BET, Washington

Many of us believed when we first saw these Balenciaga Spring 2008 black and white woven boots, that one of the Olsen twins would be the wear them first, but surprisingly it was Rihanna.

She wore her edgy boots with an all black ensemble.

Cartier Charity Love Bracelet Launch, LA

I was not crazy about this orange burnt velvet brocade rose detailed Christian Dior Spring 2008 dress when I saw it on the runway, but Eva Mendes really gives the dress life, and makes it very appealing.

Chloe Sevigny ‘oh how I have miss thee, let me count the ways’.

The quirky actress has been missing from the red carpet for a while, so it was always refreshing to see her return wearing this simple, but beautiful ivory Sonia Rykiel Fall 2008 dress.

I am loving the glossy straight hair.

Ashanti needed a fabulous dress to match the multi-million dollars worth of jewels she was wearing, so she opted for a creme vintage Thierry Mugler cocktail dress with lattice collar from Decades Inc.

The R&B singer has been hitting the right notes both professionally and visually here on the red carpet.

Eve is truly stunning in this black figure-hugging plunge-neck Rachel Pally gown.

The rapper/actress is of course blinged out with Cartier jewels, but it is her sequined Chanel purse that really caught my eye.

Bridget Moynahan opted for a emerald green one-shouldered knee length cocktail Angel Sanchez dress, with black peep-toes.

Janet Jackson goes through very weird style phases, and I am guessing this is her “baggy” phase.

Those pants are ridiculously big and too long for her, even the hem is falling apart.

Nicole Richie is wearing a floral Dries Van Noten Spring 2008 maxi dress with beaded detail around the neck.

You may remember at the 2008 Oscars that Cate Blanchett wore a very similar Dries Van Noten dress with a beaded neckline.

Fergie gold and silver printed Derercuny Fall 2008 dress with Cartier jewels were totally upstaged by her stunning Jimmy Choo gladiator heels.

Regular readers will know I had a problem with Emmy Rossum’s cutesy promo queen style for a while. Then came the transformation and all was forgiven.

I was gearing up to say how much I liked Emmy in this pale blue satin Dior dress when I saw the side ponytail.

Side ponytails when you are above the age of 10 is just not a great idea.

What she gives with one hand, she takes away with the other.

Haylie Duff shows off her gold earrings, whilst looking incredibly sexy in this strapless LBD with snake-skin heels.

I am not a fan of eye make-up for myself, but I love the shimmering blue eyes on Hilary Duff, which of course matches her blue 3.1 Philip Lim bandeau dress.

Her heels are just awesome.

“Finding Amanda” Screening, New York

Brittany Snow’s eggplant Jill Stuart dress and matching shoes are cute. I love the detail on the bodice.

“The Edge Of Love” Premiere, Edinburgh, Scotland

The stars of The Edge Of Love were suitable colour co-ordinated for their premiere last night.

Sienna Miller wore a long black fringed Jasmine Di Milo Spring 2008 dress with a bowler hat and a Balenciaga clutch.

Her co-star Keira Knightley was less quirky wearing an ivory Chanel Resort 2009 jumpsuit and black sequined couture bolero.

May 28th, 2008

I have not nearly gushed enough about Sarah Jessica Parker’s Nina Ricci Spring 2008 gown. The train was beautiful and had a very marine like feel to it.

Her jewels were by Fred Leighton.

Kristin Davis opted for a gold pleated Donna Karan Pre-Fall 2008 dress which gave her a nipped in waist. This is very much a tried and trusted formula, which works best for her glass hour shape.

What is very interesting about this dress is the ruched hem.

I would not have chosen gold for Kristin, but she pulls if off well.

Her heels and clutch are by Christian Louboutin and her jewels are by Fred Leighton.

Although Kim Cattrall’s Vivienne Westwood dress was nice enough. I had a few issues with it.

Firstly the embellished stripes down the front, may have worked better if they were just plain.

