Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Menswear Friday

David Beckham: The former footballer started his day front row at Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2014 menswear show as the fashion circus moved from Milan to Paris. David was, of course, decked out in LV, looking looking devilishly handsome in a dressy-casual look consisting of a navy-blue blazer, green tee, dark-wash jeans and lace-up brown boots.

Johnny Depp: Still stuck on pinstripes, the actor attended the Moscow photocall for his latest movie ‘The Lone Ranger’ in Russia yesterday afternoon. He wore another pair of brown pinstripe pants with a Greg Lauren brown suede vest, with a white shirt by the same designer. Familiar styling, including shades, eclectic necklaces, a blue bandana and battered shoes, completed his look.

Matthew Morrison: The ‘Glee’ actor joined a host of lovely ladies at the Serpentine Gallery Summer Party on Wednesday evening, wearing a grey check suit to which he added a quirky touch via his green bow tie.

Menswear Round Up 1

Let’s hear it for the boys, who have been criss-crossing countries this week to hit up the red-carpet scenes in style.

Darren Criss: In head-to-toe Emporio Armani, the ‘Glee’ cutie joined Kristen Wiig at the  ‘Imogene’ Paris premiere, as part of the 2013 Champs Élysées Film Festival at Publicis Champs Élysées in France on Tuesday. Even with his scruff and unruly curls, he still managed to look polished in this pewter-gray suit, worn with a micro-stripe shirt and micro-dot tie.

Simon Baker: The Aussie actor took to the field at the ‘Prix de Diane Longines’ 2013 at Hippodrome de Chantilly on Sunday in Chantilly, France, adding modern appeal to his standard dark suit and tie with heavy-rimmed sunglasses and camel lace-up oxford shoes.

Jesse Metcalfe: The hunky star had a model moment in his Reiss suit, as he made the rounds at a party hosted by ‘Men’s Health’ x Liberty x Oliver Spencer during the London Collections: MEN SS14 at Liberty on Monday in London. The bold blue colour juxtaposed with the stark white, tieless shirt and contrasting printed pocket square are what make this look stand out.

BDOTW 24 March

We both picked British stars with a connection to Victoria Beckham for best dressed this week.

Emilia Clarke looked stunning in a Victoria Beckham gown for the ‘Games of Throne’ LA premiere, while Victoria’s hubby, David Beckham looked devilishly handsome in a sharp tailored suit for his ambassadorial duties in China.

Harrison Ford: In celebration of being the cover star of the latest issue of Michigan Avenue Magazine, Harrison was in attendance for a party at Chicago Cut Steakhouse on Monday. Looking as good as ever, he donned a well-tailored navy suit with wide notch lapels. His outfit included a pale-blue shirt and a printed navy tie.

James McAvoy: For the London premiere of the film ‘Trance’, James was in attendance on the carpet sporting a thickening red beard. Besides the facial hair, James wore a Prada navy silk suit. The notch-lapel suit seemed to fit him well. He matched it with a sky-blue poplin-stretch shirt.

David Beckham: The British football superstar attended a press conference held at the Shijia Hutong Primary School in Beijing, China today, where he was unveiled at the special ambassador for Chinese football. Always looking dapper when it comes to formal wear, David wore a charcoal-grey notch-lapel suit. He paired it with a white pinstripe shirt, a light-grey tie, and a pair of black lace-ups. The superstar looked even more handsome while having a kick-about with the kids, only removing his jacket while he showcased his skills on the playground.

H&M invited me to view their new ad to launch the David Beckham Bodywear collection, which was directed by Guy Ritchie at the Soho Hotel in London yesterday.

It was quite a fancy affair, with champagne, canapés and popcorn.

After the first viewing of the ad, the PR asked us if we wanted to watch the ad again; we all said yes for, erm, research purposes of course.

The ad shows David waving goodbye to his three sons (actors) in his dressing gown, which becomes caught in the door of the Range Rover.

He chases the Range Rover, jumping over hedges, which leaves him shirt-less, running through gardens, tennis courts and swimming through a pool which leaves him soaking wet.

Just when you think he is going to catch up with the car, it speeds off again and the ad ends with a coach full of tourists snapping the topless Becks before he continues to chase the car in his slippers.

The ad will air for the first time tonight in the UK on Channel 4 at 9.50pm.
