Dita Von Teese In Aurelio Costarella - Melbourne Cup Day

Dita von Teese joined Coco Rocha and Kate Waterhouse in Australia on Tuesday for Melbourne Cup Day.

The burlesque star is no stranger to a dramatic fashion statement, and this orchid-adorned headpiece from her friend, master UK milliner Philip Treacy, certainly gave her a leg up on the head-turning front.

To keep on with the summery aesthetic, Dita wore a crisp, form-fitted white jacket (also detailed with orchids at the shoulder) and a knee-length pencil skirt set, both by Australian designer Aurelio Costarella. Her matching purple orchid-hued lace corset peeked through, offering the perfect colour complement to the outfit’s floral theme.

Dita von Teese In Carolina Herrera - Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts Inaugural Gala

Dita von Teese joined a host of stars on the red carpet for the Wallis Annenberg Center For Performing Arts Inaugural Gala held at the Wallis Annenberg Center in Beverly Hills, California yesterday evening.

The best thing about Dita’s current Carolina Herrera phase is that Carolina doesn’t make that many black gowns, so we are seeing Dita experiment more with colour.

On this occasion she selected an amethyst floral lace dress with beaded shoulder detail and amethyst pony beaded belt from Carolina Herrera’s Fall 2013 collection; styled with a matching clutch and of course her signature red lips.

Despite wish the neckline was more open, I love the gothic romantic vibe I get from Dita in this dress.

You may remember that Minka Kelly wore this same dress to the Met Gala.

Dita Von Teese In Zac Posen - Cecconi's Restaurant

Dita Von Teese was spotted lunching at Cecconi’s Restaurant in West Hollywood, California yesterday afternoon.

Reaching for the non-black side of her closet, the burlesque model wore a Zac Posen Spring 2013 frock.

Her fitted floral-print dress with sheer ruffle-detail flutter sleeves, a plunging V-neck and a ruffled skirt was styled with a pair of maroon patent-leather wedges, a matching leather clutch and sexy cat-eye Tom Ford shades.

I love the effortlessness and colour coordination of this look and, of course, I love the fact that it’s a pretty, flirty dress that is not in her favoured colour.

Dita von Teese In Carolina Herrera - Generation W Party and Vanity Fair’s ‘Celebration of the 2013 International Best Dressed List’

Dita von Teese joined Michelle Dockery at the Generation W Party and Vanity Fair’s ‘Celebration of the 2013 International Best Dressed List’ on Monday evening in New York City.

The burlesque star wore her second Carolina Herrera Fall 2013 look in a row, having fallen for the charms of the designer’s pieces while attending her Spring 2014 show this weekend.

On this occasion she wore a rose-quartz modern houndstooth-print silk gown with velvet trims.

I never pictured Dita in this gown, mostly because it’s not fully black, but she wears it well, with the colour complementing her fair skin.

As for the styling, well, same as always.

Front Row @ Caroline Herrera Spring 2014

Carolina Herrera’s Spring 2014 runway saw a host of sophisticated stars taking their front-row seats for the Monday showing at The Theatre at Lincoln Center in New York City, where they all wore an eclectic mix of the designer’s offerings.

Michelle Dockery: The ‘Downton Abbey’ star was lovely in a sophisticated cerulean-toned separates, including a floral-printed, Peter Pan-collar blouse and a demure, flared skirt, from the Fall 2013 collection. Silver pumps and EF Collection earrings provided the shine to that electric blue shade. Karolina Kurkova strutted out the same print several months ago.

Christina Ricci: Also in a Fall 2013 ensemble, the actress wore a sheer devoré velvet dress that featured an exploded dahlia pattern, although I wasn’t crazy about the way the lining translated in photos. Also channeling her inner metallic maven, she put on a pair of silver Jimmy Choo ‘Anouk’ pumps to complete the look.

Dita von Teese: Always showing her flair for the dramatic, the burlesque queen’s Fall 2013 ensemble featured a green-and-black blouson-sleeve top with a similar dahlia print and a super-wide-leg pair of too-shiny pants. A Christian Louboutin ‘Sweety Charity Brode Strass’ embroidered, chain-accented black evening clutch—and Dita’s forever red lip—finished the look, which translated as a bit heavy for the front row action.

Brittany Snow: Following Dita’s red-lipped lead, Brittany showed her style cards with a Pre-Fall 2013 dress, showered in mini hearts, spades, diamonds and clubs. She accessorized with an angular red clutch and strappy crimson sandals, along with dainty Dana Rebecca Designs earrings and rings by EF Collection.
