Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Dita Von Teese looked stunning on the red carpet in London last night for her Cointreau Prive pop-up bar at The Pigalle Club.

She donned a Tadashi Shoji Spring 2012 gown.

The ivory plunging gown also had a dangerously low open back, so low that it leaves little to the imagination, but the burlesque dancer is used to parading around in much less.

What I refer to as Dita’s signatures – retro waves and red lippie – many of you refer to as boring and repetitive.

The gown works wonders for Dita, leaving the model in the shade.

Dita von Teese attended the 2011 MOCA Gala in LA on Saturday night.

She stunned wearing a Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2002 Couture gown.

This is a true ‘we are not worthy’ moment.

No one can do gothic couture like Dita.

Her black velvet corseted gown with a cape draping over one shoulder was teamed with all of Dita’s trademark accessories, retro waves and red lippie.

Bvlgari jewels completed her look.

This is my second BDOTW contender.

Dita von Teese attended the ‘Rendez Vous with Alber Elbaz’ at the Carondelet House on Friday.

The burlesque star opted for a Lanvin floral print dress from the Fall 2011 collection.

Her black and white floral-print dress was teamed with a pair of light denier tights and satin black pumps.

I’m not sure that her dress needed that statement necklace, as it details enough with the lantern sleeves and bold floral details, but Dita of course makes it work.

A retro updo and red lips completed her look.

You may remember that Carina Lau also wore this dress recently.

Over the weekend, Dita von Teese was in Lavazza Marquee for the Victoria Derby Day, which took place in Melbourne, Australia.

The burlesque star wore a red one-shoulder dress from her Dita Von Teese ‘Muse’ Collection.

She paired the frock with a scarlet-hued Philip Treacy hat that was adorned with a faux rose flower and feathers.

The rest of the ensemble was teamed with a matching clutch and pumps, which made her outfit feel too safe for my liking.

Her look was completed with her signature red lip and black winged liner.

The dress itself is classic and fits the vintage-loving gal well. But, frankly, the hat seems to be too over-the-top. I would have much preferred to see her with a smaller fascinator and more interesting accessories.

Dita von Teese was in Melbourne, Australia yesterday for the launch of her first ever clothing line, Dita Von Teese ‘Muse’ Collection.

The Burlesque Queen designed her very own limited edition collection, which will allow us to emulate her ladylike look.

The collection of only five pieces, which includes vintage-inspired dresses and a tulle layered trench coat, will be sold exclusively through Australian retailer David Jones.

We should expect couture detailing, cinched-in waists, vintage inspirations and impeccable attention to detail.

The collection will be available at David Jones from February 2012.

Dita opted for a bold, colourful look for the launch which included a floral print dress and red hot signature touches.

Dita von Teese attended the premiere of “God Save My Shoes” held at the Paris Theatre in New York last night.

The burlesque star opted for a red long sleeve Elie Saab Fall 2011 cocktail dress which is cinched at the waist with a red leather belt.

It’s a silhouette familiar to Dita but she sticks to it because it works with her beautiful curvy figure.

Dita added all red accessories to her look including a Lulu Guinness diamond-embellished “Lips” clutch and silk Christian Louboutin peep-toe bow heels.

It looks like red shoes are going to continue to become a hot red carpet trend.

She finished her look with her trademark red lips, red and white half-moon nails, bold eyebrows and a Forties-inspired hairstyle.
