The Glamour of Italian Fashion Exhibition Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a quick roundup of a few others who joined Naomi Campbell and Rita Ora on the red carpet for the preview of The Glamour of Italian Fashion exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum on Tuesday (April 1) in London, England.

Elizabeth Hurley: On a night celebrating Italian glamour, it could’ve gone two ways for Hurley: Versace or Cavalli. The British actress opted for the latter, selecting a black Cavalli halter gown which is lightly beaded and made sexy with a selection of cut-outs.

David Gandy: No prizes for guessing that the model was dressed in Dolce & Gabbana. His classic double-breasted suit is Dolce & Gabbana tailoring at its very best.

Erin O’Connor: Opting not to go the Italian designer route, the model looked divine dressing her baby bump with a Vivienne Westwood Gold Label Fall 2014 lavender draped dress. It’s so lovely to see her in a colour other than her favoured black. A pretty statement necklace, Smythson ‘Floating Envelope’ python box clutch, gold t-bar sandals and a gold cuff.

Best Dressed Of The Week - Lupita Nyong'o In Christian Dior Couture & Carina Lau In Ralph & Russo

Lupita Nyong’o was your best dressed this week for the Christian Dior Couture gown she wore to the BAFTAs.
As much as I loved the gown and the colour against her skin, there was – much like her SAG Awards Ralph Lauren cape gown – a feeling of déjà vu.

Even without the déjà vu, I would’ve still crowned Carina Lau my favourite in her Ralph & Russo Couture pink cocktail dress, which was far more enticing and original in design. My runner up was Suki, also in Ralph & Russo.

Elle Style Awards Men

Here is a quick look at some of the fellas on the red carpet from this evening’s (February 18) Elle Style Awards 2014 held at London’s One Embankment.

Pharrell Williams: Not picking up the Best Dressed Man of the Year (although he should have) the musician was happy with his International Recording Artist of the Year award. No surprise that he’s wearing his go-to designer Alber Elbaz; wearing a head-to-toe Lanvin Pre-Fall 2014 look consisting of a black leopard effect tuxedo blazer with satin peak lapels, and black-and-green two-tone cropped trousers. His white cotton tuxedo shirt with accented pearl buttons and styled with a signature black bow-tie, with black leather derbies rounding out his look. Thank god he left his Vivienne Westwood Mountain hat at home.

Tinie Tempah: The British rapper continues his epic run this week, attending his third fashion-related event in as many days. On this occasion to collect his UK Recording Artist Of The Year award you could see him from a mile away wearing a manly magenta Dolce & Gabbana double breasted suit, styled with a black bow-tie and loafers, obviously. It’s a bold look. Not many dudes would even attempt to pull it off, but I gotta say he makes it work, even though I am not a fan of shiny suits.

Best Dressed Of The Week - Lea Seydoux In Prada & Miu Miu, Paloma Faith In Burberry Prorsum

Our first Best Dressed of the Week of 2014 was quite a close-fought race.

Only one percent separated the ladies, with Lea Seydoux in her colourful printed Miu Miu dress and Prada coat your eventual winner.

I’m sure no one is surprised my heart went to Paloma Faith in her goosebump-inducing Burberry Prorsum Spring 2014 ensemble; as always, my girl never lets me down. The look was soft and sensual with plenty of drama.

Both making us consider pastel-hued coats this winter.

Best Dressed Of The Week - Ian Somerhalder in Z Zegna & David Gandy

Two dapper dans took the prize for best dressed in the menswear department.

Ian Somerhalder in Z Zegna was your winner; something about his cheeky charm and the relaxed nature of his look no doubt won you over.

I selected David Gandy because, well, he is David Gandy, and that is now synonymous with great style and suave three-piece suits with impeccable tailoring.

David Gandy The London Collections Men AutumnWinter 2014

David Gandy was also taking a front row seat alongside Tinie Tempah this week during Men’s Collection Fashion Week.

Topshop Design Show: A checked double-breasted suit with a white tee is always likely to make me swoon.

Richard James Fall 2014 Show: Looking like a Wall Street banker, the model looked very suave donning a striped blue suit styled with a striped shirt and brown tie. I perhaps would’ve hated the tie, but the cream wool coat brings it all together nicely.

Burberry Prorsum: In perhaps my favourite look of the bunch, the dark-blue three-piece suit was masterfully styled with a dotted tie and matching pocket square, with his brown-framed shades complementing his shoes.

Which one makes you go weak at the knees?
