Coco Rocha In Anthony Capon and Aurelio Costarella – Oaks Day

Coco Rocha In Anthony Capon and Aurelio Costarella - Oaks Day

Coco Rocha is still making the fashion-statement rounds in Melbourne, Australia, and her appearance at Oaks Day at Flemington Racecourse today proved even more dramatic than her first track-side look from earlier in the week.

Styled in not one, but two dresses, the model wore a gold rose-adorned Anthony Capon creation over a white Aurelio Costarella cocktail dress. Due to the gold dress’s high-neck collar, architectural shoulders, and exaggerated tutu-like skirt, there was no problem differentiating the layers; in fact, it merely gave Coco’s ensemble added dimension.

Not to be upstaged, her matching rose-adorned Anthony Capon hat continued the theme of standout details, with simple white pumps and wine-coloured lips completing the ensemble.

Coco Rocha In Peter Pilotto – Melbourne Cup Day

Coco Rocha In Peter Pilotto - Melbourne Cup Day

Coco Rocha attended the 2013 Melbourne Cup in Australia on Tuesday.

The model chose one of Peter Pilotto’s Fall 2013 dresses — a red, black, and white-printed number complete with exaggerated cape-inspired shoulders, a high neck, and a split-front skirt.

Let’s be honest, though. The dress may be a focal point, but this is really an outfit driven by hat choice, and Coco didn’t disappoint in hers. She wore a netted black Nerida Winter bow headpiece that complemented the structure and print of her Peter Pilotto dress despite its quirky Mickey Mouse-esque shape.

Do you think her styling worked for Melbourne Cup Day?

19th Annual Art Walk NY

19th Annual Art Walk NY

It was very much a Dolce fest at the 19th Annual Art Walk NY held at 82 Mercer in New York City on Tuesday evening.

Coco Rocha: The model kept it simple yet striking in black wearing a Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2013 black jacquard dress with a lace yoke and sleeve. It’s a shame the shoes are so bland, but she makes up for it with that bright orange lip.

Elettra Wiedemann: Opting for a significantly more captivating Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2013 frock inspired by the Byzantine mosaics of Sicily’s Monreale Cathedral which sparkle with crystal, sequin and bead detailing, this heavyweight probably didn’t need much accessorising so she added a Rauwolf red clutch and Dolce & Gabbana crucifix earrings.

Hilary Rhoda: By far my favourite from this bunch, I have been obsessed by this ruby crystal-embellished dress for a long while, not only by the colour and bedazzlement, but also the excellent craftsmanship. Simple styling was most definitely the right road to take this exquisite piece down.

Ralph Lauren’s Screening Of Hitchcock’s ‘To Catch A Thief’ Celebrating The Princess Grace Foundation

Ralph Lauren's Screening Of Hitchcock's 'To Catch A Thief' Celebrating The Princess Grace Foundation

Last night, Ralph Lauren hosted a special screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s ‘To Catch A Thief’ at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. The event, which was held to celebrate The Princess Grace Foundation, drew a crowd peppered with actresses, models, and one royal daughter-in-law.

Princess Charlene of Monaco: There to represent the Monegasque royal family, Princess Charlene of Monaco stunned in a strapless white jumpsuit by Ralph Lauren. While the structured bodice, skinny waist belt, and wide-leg silhouette gave off a distinct ’70s vibe, her minimalist take elsewhere (accessories, makeup, and slicked-back hair) kept the whole look decidedly polished.

Toni Collette: The Australian actress covered up in a black Ralph Lauren turtleneck dress, which also featured long sleeves and a below-the-knee hemline. Perhaps, to offset the conservative dress choice, she wore black cutout booties and styled it all with a gold, textured Louis Vuitton ‘Limelight’ clutch and mussed-up waves.

Coco Rocha: The model — who also donned Ralph Lauren for the evening’s festivities — went with an outfit straight from the designer’s Fall 2013 runway. The look included a white Victorian ruffle-front and puffed-sleeve blouse, high-waisted black sailor pants, and black pumps.

Metropolitan Opera Season Opening Production Of ‘Eugene Onegin’ Red Carpet Roundup

Metropolitan Opera Season Opening Production Of ‘Eugene Onegin’ Red Carpet Roundup

While the 2013 Emmy Award trophies were trending in Los Angeles, California, a host of stars came out to walk another red carpet across the States in New York City for The Metropolitan Opera’s season opening production of ‘Eugene Onegin’ on Sunday.

