Red Carpet Fashion Awards

GQ Men Of The Year PartyIt’s no surprise that Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong’o weren’t the only ones cutting handsome—and pretty—profiles at the GQ 2013 ‘Men of the Year’ party, hosted last night in Los Angeles, California. There was plenty more eye candy to spare.

James Van Der Beek: The actor brought out his own baby blues in a Todd Snyder ensemble, ratcheting up his grey plaid suit with a blue shirt, lighter tie and mixed-print pocket square. The grand finale of the look, though, were those blue shoelaces on his brown loafers.

Darby Stanchfield: Decked out in a burgundy-red Emilio De La Morena Fall 2012 gown, the ‘Scandal’ star mixed sophistication and edginess with this streamlined, lacquered-bodice dress, which actually set off her slicked-back, flame-toned locks. You may remember Julianne Hough previously wore this gown.

Chace Crawford: The actor opted for a light dove-grey, wool two-button small notch lapel suit by Dior Homme, which he wore with a white cotton, button-down shirt, black silk tie and black leather derbies. Something about the suit wasn’t as sizzling as his stare.

Best Dressed Of The Week - Holland Roden In Naeem Khan, Adam Lambert In Lanvin & Darren Criss In Versace

Even though we are a few days into Venice Film Festival, it was ‘Teen Wolf’ star Holland Roden who was your best dressed this week.

When I saw the actress wearing this unique Naeem Khan embellished pant-ballgown hybrid look with her signature bold lip, I had a Meg Ryan ‘When Harry Met Sally’ moment, while some of you felt the piece was too grand for the VMAs, preferring to have seen this look on the red carpet at the upcoming Emmy Awards.

Setting herself apart from the rest is the very reason she won this week.

When it came to the fellas our choices differed.

You guys voted for Adam Lambert in his shiny grey Lanvin suit with perfectly coiffed hair and just the right amount of makeup to add some drama to his look.

I just loved the sleekness of Darren Criss’ Versace suit with glitter-toe-cap Christian Louboutin flats. At times the ‘Glee’ star can look like he’s wearing a school uniform on the red carpet, but on this occasion he really stood out.

VMAs Men1

Leave it to last night’s 2013 MTV Video Music Awards to bring out the unexpected, with an eclectic mix of sartorial sass, surprisingly understated appeal and sheer shock factor. But, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, the men’s looks were nearly as colourful as the daring drama queens themselves.

Darren Criss: Clad in an aubergine Versace one-button peak lapel suit, the ‘Glee’ cutie completed his look with a black-and-white Versace pocket square, a black button-down shirt and contrasting dark-blue tie, not to mention Christian Louboutin ‘Bruno Orlato Glitter’ flat loafers. Any guy who boldly goes for glitter and eggplant gets my vote.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt: Adding a touch of the unexpected to his light heather-grey Prada suit, the actor wore a cerulean-blue shirt. A thin black tie and black brogues finished out the look.

Miles Teller: ‘The Spectacular’ Now star made a more casual entrance with his Second Sunday grey shirt and Andrew Marc black jeans, amped up with an oxblood Giorgio Armani jacket.

Teen Choice Awards Men 1

Just like the girls who took to the red carpet at the 2013 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday, the lads gave us a variety of looks.

Miguel, Ian Somerhalder and Nelly all went for the statement-tee-and-leather-trousers combo, with Nelly opting for more colour with quilted shorts and oversized sneakers with fluoro-pink-and-blue laces.

Mensweaer round up

A few good men have given us a taste of their summer style—with a side of various stages of scruff—so far this week. Here, the handsome, half-shaven group.

Hugh Jackman: Still working his ‘Wolverine’ beard, as he’s filming ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ the actor took a polished approach for a shopping trip today along Bond Street in London with his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness. Wearing a fitted white shirt, which was appropriately snugged over his athletic build, and dark-blue, belted trousers, topped off with aviator shades, his clean-cut look was a lesson in suave street style.

Darren Criss: Donning a refined Brooks Brothers grey plaid suit, matching tie and crisp white button-down, the actor kept up appearances last night for the New York City premiere of his new film, ‘Girl Most Likely,’ as he remembered former ‘Glee co-star Cory Monteith with a black ribbon on his lapel.

Gary Barlow: Arriving yesterday afternoon for the London auditions of ‘The X Factor’ at Wembley Arena, the judge took a casual approach with his double-breasted, baby-blue checquered blazer worn over a white T-shirt and matching pants. Beige boat shoes, worn sans socks, added some breezy, off-duty-inspiration to this look.