Also the back had a origami-style folded detail, which made the dress from some angles, look like it was unzipped at the back, giving Kim a strange silhouette.

Kim can be seen in many pictures tugging at the fold in a joking manner.

Thank god Cynthia Nixon did not wear black again. This time she opted for a white haltered Narciso Rodriguez Fall 2008 gown with a Bottega Veneta Satin box clutch.

Jennifer Hudson was stunning in her very sexy Peter Soronen Fall 2008 dress. I adore the fit and the cut-out bustline.

This is definitely my second favourite dress of the night.

The bob? LOVE IT. She was on fire last night.

The film gets the Royal seal of approval from Anna Wintour.

Not only does the “Devil Wear Prada”, but she also wears Oscar de la Renta Resort 2009.

Try as she may, this cutesy look just does not work on Fergie.

I really hate this Libertine dress on her.

Singer Mary J Blige wore a white Marchesa shift dress, with a black embroidered trim and carried a silver Lambertson Truex Sienna Nappa/Snakeskin Clutch.

Ashley Olsen is surprisingly not all in black, smiling, and is wearing make-up.

I love the white tuxedo jacket from her own label The Row, it makes her look very grown up and sophisticated. Her corseted belt is by Givenchy and her blouse is vintage Balenciaga.

She completes her look with an envelope clutch by Calvin Klein.

I am sure there was a temptation for Emmy Rossum to go full out prom to this event.

Surprisingly she did not give into her temptation, and opted for this sexy strapless black and white tiered Carmen Marc Valvo Fall 2008 dress with a black accent, which nips her in at the waist.

Writer Candace Bushnell wears this sexy flapper style dress.

Stylist Patricia Field sticks to her quirky style, in this violet metallic mini dress with cut-outs on the sleeves.

Katie Couric wore this white dress with pastel paillettes covering the dress and white satin heels.

Joan Allen decided the pressure of going glamourous to this too much for her, so she opted for jeans and a t-shirt instead.

Even with Lydia Hearst’s heavily embellished Heatherette corset, her fluorescent green Christian Louboutin Privatita platform slingbacks stand out for me.

Michelle Williams goes glam in this silk violet empire-waist gown.

Molly Sims sparkles in a black and silver Tory Burch sequined cocktail dress, which she wore with nude pumps.

Lynn Cohen aka Magda is on trend with her sheer dress and shawl.

Melania Trump arrived with her husband in a white trapeze dress. I am surprised to see Melania in something so loose fitting.

Well……What can I say other than I like Lil’ Kim’s shoes.

I know what else I can say, Holy Hot Mess.

Of course the men were there.

New dad Chris Noth arrived with his baby mama in a crisp taupe suit.

David Eigenberg arrived with a guest who thought white gloves to a premiere was a great idea.

Jason Lewis was there looking as handsome as ever….take a moment to swoon ladies.

Let’s not forget the Mario Cantone, who is one of my favourite characters.

And Willie Garson, who is oh so cute in his trademark glasses.

I am going to see the movie tonight. Can’t wait. Don’t worry, you will not read any spoilers on here.

“Renaissance” Art Exhibition Opening, New York

Diane Kruger’s off-the-shoulder multi-blue silk Salvatore Ferragamo Spring 2008 dress is just the right tonic I need to get into a summery state of mind.

She is having a great week wearing loud colours and prints.

Eva Amurri is very elegant in this tangerine chiffon Salvatore Ferragamo Spring 2008 maxi shirt dress.

She accessorized with a large clutch, and a large jeweled spider ring.

Speaking of large clutches, Lake Bell’s is XXL.

Despite the fact that the clutch is red, I do like it with her asymmetric stripey Salvatore Ferragamo Spring 2008 maxi dress.

“The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian” Premiere, New York

The origami-type folds give Tilda Swinton a streamline shape in her dove grey Jil Sander Fall 2008 dress.

For me I prefer Tilda with minimal or no make-up, as she is fresh and more beautiful without it. I wish I could say the same for myself.

