September 30th, 2009

Drew Barrymore has another WWIB? poll coming her way as she wore the same black fitted L’Wren Scott lacquered tweed dress from the Fall 2009 collection, which Nicole Kidman wore just last week to the White Ribbon Alliance dinner.

Ironically they both wore red peep-toes too.

What I didn’t notice about this dress from Nicole, is that it has a sexy red exposed zipper at the back.

Eve broke up the very black red carpet, by wearing a burgundy Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2009 bustier fitted dress with black peep-toes.

Love the dress and sleek silhouette it gives Eve, but I hate the hair.

I’m not at all surprised that Ellen Page is wearing black, but I am surprised she’s wearing this very sexy Alexander Wang Slim Grommet dress.

When she was promoting “Juno”, it was a struggle to get her into a dress, now she looks grown up, confident and sexy in a dress we’ve seen a few times already this year.

Ellen wore her dress with Rachel Comey Cavat boots.

Serena Williams continues her good form on the red carpet, wearing a gold sequined Gryphon racer back tank top, paired with a black blazer and cropped pants.

Either someone has a new stylist, or someone has learnt that cute frilly dresses don’t suit a masculine frame.

Shenae Grimes opted for a cute ivory and black striped Sass & Bide dress, paired with double ankle strapped heels.

Best Dressed Award

Charlize Theron wore this silver metallic Proenza Schouler Pre-Fall 2008 bustier with black super skinny pants.

The actress wore a sexy pair of Roger Vivier heels.

Best Boots Award
Sarah Jessica Parker looked amazing again last night, wearing a chocolate shimmering L’Wren Scott Fall 2008 turtleneck dress. Only SJP can get away with wearing a dress this tight.

Check out the white lace up Louboutin boots. Of course they are not out yet. A Fall preview perhaps?

Best Couple Award
Zanessa aka Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron did not walk the yellow carpet, but they were snapped together.

Vanessa wore a summery plunging neckline sea shell-patterned Diane von Furstenberg dress, and her beau, Zac wore a navy blue sheen suit and white shirt by Moschino Uomo.

Best Style Transformation Award
Who would have thought lil’ Miss Anne Hathaway could pull off such an edgy look?

From the neck down she is almost unrecognisable in her edgy one-shouldered Sophia Kokosalaki black dress.

Best Hair Transformation Award
Audrina Patridge was determined to make an impact on the red carpet following her fall out with Lauren Conrad, and she successfully accomplished that with her new bangs.

I like her new ‘do, as her head does not appear to be as long and round.

Her navy satin dress is by Lloyd Klein.

Pretty In Pink Award
Liv Tyler wore a cute bubblegum pink Lanvin strapless toga dress with a gathered hem.

She carried a pink clutch, and wore a animal print pair of Louboutin heels.

Best Ruffles Award
Rocker Lucy Walsh just about pulls off this Christian Siriano Fall 2008 halter-neck purple ruffled dress without looking too much like an ostrich.

Best Couple Coordination Award
Paris Hilton and Benji Madden were perfectly coordinated in their black and white ensembles.

Paris wore a strapless Betsey Johnson lace embellished dress, which has a fitted bodice and a bubbled hem.

Keeping It Real Award
Well what did you expect Ellen Page to wear? Boob tube and mini skirt?

Last night she wore a black Suh-tahn leather jacket, black skinny pants and a white Suh-tahn t-shirt.

Best Herve Leger Award
OK, she looks like a blow up doll, but out of all the Herve Leger dresses that were worn last night, I loved the colour of this Adelisa strapless dress.

Best Use Of Colour Award
I love the multi-colours of Emma Stone strapless Blumarine dress. Her navy heels and orange clutch perfectly compliment her dress.

Best Silhouette Award
I love how this cobalt blue asymmetric dress from her own Lauren Conrad Collection, gives Lauren Conrad such a sexy silhouette. I did not know she had this body, as she always wears such loose fitting clothes.

Best Frenemy Award
Stephannie Pratt looks cute in this purple leopard print spaghetti strapped dress, but I am not sure about her sidewalk clutch.

Stephanie is obviously enjoying the benefits of being Lauren’s friend.

Best Bubble Hem Award
There were a lot of bubble hemmed dresses last night. But the uniquely quirky Whitney Port’s red brocade Nicole Miller dress, was by far the most interesting.

I love the contrasting chunky heels, which were interlaced with blue and yellow ribbon.

Ellen Page never tries to be something she is not - a girlie girl - so for her Japanese promotion of her hit movie Juno in Tokyo, Ellen stuck to her usual style of jeans and a t-shirt.

Not any old T-shirt, her favoured Worn Free t-shirts, which she wore earlier this year, when she appeared on SNL.

This t-shirt is available for $40 at www.wornfree.com.

I would be interested to know if Ellen Page actually owns a dress. I bet she does not.

We have COLOUR.

Oscar nominee Ellen Page hosted the prestigious NBC show Saturday Night Live last weekend in her usual casual style.

She wore throughout the show two different rock and roll inspired shirts by t-shirt designer Worn Free. She revived the looks of Joan Jett in her legendary Peacock t-shirt as well as Blondie’s Debbie Harry in her Camp Funtime t-shirt.

Both t-shirts are available for $40 at www.wornfree.com.

