Emily Deschanel In Max Azria - 2014 People’s Choice Awards

Emily Deschanel made a dramatic stand on the red carpet of the 40th annual People’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.

The ‘Bones’ star wore a geometric, pleated Max Azria gown with subtle black, white and dusty pink color-blocking.

I love the art deco nature of this gown, and think it was a fun but ladylike choice for the star.

Her Edie Parker clutch and Swarovski ring and earrings complete the Gatsby-esque style and are perfectly suited to the gown.

Her blue-tinged smokey eye adds additional drama to the look, while her simple chignon lets the makeup and styling remain center stage.

I’m actually not crazy about the eye makeup for this look–it seems something more simplistic would be better suited for the ensemble, but I do love the fashion choices.

Emily Deschanel rocked the lace trend on the red carpet at the 2013 Emmy Awards.

The ‘Bones’ actress wore a custom vegan, one-sleeve Houghton gown in a gorgeous slate gray.

Her easy updo, pink lips and bold eye are a fresh and flattering beauty look and the perfect compliment to the gown.

And keeping in the theme of her gown, Emily wore custom vegan dyeable peep-toe ALDO pumps.

Emily Deschanel In Badgley Mischka - 2013 Golden Globe Awards

Emily Deschanel turned heads on the red carpet at the 2013 Golden Globes on Sunday.

The actress cut a striking figure in an understatedly sexy Badgley Mischka gown paired with an assortment of chic accoutrements.

Emily truly steals the show in a sea of frothy frocks, standing out wearing a black column gown with deco beading details on the shoulder.

Opting for a minimalist, slicked-back hairstyle and a classic smoky eye, Emily accessorized with a charcoal-hued shimmering clutch, and luxe – yet subtle – jewels including a Plukka ‘Hera’ cuff.

Emily usually fades into the background but this unique, fierce look made her stand out.

Here are the rest of the looks which hit the red carpet on Saturday evening at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

Jennifer Morrison: The actress would have stood out more than most wearing a vibrant red Romona Keveza Spring 2012 silk/chiffon gown with a plunging neckline. A black Daniel Swarovski ‘Gala’ clutch with silver crystal border and a hot red lip colour to match her dress completed her look.

Brenda Strong: The ‘Dallas’ actress shimmered down the red carpet looking sensational wearing a Marc Bouwer gown with bold shoulders and silver sequin details throughout. Slightly surprised by the nude sandals and the contrasting gold clutch, but it’s a stunning look nonetheless.

Padma Lakshmi: The TV host looked stunning wearing a Zuhair Murad Spring 2012 sheer black gown with an embroidered floral detail and a corseted back. She wisely let the gown do all the talking.

Julia Ormond: The ‘Mad Men’ actress opted for a red David Meister signature gown with a cowl-neckline which she styled with a gold python Devi Kroell large Mercer clutch and matching strappy sandals. I love the statement earrings and the side-swept wavy locks.

Sarah Hyland: The young actress wore a Collette Dinnigan dress. Her beautiful asymmetrical ‘Swan Lake’ one-shoulder dress is from the designer’s vintage collection. I love the beautiful embroidered detail which really sparkled on the red carpet. A chic updo, a silver bracelet and satin beige peep-toes to match her dress completed her look. She was one of my favourites on the night.

Hayden Panettiere: The actress wore a Keepsake ‘Lost Without You’ aqua-blue dress we have seen twice before on the red carpet. It’s still a pretty dress, so I don’t mind the threepeat; what I take objection to are those horrid nude patent peep-toes she wore with this ultra-feminine dress. A gold glitter clutch completed her look.

Christina Hendricks: I don’t like anything about her look. She has really lost her mojo. As we have said time and time again she needs to get the Mad Men stylists to dress her for events too.

Many stars from ‘Glee’ took to the red carpet at the 2011 Fox All-Star Party at Villa Sorriso in Pasadena, CA last night.

Jayma Mays looked stunning wearing in a hot pink Romona Keveza dress.

Her plunging dress is breath-taking, but she lets herself down with uninspiring footwear which do not complement her dress.

Dianna Agron usually goes for sugary sweet dresses, but on this occasion she wore a simple black Prada dress teamed with a red ribbon belt.

Emily Deschanel was my favourite at this event.

She had movie star presence on the red carpet wearing a BCBG Max Azria dress with asymmetrical lines and lace details.

I also loved her textured clutch and steel cap pumps.

She’s a worthy BDOTW contender don’t you think?