This dress is a vast improvement from her Costume Institute Gala dress.

It is very rare that I can dislike a whole collection, but this is how I felt about the Miu Miu Fall 2008 collection when it was presented in Milan back in March.

Well trust Camilla Belle to make a girl change her mind.

Camilla wore this Miu Miu Fall 2008 cut-out dress over a lyra jumpsuit and looks amazing. I often wondered if I would ever see this collection on the red carpet, and Camilla TOTALLY rocks it.

5th Annual Candies Foundation “Event to Prevent” Benefit

Taylor Swift is radiant in this blush and silver beaded Badgley Mischka Fall 2008 cocktail dress.

Taylor also wore Badgley Misckha to the Costume Institute Gala and looked amazing in her golden dress.

Are we seeing the new Fall 2008 campaign girl?

Mischa Barton successfully pulls off wearing underwear as outerwear with this floral Chloë Sevigny for Opening Ceremony bustier.

2008 Pratt Institute Fashion Icon Award, New York

I love how his the brown belt nips in Emmy Rossum’s waist over her caramel pleated Carmen Marc Valvo Fall 2007 one-shouldered gown.

Emmy is consistently improving.

2nd Annual Linked Against Leukemia Gala to Benefit DKMS, New York

Eva Mendes is hot…smokin’ in this eggplant strapless sequined Calvin Klein Collection gown. She still needs to work on her pout though.

Allure’s “Most Alluring Bodies” Photography Exhibition, New York

I feel like seen this bustier style type dress on Hilary Duff a few too many times, but she does look amazing in her black satin Celine Spring 2008 dress.

Her hair is gorgeous though.

Katharine McPhee wore a flirty purple cocktail dress by Jay Godfrey with a pair of sexy strappy sandals.

134th Kentucky Derby, Kentucky

Heidi Montag’s collection must be selling well, as she is able to continually wear high end designer clothes from Chloé and now this Ralph Lauren Spring 2008 cute mini strapless tiered floral dress.

I must say she does look great here. LOVE the hat.

I like the hat better than the dress on Gabrielle Union. The dress even has a slight hole on the side.

I love that Kendra Wilkerson keeps to her own style, and does not dress do “Pageant Queen” like Bridget Marquardt and Holly Madison always do.

The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center’s “Women’s Night 2008″, LA

Sharon Stone stunned me by looking amazing in this black Roberto Cavalli babydoll ruffled dress.

“Speed Racer” Premiere, New York

Christina Ricci carries another B.Romanek clutch, this time with a sexy black keyhole Balmain Fall 2008 dress.

Eva Amurri has had a great run on the red carpet. Although I love her stunning taupe and pink peep-toes, I do think this Herve Leger dress is slightly ill fitting around her bust line. The dress should not be gaping at the sides like that.

Race To Erase MS, LA

Emmy Rossum now as a new hairstyle to go with her new sexier look, and I like it. Emmy would have never has worn such a dress a few months ago.

I love this new direction. She is wearing a Tommy Hilfiger dress and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes.

Andrea Bowen is another star who is always making great strides on the red carpet. Her style was always for a woman 30 years older than her. I love the bright pink taffeta skirt.

Like Emmy, Andrea would never have worn this a few months ago.

Garcelle Beauvais is a very sexy is this red strapless thigh-high split dress.

Can you believe this woman had a baby a few weeks ago?

Anne Heche is lucky that she just about carries this Herve LeRoux gown off for me. Not so much a keyhole dress, more like a gaping hole dress.

Maria Menounos has a serious case of the lollypop head. This is so unattractive and the halter-neck only accentuates the issue.

What has she done to herself?

Eat something.

Iron Man Screening, New York

I must admit, I never expected to see this cut-out Stella McCartnery Fall 2008 dress on the red carpet, let alone on Gwyneth Paltrow.

Gwynie is enjoying herself on the red carpet lately in daring dress, this one the most daring yet. Her modest is cleverly protected.