Worn Free is a rock and roll t-shirt label with a mission to resurrect the most iconic shirts of our time. Worn Free reproduces vintage tees famously worn by such rock legends as John Lennon, Joey Ramone, The Doors, Blondie’s Debbie Harry and Joan Jett, among others. Celebrity fans include Jennifer Aniston, Keith Urban, Ryan Gosling, Eva Mendes and now Ellen Page.

Worst Dressed Award
I love Tilda Swinton and her very unique style - which is not to everyone’s tastes - but I just did not like this Lanvin dress.

I hated that one long shoulder. It really did not work for me.

Risk That Failed Award
Julie Christie tried to be edgy, tried not to conform to the norm by choosing a cocktail dress which she designed herself along with long pink sheer gloves from the Louis Vuitton Spring 2008 collection, but just ended up looking very confused.

Worst Pouting Award
Miley Cyrus posing and pouting was SOOOOOOO inappropriate. So many young girls would have tuned in the Oscars just to see a 15 year old girl, pouting like Paris Hilton.

Her Valentino Resort 2008 red gown was stunning though, thankfully not to short nor revealing.

She completed her look with Neil Lane jewels and a Mary Norton clutch.

Most Disappointing Award
The L’Wren Scott diamond necklace was too over powering on Nicole Kidman’s simple custom-made Balenciaga gown. The necklace was obviously designed to detract you from her baby bump and it worked.

The looks is completed with a Bottega Veneta clutch.

Worst Haute Couture Award
Sarah Larson was way out of her league in this Valentino Spring 2008 Couture strapless gown.

Girlfriend did not own it. She just hobbled alongside George Clooney, smiling like a Miss World contestant.

This is why I love Keisha Whitaker so much. Keisha owns a dress, and outshines her husband Forest, despite him being the star.

Sarah’s hair is also terrible. It is a little lighter in colour than usual, but she could have put it up or done something different.

Worst Hair Award
I was not crazy about Jennifer Garner’s hair. For an updo I found it a little messy on the left-hand side.

I was not particularly in love with her black silk taffeta Oscar de la Renta fishtail gown either. The skirt was way too busy.

Jennifer wore Van Cleef & Arpels diamonds and a Roger Vivier clutch.

Back To Black Award
I was not shocked that Ellen Page wore black tonight.

Her in vintage gown from Jean Louis Scherrer Haute Couture collection was just a tad boring. I loved how they tried to jazz up her outfit with the long Fred Leighton necklace, but it was not enough.

Her metal and metallic leather hard frame vintage Judith Leiber purse completed the look.

DeJa Vu Award
Amy Adams emerald green strapless satin Proenza Schouler gown gave me a touch of deja vu, back to last years Oscars, where Isla Fisher’s look was very similar.

The dress itself is beautiful, as she is in it, but she loses points for not being original.

Amy teamed her dress with an Art Nouveau French gold-mesh purse by Fred Leighton that would not even fit a credit card.

Worst Pregnant Award
After Cate Blanchett looked amazing in Vera Wang at the Spirit Awards, I had high hopes for her Oscars dress.

Unfortunately she let me down big time in this Dries Van Noten gown. What I particularly did not like was the neckline. It was a little bit to busy for me.

Her look was completed with Lorraine Schwartz jewels and a Roger Vivier clutch.

Worst Use Of Colour Award
Ryan Seacrest called the colour on Kelly Preston’s Roberto Cavalli dress “stop-light amber”. I just call it hideous.

Most Boring Award
Rosamund Pike RM by Roland Mouret dress is a pretty colour, but I was nothing but bored by it. It’s the Oscars, jazz it up a little.

When Will You Get It Right On The Big Night? Award
I love this Roberto Cavalli white dress, especially the snake-skin beaded detail, but I really disliked the way her breast sat in the dress. Very unflattering.

February 24th, 2008

I guess Angelina Jolie is pregnant then.

She wore a black, silk-crepe dress by Western Costume, with Gara Danielle Fine Jewelry gold and diamond snake ring, and Christian Louboutin shoes.

One hot mama.

Speaking of pregnant…look how stunning Cate Blanchett is in Vera Wang.

I can’t wait to see what she wears tomorrow.

This Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2008 ensemble would not be easy to pull off, because the colour are so strong.

Many would have stayed away from this look, but not Kerry Washington. She looks gorgeous.

Eva Mendes looks happy and healthy in a grey turtleneck Calvin Klein sheath dress with a yellow clutch.

Jada Pinkett-Smith is having a great week on the red carpet. This ivory silk Michael Kors Pre-Fall 2008 cocktail dress was the perfect choice, along with her yellow clutch.

Ellen Page sticks to her usual black with a white shirt.

I pray she wears colour tomorrow at the Oscars….and a dress for that matter.

Sienna Miller looks beautiful even without make-up, wearing a back haltered Monique Lhuillier lace cocktail dress.

The dress has a beautiful neckline of organza ruffles and a bow.

Tang Wei arrived in an artistic print dress from the Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2008 collection.

No one bores me more on the red carpet than Kate Beckinsale.

She, like her dress, have no personality.

I love the print on Eliza Dushku kimono sleeve dress. Like most of the others on this red blue carpet, she did not opt for black.
