Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Men 25 Feb

Between premieres and the Elle Style Awards, there was a lot of man candy on the red carpet last night.

Will Smith: Looking as sharp as ever, the actor joined his wife Jada Pinkett Smith on the red carpet for the ‘Focus’ LA premiere wearing a striped three-piece suit working a divine combo of navy and lilac.

Lewis Hamilton: The Formula 1 racing driver wore a rich burgundy suit from Marni’s Spring 2015 collection, taking styling notes from Tinie Tempah and opting for cropped trousers that showed off his Cesare Casadei black moccasins. I’m not sure if this looks cool or comical. Cool from the calves up methinks.

Menswear Midweek Red Carpet Roundup

Menswear Midweek Red Carpet Roundup 14 jan

Here is a quick menswear roundup starting in Washington, crossing to London and heading back stateside to New York.

Bradley Cooper: While his co-star Sienna Miller was promoting their new movie ‘American Sniper’ in New York, Bradley was attending the premiere held at the Burke Theater at the US Navy Memorial in Washington DC on Tuesday (January 13). The actor was looking very sharp in a Thom Sweeney grey flannel suit styled with a thick navy tie and shiny patent-leather lace-ups.

David Gandy: The words David Gandy and dapper go hand in hand. He was looking mighty fine in London on Monday afternoon (January 12) ahead of the Burberry Prorsum London Collections: Men Fall 2015 show. Decked out in a mustard three-piece windowpane suit styled with blue shirt and striped tie, I was very much on the fence when it came to the hat, but the styling grew on me quite quickly because, let’s face it, he can pull just about anything off.

Chris Hemsworth: The actor made a guest appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, taped at the Rockefeller Center on Tuesday (January 13) in New York City, to promote his latest movie, ‘Blackhat’. Before being soaked with water by the host, the actor was looking as handsome as ever wearing a grey windowpane suit sans tie, which was beautifully tailored for a streamlined fit.

Menswear Midweek Red Carpet Roundup

Men 3 december

Here is a quick roundup of the men who have suited up in the name of fashion and movie premieres so far this week.

David Beckham: The former soccer star wore a Dior Homme wool and silk shawl-collar tuxedo. Black on black on black never looked so good. I love how he added a World AIDS Day red ribbon in support of the charity and his wife Victoria Beckham, who is a UNAIDS ambassador, while attending the British Fashion Awards.

Orlando Bloom: While the hair is a tad girlified for my liking, one can’t fault the British actor’s navy blue Lanvin silk shawl-collar tuxedo worn to the world premiere of ‘The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies’ on Monday alongside Evangeline Lilly.

Harry Styles: Always looking very sharp, Harry wore a red vertical-striped suit from Lanvin’s Fall 2014 collection. Probably committing something of a fashion faux pas wearing a French brand to the British Fashion Awards, who has time to nitpick when this mod look suits his style to a T?

David Gandy & Jamie Redknapp In Thom Sweeney – Thom Sweeney Store Opening

David Gandy & Jamie Redknapp In Thom Sweeney

Thom Sweeney has been the go-to designer for British celebs both home and abroad, plus the likes of the well-dressed James Marsden have also been spotted donning the designer’s well-tailored suits.

Last night (November 13) a few of Thom’s fans joined him for the opening of his new Ready to Wear & Made to Measure Store in located at 33A Bruton Place, London, England.

David Gandy: Always topping best-dressed lists, he is likely to achieve that feat once again wearing a Thom Sweeney light-grey double-breasted suit, light-blue cotton shirt and speckled charcoal wool tie. Yes, I did swoon, firstly at the overall sheer magnitude of how impeccable he looks, and secondly because I got lost in those blue eyes.

Jamie Redknapp: Always well-dressed and often in Thom Sweeney, I was not surprised to see the former soccer star in attendance with his Isabel Marant-clad wife, Louise Redknapp. While she opted for a more laidback look which including an Isabel Marant embellished wool jacket which is to die for, he looked as sharp as ever wearing a Thom Sweeney dark-grey single-breasted suit styled with a light-blue cotton button-down shirt and a dark-green tie.

Dilemmas, dilemmas, who wore it best? I’m gonna flip a coin for this one.

Best Dressed Of The Week – Emmy Rossum In Oscar de la Renta, Abigail Spencer In Paule Ka & David Gandy In Marks & Spencer

Best Dressed Of The Week - Emmy Rossum In Oscar de la Renta, Abigail Spencer In Paule Ka & David Gandy In Marks & Spencer

Emmy Rossum was your best dressed this week wearing a gorgeous strapless tiered Oscar de la Renta gown to the LA Opera.

My vote went to Abigail Spencer in her black and white Paule Ka gown worn to the ‘This Is Where I Leave You’ LA premiere; as I said at the time, I don’t think she’s ever looked better – she totally blew me away.

Even with very stiff competition from Ryan Reynolds and Dan Stevens, Dandy Gandy, not surprisingly, was the runaway winner. Some may think he only gets votes because he is so damn good looking, but look again – the man knows how to wear a suit. On this occasion his Marks & Spencer suit was tailored and styled to perfection.
