Amy Adams In Valentino – 2014 Golden Globe Awards

GG14_AmyAdams

Amy Adams graced the red carpet at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 12) in Beverly Hills, California.

Amy, who was nominated for her role in ‘American Hustle’ wore a gown by Valentino Haute Couture from the Shanghai collection. And despite the Asian influence of the design, Amy’s dress seemed very reminiscent of the 70’s era in which ‘American Hustle’ is set. Maybe she felt some fashion crossover with her character.

The two different hues of red felt modern compared to the traditional red bombshell-style dresses normally seen on the red carpet. Amy’s gown was a mix of sex appeal–hello, plunging neckline!–and ladylike, thanks to the soft demure skirt.

The actress accessorized wisely with Brian Atwood shoes, a long gold chain pendant necklace, and diamond drop earrings.

This is a bit of a departure from Amy’s typical red carpet style. Do you like the change?

Berenice Bejo In Giambattista Valli Couture – 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Berenice Bejo In Giambattista Valli Couture - 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Bérénice Bejo was another lady-in-red at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday (January 12).

She didn’t shy away from the drama in her crimson-hued Giambattista Valli Fall 2013 Couture confection.

Despite the powerfully potent colour, the rest of the gown just seemed to be overwhelming on the petite actress—from the bold shoulder to the flurry of floral-like embellishment, even the diaphanous long train.

Perhaps the added lining of the skirt, which was not seen on the runway, was the root of the heaviness here.

Likewise, she certainly didn’t require as many pieces from the Dior Fine Jewelry collection, despite how stunning they were. The hoop earrings needed to disappear.

While I appreciated the artistry of the gown, I couldn’t shake the fact that it seemed to detract rather than enhance Bérénice’s natural beauty. The dress ultimately seemed to be wearing her. What do you think?

Heidi Klum In Marchesa – 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Heidi Klum In Marchesa - 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Heidi Klum was among the many stars to walk the red carpet of the 2014 Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles this evening (January 12).

The supermodel wore a gauzy black and white Marchesa gown from the designer’s Spring 2014 collection, a Marchesa clutch and Christian Louboutin ‘Gwynitta’ sandals.

I’m honestly disappointed here. By shortening the lining of the dress and raising the belt up to create an empire waist, Heidi has seriously diminished the romantic quality this gown had on the runway.

The necklace is also completely out of place.

On a positive note, I like seeing Heidi mix things up from her normal tightly pulled updo and she wears the thick fringe quite well.

Helen Mirren In Jenny Packham – 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Helen Mirren attended the 2014 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 12), hosted at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in California.

Always a red carpet pro, Helen Mirren donned a design by Jenny Packham bespoke.

The ‘Phil Spector’-nominated actress chose a spring-like shade of green, which looked lovely on her. The beaded, long-sleeved gown had slight draping and ruching that showed off Helen’s curves and tiny waist.

The actress upped the ante with her red carpet style with a Roger Vivier Maxi Boite de Nuit Fleur clutch and emerald and diamond jewels from Bulgari.

Zosia Mamet In Reem Acra – 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Zosia Mamet In Reem Acra - 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Zosia Mamet strutted down the red carpet of the 2014 Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles this evening (January 12).

The ‘Girls’ star wore a black-floral accented white Reem Acra gown from the Fall 2013 collection.

It seems her newly shorn locks have given Zosia a little boost of confidence, because gone are her typically slouchy red carpet poses and her sullen expression.

The dress is classy and right on-trend, and the bob is maybe the best beauty decision the star has ever made–it’s really working.

My one wish is that there was some red lipstick on that wry smile, but overall, this is such a great improvement, I can’t complain.

Laura Dern In Roberto Cavalli – 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Laura Dern In Roberto Cavalli - 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Laura Dern was at her best on the 2014 Golden Globe Awards red carpet Sunday evening (January 12) in Beverley Hills.

The actress, whose father was in Best Picture nominee ‘Nebraska’, wore belted, bronze dress by Roberto Cavalli, Rupert Sanderson ‘Elba’ pumps, a ring by Graziela Gems, earrings by Ivy and a clutch by Ferragamo.

The snakeskin-inspired embroidery is beautifully executed, the belt keeps things modern and the dress skims Laura’s body in an oh-so-flattering way.

What really make this look pop are Laura’s newly auburn tresses though. As a blond, this dress would have washed Laura out, but the warm tone ties everything together.

A dusty rose lip is the perfect finishing detail.

Mila Kunis In Gucci Première – 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Mila Kunis In Gucci Première - 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Mila Kunis was dripping in silver, much like Kate Beckinsale, at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards, hosted at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday (January 12).

Playing every bit the metallic maven, the actress and presenter rocked a Gucci Première backless halter gown.

The flashy, sequin-encrusted gunmetal bodice cascaded into a fluid dove-grey skirt that trailed behind, which added a faintly romantic quality to all that armor of dazzle.

No need to overdo an already-extravagant statement, so Mila kept her styling rather simple with a Gemfields ring by Marina B and emerald studs, along with a softly smokey eye and a slicked-back low bun.
