The Art of Elysium “Bright Lights” with Versus – Joy Bryant In Versus & Donatella Versace In Versace

Donatella Versace was the host at The Art of Elysium “Bright Lights” with Versus fundraiser on Friday.

Whilst her guest Joy Bryant was decked out in a Versus Fall 2010 printed tee and black pants, Donatella was the glamorous host wearing a strapless dress from her Versace Spring 2010.

The dress is modified into a strapless dress as Donatella has already worn the white version earlier this year.

I would’ve loved to have seen Joy wearing one of the mini dresses, she certainly has the legs to work the look.

2010 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner – Donatella Versace In Atelier Versace

For the second year in a row Donatella Versace attended the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner in Washington DC.

Like last year she wore a modified Atelier Versace gown.

I loved this purple Atelier Versace Spring 2010 one-shoulder gown when it was presented.

Many of you want to see Taylor Swift, Blake Lively or Zoe Saldana wear this gown.

If they do I hope they wear the presented version, because Donatella’s modified version is not blowing me away.

Whilst I understand she doesn’t like to show too much skin, I would’ve liked her version more had she kept the turquoise details.

But then this is a White House Dinner and not a red carpet event in Cannes, so I guess it is modified to suit the occasion.

Versace Home Collection Launch – Donatella Versace In Versace

Yesterday in Milan, Donatella Versace presented the Spring 2011 Versace Home Collection during Milan Design Week.

The designer of course wore a dress of her own design and of course, we haven’t seen the exact dress on the runway.

Wearing a trademark fitted dress, Donatella used the print from a jacket which was presented in the Spring 2010 collection, to create a black and purple dress to suit her own style.

Even her footwear appears to be modified from the Spring 2010 runway.

She really is a law unto herself.

Versace Spring 2010 Collection Unveiling At Joyce Boutique – Donatella Versace In Versace

Donatella Versace is still in Hong Kong looking fabulous – as always – in her own designs.

This week she unveiled her 2010 Spring collection at Joyce Boutique with Andrew Keith the president the boutique.

Her white Spring 2010 dress with silver embroidered details was lengthen from the runway, as she paired her look with Spring 2010 silver platform heels.

I know many of you struggle with many aspects of Donatella’s look, but she’ll always be fabulous to me.

Like Georgina and Vicky B, no one wears her designs quite like her….excluding Gisele of course.

Versace’s presence in Asia is becoming stronger, where the red carpets are dominated by Chanel, Christian Dior and most recently Salvatore Ferragamo.

The unveling was much like the finale at the Versace Spring 2010 presentation last year.

2010 Asian Film Awards

Donatella Versace walked the red carpet at the 2010 Asian Film Awards last night which was held in Hong Kong.

The fashion designer was there to present the “Best Costume Designer Award” which was awarded to the Taiwanese film “Face”.

I LOVE what Donatella is wearing.

The colour is so much more vibrant than the runway colour.  It really pops on the red carpet and against her platinum blonde hair.

We know that Donatella like modifies her runway pieces, because as she told me last season “I’m not a model.”

On this occasion she simply filled the cut-outs and gave her skirt a heavier lining.

BDOTW for me.

Gao Yuanyuan wore a beautiful strapless Versace Spring 2010 lilac gown with a central split.

Her hair was swept up into an elegant updo whilst she added silver jewels to complement her gown.

Donatella wore this gown last year to the Oi Fashion Rock Brazil event.

Chang Yung-yung wears the same pink Versace Spring 2010 flowing dress we recently saw on Tinsley Mortimer at Elton John’s Oscar party.

I much prefer the dress strapless as it was presented on the runway.

Guey Lun-mei didn’t get the Versace memo.

Instead the beautiful actress opted for a white Christian Dior Fall 2009 dress with silver embroidered detail on the skirt.

The dress was paired with a silver Dior clutch.

It’s such a simple dress, but the embroidered detail and clutch add a touch of magic to the look.

Zhou Xun also didn’t get the memo.

The actress is usually seen wearing Chanel, so her Chanel Fall 2009 Couture dress is not a surprise.

We have said how we loathed the trains on many of the pieces from this collection.

Only Kate Hudson has opted to keep the train on her dress, whereas Diane Kruger and Keira Knightley have opted out of wearing the train.

Without the train on Zhou’s dress it would’ve been very plain, so I’m glad she didn’t modify her look on this occasion.