Coco Rocha: The model was appropriately striking and statuesque, as she strutted out a Greta Constantine midnight-blue gown. The architectural silhouette, intricate folded detailing, mock peplum waist and shoulder cutouts all had me at hello. An exaggerated, winged cat eye and bright coral pout brought even more drama.

Mischa Barton: Putting a sophisticated foot forward, the actress wore a Valentina Kova robe dress, punched through with a bold, cerulean blue waistband. A thigh-high slit showed off her black Walter Steiger pumps, which couldn’t help but be outdone by that over-the-top feather clutch. She opted for the no-makeup look, but a bold lip may have been beneficial here.

Patricia Clarkson: The flame-haired actress sparkled in a Philosophy Fall 2013 black gown, accented with an appropriate plunge neckline and a shower of glittering embellishment at the waist.

Longchamp Flagship Store Opening

Longchamp Flagship Store Opening 14 Sept

Longchamp celebrated the opening of its London flagship store on Regent Street on Saturday evening, inviting a host of celebrity guests.

I was lucky enough to be invited and mingled with a host of celebrity guests across the three floors while being thoroughly entertained by Alexa Chung and Pixie Geldof, who were spinning the decks (see my pictures below).

Zoe Saldana: The beautiful actress, who is currently in London filming her next blockbuster ‘Guardian of the Galaxy’, looked effortless wearing a draped-front ivory silk blouse and shorts from Longchamp’s Spring 2014 collection, which she styled with a ‘Roseau Box’ clutch and taupe Louboutins. She was such a delight, happily posing for a picture for us.

Kate Moss: The model, who has a very strong connection with Longchamp having designed bags for the brand, was the one person who everyone wanted to see close up. She didn’t disappoint, wearing a sexy black keyhole romper with a unique whiplash leather belt, which she accessorized with a blue Kate Moss for Longchamp clutch for a pop of colour.

Alexa Chung: The DJ was in great spirits on the night, opting for a black vinyl Jonathan Saunders ‘Jemima’ bustier dress from the Fall 2013 collection to showcase her darker and sexier side, which she styled with a cute pair of houndstooth ankle-strap pumps. The ivory cardi was just for the red carpet.

Coco Rocha In Fausto Puglisi – 2013 MTV Video Music Awards #VMAs

Coco Rocha In Fausto Puglisi - 2013 MTV Video Music Awards #VMAs

Mega model Coco Rocha worked the runway, ahem red carpet, at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The catwalker could have been a rock star, as she struck a pose in a Fausto Puglisi black leather embossed jacket that was embellished with all sorts of bells and whistles—from studs and shine to zippers galore.

With such an intense piece, she kept the rest of her look minimal with skinny black pants, black pointy pumps and nary an accessory in sight save for a few rings.

Aside from the jacket, the other star of this style show was Coco’s new auburn pixie-punk ’do, which she coaxed into a pompadour style, ratcheting up the rocker vibe even more. A brush of grey smoky shadow completed her steely, sultry stare.

Rock on.

Hair Trend Alert: The Pixie Cut

Pixie Cut Trend

When Beyonce chopped off her hair last week, it was one of the most shocking celebrity haircuts in quite a while. In all honesty, the cut was likely a combination of removing extensions and cutting some hair, but the results were surprisingly (Sasha) Fierce, and I’m excited to see Queen Bey rock her shorter ‘do–especially since many people associate her entire persona with her gorgeous long hair.

And right on Mrs. Carter’s heels was another dramatic hair change: Model Coca Rocha cut her mid-length tresses into a edgy cut–super short around the sides with a bit more length on the top. Keeping the extra length on the top will allow for lots of variety at photoshoots (as Coco has already revealed via Instagram), and the shorter length shows off the model’s striking bone structure far more than her previous look.

By cutting off their locks, these two ladies have joined the ranks of stars who have dared to go super short.

Robin Wright has been rocking a pixie for about a year now, and she showed off her low maintenance crop once again this week on the red carpet.

And Ginnifer Goodwin, who has one of the most famous (and long-lasting) pixie cuts in Hollywood loves her short cut so much that she actually writes it into her filming contracts–she gets to keep the hair short and wear wigs for roles!

To keep your own pixie looking chic day after day, use Short Sexy Hair Quick Change Shaping Balm to create a style that is easily reactivated the next day, and to shape your hair and hold it in place, Oscar Blandi’s Pronto Dry Sculpting Pomade is a great option. If it’s moisture and shine you want, try Carol’s Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey.

So what do you think? Are all these ladies rocking the short hair, or do you prefer them with longer locks?
