Refinery29 29Rooms Los Angeles: Turn It Into Art Opening Night

The Refinery29 ’29Rooms Los Angeles: Turn It Into Art’ opening night party saw a host of lovely ladies in attendance on Wednesday (December 6) in California.

Gabrielle Union: The ‘Being Mary Jane’ actress wore a TOME Fall 2017 bomber jacket and corseted shirt, plus some check trousers. I’m usually a big fan of Gabrielle’s style, but I couldn’t get on board with this look. I think the shirt is really the chink in her armor here.

Margot Robbie: With those power shoulders, it’s quite clear that Margot was paying homage to the 80s in this sleek Saint Laurent Spring 2018 look which she styled with Pierre Hardy ‘Laser’ pumps.

Janelle Monae: Did Janelle’s invite say come as art? That can be the only explanation for this Kaimin leather dress and Nange Magro // Dead Lotus Couture latex headpiece. You gotta admire her for committing to the look if nothing else.

Demi Lovato In Frolov – 102.7 KIIS FM’s Jingle Ball

Demi Lovato joined Sofia Carson for the 102.7 KIIS FM’s Jingle Ball 2017 on Friday (December 1) in Inglewood, California.

She clearly got the glitz memo, too, as there was no sequin spared in her Frolov Spring 2018 draped tunic dress.

That is, except in the nude trousers that were naked compared to their embellished counterpart.

With her exceptionally long extensions, she had a certain ’70s Cher vibe going. It was definitely a performance-ready outfit, so I’m glad she took to the stage later in the event.

Retro-forward or dated?

Demi Lovato In Ester Abner – 2017 American Music Awards

Demi Lovato joined Ciara, Selena Gomez and Hailee Steinfeld on the red carpet for the 2017 American Music Awards on Sunday (November 19) in LA.

The singer wore a sensual look for emerging Russian designer Ester Abner.

Ester’s label celebrates classic elegance, and that’s what Demi is serving up in spades.

Much like Lea Michele, I was surprised to see such a romantic look on this red carpet, but Demi carries off this look with perfect poise.

2017 MTV EMAs Red Carpet Roundup

While many will still be talking about Rita Ora’s double bathrobe moment at the 2017 MTV EMAs on Sunday (November 12) in London, there were plenty of other daring looks to likewise borrow some of the spotlight.

Leomie Anderson: I love how the model looked to vintage Vivienne Westwood inspiration in this Fall 1994 look. Her high ponytail and combat boots added another layer of sassy edge to the look that had plenty of modern edge.

Demi Lovato: Proving that plaid and a paper-bag waist can somehow maintain a sexy appeal, Demi worked the proportions of this Styland suit to her advantage. Giuseppe Zanotti plafforms were clearly necessary given the length of the pants, with Messika jewelry rounding out the look. If the super-long extensions get a pass, it’s only because of this being a MTV occasion.

Tallia Storm: Her Topshop ‘Cosmic Star’ embellished slip dress offered an accessible interpretation on red-carpet dressing. I can easily see the socks and platforms being a sticking point, however, they did bring funky appeal, with an Alexander McQueen clutch for a bit of overt British flavour to finish the look.

Demi Lovato In Emilio de la Morena – The Ellen DeGeneres Show

Demi Lovato paid a visit to ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ on Monday (October 30) to discuss her upcoming documentary and tour.

She did get into the Halloween spirit by donning a blue princess costume, but the singer wore an Emilio de la Morena Spring 2018 look for the interview.

The pastel tweed blazer and skirt has a subtle ‘Clueless’ reference, while the differing fabrics injected even more joy to the ensemble.

Demi continued the colourful contrast with royal blue heels.

3rd Annual InStyle Awards Red Carpet Roundup

The 3rd Annual InStyle Awards on Monday (October 23) in Los Angeles, California brought out numerous stylish ladies donning their most head-turning ensembles.

Angela Sarafyan: The ‘Westworld’ actress put a darker twist on a princess silhouette in a Georges Chakra Fall 2017 Couture gown. The black trim and the darker tulle layers lent an edginess to the full skirt. An Edie Parker ‘Jean’ clutch and Chloe Gosselin ‘Narcissus’ sandals played up the moody vibe.

Demi Lovato: Bringing a sultry elegance to a lavender Alice + Olivia Spring 2018 gown, the ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ singer toughened up the slip dress with a white studded belt and Leticia Linton ring. If I have to nitpick, I would have liked to see the dress a few inches shorter and a more formal belt.
