last month.

They may not have all that much in common otherwise, but Carmen Electra and Emmy Rossum were both spotted wearing the same fitted Ted Baker peplum dress with zipper detailing.

Carmen sported the look back in January at the Hollywood premiere of ‘Underworld Awakening.’

She kept her ample cleavage covered up, and opted for champagne coloured accessories, save for a large pair of blue Eddera earrings.

Nude peep-toe Christian Louboutin heels completed the look.

Opting for a darker option, Emmy Rossum wore the dress in black in California last week for the Santa Monica Museum of Art Presents The Precognito Gala and Preview.

Emmy styled her look with Jerome C Rousseau pumps and a vintage Ralph Lauren clutch. Smooth hair and smoky eyes complete the ensemble.

Although I like this sophisticated look on Carmen, her accessories aren’t as luxe as Emmy’s.

Emmy’s sleek sophistication wins for me.

MORE FROM RED CARPET FASHION AWARDS:

Posted by Lauren McCarthy on March 22nd, 2012 In: Carmen Electra, Emmy Rossum, Ted Baker, Who Wore It Better?

Emmy Rossum was certainly looking very summery when she stepped onto the red carpet for the 9th Annual John Varvatos Stuart House Benefit in West Hollywood on Sunday.

The ‘Shameless’ actress wore a white Katharine Kidd ensemble.

Her look included a v-neck dress with a draped skirt, which she teamed with a white jacket.

She decided to add a punch to her look with Barbara Bui lavender heels, plus she added a tan Ralph Lauren clutch.

The clutch feels terribly out of place, but it’s a small blip when everything else looks so good.