Had this dress been worn by Lindsay Lohan, it would have looked very trashy, on Gwynie, it’s sexy and sophisticated.

Liv Tyler did not dare to bare as much as Gwynie, as she wore a cream cotton oversized Stella McCartney sweater dress with paillette embellishments throughout.

She teamed in mini dress with a pair of matching strappy sandals.

Helena Christensen gives us her trademark smoldering look, wearing a belted tan Michael Kors Resort 2008 dress with gold sandals.

“Made of Honor” Premiere, New York

Michelle Monaghan wore a sweetheart neck-lined ombre Monique Lhuiller Fall 2008 gown with a jeweled detail at the waist.

Michelle is rarely on the red carpet, but with her movies to promote, we have seen a lot of her recently. She looks as sophisticated and elegant as ever.

Chanel Dinner Party, New York

Blake Lively for me has been superseded by Leighton Meester on the red carpet. This nude and lace bubble hemmed Chanel dress looks good on her, but I am by no means wowed by it.

Mary Kate Olsen matches a navy blazer with a black bubble hemmed dress.

I wish she applied a bit of lippy.

Launch of the Scarlet HD TV series, LA

Emmy Rossum wastes a gorgeous Herve LeRoux dress on such an occasion.

Heidi Montag proudly wears her own - now sold out at Kitson - Heidiwood signature jeans.

Lauren Conrad opted for a monochrome bubble hemmed French Connection dress, which is not surprisingly not from her own Lauren Conrad Collection.

The Hottie and the Nottie actress Christine Lakin wore a red black and white colour block Diane von Furstenberg strapless dress with black pumps.

Lindsay Lohan dress is hideous, and her roots are unforgivable.

I have been informed that her dress is Catherine Malandrino. Are you as shocked as I am?

MTV TRL, New York

Michelle Monaghan adds a stunning necklace to her Lanvin Spring 2008 mini dress.

“Trucker” Premiere, New York

I am a little disappointed that Michelle Monaghan wore these fushcia Etro Spring 2008 fringed shoes, because for me they do not work with her stunning black and white Bill Blass Fall 2008 waistcoat dress.

Metropolitan Opera “La Fille Du Regiment” Opening Night, New York

Finally, Emmy Rossum is wearing something that is not baby pink, pastel blue or canary yellow.

Regular readers will know that I have been tiring of Emmy’s cutesy/prom style for a long while. Last night she looked ultra sexy in a YSL Fall 2007 ruffled strapless mini dress.

Leighton Meester wears a mustard YSL Pre-Fall 2008 dress, which is a slight modification of the much worn grey YSL dress from the Spring 2008 collection.

Love the dress and make-up, hate the hair.

Oh Diane Kruger, how I have missed you on the red carpet. Uber glamourous, as usual in YSL Couture.

Naomi Campbell and YSL designer, Stefano Pilati arrived at this event together sparking rumours that the blackberry throwing diva, will star in his Fall 2008 advertising campaign.

Naomi is wearing a tuxedo ensemble from the YSL Fall 2008 which is a surprisingly masculine look for her.

Whether this is a campaign preview, we will have to wait see.

I like Eva Mendes’ dress, but not the black hem, as it’s too distracting on this strapless YSL gown.

Girlfriend needs to work on her posing, that pout looks very strange.

Ginnifer Goodwin is one of the unsung heroines of the red carpet. She looks effortlessly chic as always.

I wish Paula Patton had paid as much attention to styling her hair, as she did picking out this gorgeous silk fuschia YSL Spring 2008 one-shouldered gown.

On anyone else this dress would have been a disaster. On Rinko Kikuchi it perfectly suits her quirky sense of style.

The hair is another issue. It looks like a very bad toupe.

“Then She Found Me” Screening, New York

Sarah Jessica Parker how I love thee, let me count the ways.

Dress, shoes ♥, hair…perfection all the way.

Although I do like Victoria Beckham’s matchy style. I do love how SJP rocks ruby peep-toes with a floral dress.

Would you have thought of that?

Me neither.
