Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Designer Obsession Award
For the second night in a row Claire Danes wore Burberry.

She wore her black lace dress with Burberry Prorsum Fall 2009 heels when she presented Christopher Bailey with the “International Designer of the Year” Award at the 2010 Elle Style Awards last night.

I picked lighter pictures so you could see the details on the dress, which actually looked better in real life.

I did like the dress, it was very Claire – nice and neat – but like Claudia I was wishing for a colour pop.

British brand Burberry was the designer of the night dressing 3 stars.

Claire Danes walked very fast down the red carpet, so I had to shout “who are you wearing?” To which she replied “Burberry”.

Her silk Burberry gown was custom-made for her by Christopher Bailey.

I loved the detail on the bodice, but I wasn’t so crazy about the detail wrapped around her hips.

Her look was paired with Burberry heels and Tiffany jewels.

“Atonement” actress Saoirse Ronan – who’s name we had trouble pronouncing – also wore a custom-made Burberry dress, with Burberry jewels and shoes.

The 15 year old actress looked age appropriate.

I just loved those ruffles as they added a touch of charm to her look.

Uma Thurman who didn’t walk the red carpet presented an early award wearing a custom-made light gold lace Burberry gown.

I hope I find some pictures of her to show you, because she look stunning on screen.

Best Dressed Award
Diane Kruger has been experimenting with shorter hemlines and edgier pieces, but last night she opted for ethereal elegance as she glided down the red carpet wearing an asymmetrical Donna Karan Spring 2010 gown.

Look as the way she’s working the hell out of this gown.

That backward S shape she’s making with her body is fully showing off the magnificent of this gown.

I knew she was only warming up at previous events.

Best Mini Award
Zoe Saldana has been on fire since the start of her “Star Trek” promo tour back in April last year, and that flame is still burning ever so brightly.

I was in a three-way split as to who to give the Best Dressed to – Diane, Zoe or Marion.

Diane got the vote, but Zoe was a very close second.

The “Avatar” actress wore a delightful Jason Wu Spring 2010 ivory mini draped foil dress with puffy sleeves, a bubble hem skirt and a black sash tied to the waist.

Her look was paired with Christian Louboutin white peep-toes with a black and yellow trim and animal print velvet bow which are oh so very cute.

Ding Ding Ding Jackpot Award
Dior + Marion Cotillard = Red Carpet Perfection.

This is the moment I have been waiting for since it was the ladies of the movie “Nine” started their promotional tour.

The stunning French actress wowed in a Christian Dior Spring 2010 two tone bustier gown, with gold embellishments fanning out over the skirt.

I love the pink clutch, but not so crazy about those necklaces.

Keeping It Simple Award
Abbie Cornish wore an Elie Saab Spring 2010 black sheath dress with structured shoulders paired with Bally criss cross heels.

I would’ve loved to have seen Abbie inject a bit of colour into this look via the clutch or shoes, but all in all I don’t hate this look

I’m however slightly disappointed that the subtle details of the dress are totally lost on the red carpet.

Bling Award
Emily Blunt loves to shine on the red carpet.  We often we see her in heavily embellished looks.

On this occasion she wore a Georges Chakra Fall 2009 Couture sequined dress, with fish-scale embroidery detail around the hem of the skirt.

I think this dress would’ve worked better for Emily had it been strapless, as I’m not so crazy about sheer yokes.

I’m crazy about her Diego Dolcini strappy heels though.

Most Disappointing Award
As much as we love Julianne Moore,  I just couldn’t fall in love with this red Lanvin Spring 2010 dress on her.

On the runway the dress is très magnifique, but the details fall flat off the runway therefore making lose interest in the dress.

Slowing Becoming A Red Carpet Favourite Award
Anna Kendrick walked the red carpet wearing an Elie Saab black knit gown.

Again you can barely make out the lace details on the skirt of the gown.

My only problem with this gown is the double straps, because it looks like she’s wearing a strappy vest top under her gown.

On The Fence Award
Carey Mulligan’s certainly makes this Marni black taffeta waterfall draped black gown work for her and her unique style.

The Marni accessories are the only thing stopping me from disliking this look.

It appears she loves the same designers as Anna Wintour  – Prada, Thakoon and Marni.

Ravishing In Red Award
No matter what Heather Graham wears always she injects a LOT of sexy appeal into her look.

Her asymmetrical red dress may look a lot plain, but the gold clutch and sultry pose make the overall look more appealing.

Best Shoes Award
I love the black fringe corseted Alberta Ferretti dress Sandra Bullock wore this event, but I think it fails to flatter her.

Her black satin Casadei platform heels are to-die-for.

Precious Award
Gabourey Sidibe walked the red carpet wearing a black satin cocktail Tadashi Shoji dress with a nude and black embroidered cap-sleeve bodice.

She completed the look with black sandals and a black satin shawl.

Still Got IT Award
I have goosebumps on my goosebumps marveling at how A-Friggin-Mazing Susan Sarandon looked wearing a sexy Dolce & Gabbana LBD.

It’s a style we’ve seen numerous of times on the red carpet, but that takes nothing away from how stunning Susan looks.

After her break up with Tim Robbins something tells me this was a statement making dress.

Yet Another LBD Award
After Ashley Greene gave us our first red carpet look at the J.Mendel Pre-Fall 2010 collection this week, Claire Danes gave us a second look.

She presented alongside Zachary Quinto wearing a J.Mendel Pre-Fall 2010 black dress with a draped shoulder detail.

I like that she broke up the black by adding a bronze pair of peep-toe heels.

Do not adjust your screens, this really is a Herve Leger dress.

I know many of you have sworn off Herve Leger due to every D to Z list celebrity wearing them on the red carpet, but Claire Danes proves that there’s more to the brand than neon bandage dresses.

The actress walked the red carpet with Disney pip squeak Zac Efron at the New York screening of “Me And Orson Welles” last night.

She looked amazing in her glittering silver mini dress, which she paired with pink Sergio Rossi heels.

Those of you who tag her as boring, will be eating your words.

This is definitely a BDOTW contender for me.

Lydia Hearst opted for a D&G Fall 2009 strapless ivory dress.

Even with the exaggerated hips, this dress fails to flatter Lydia.

I wish she had picked one of the rich plum or blue pieces from this collection, as this colour washes her out.

Jimmy Choo Nova gold snake-effect leather peep-toe pumps complete her look.

Once you get past the Kanye West association and the occasional OTT outfit, you can see that Amber Rose is actually a very pretty woman.

The model arrived on the wearing an ivory Dolce & Gabbana strapless bustier dress, which is a regular on the red carpet.

She also paired her look with gold Jimmy Choo heels.

33rd Annual Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF), Egypt

It’s been a while since we last saw Salma Hayek looking this fantastic.

The actress looked stunning at this event were she received an honorary award wearing a printed Balenciaga Fall 2009 gown.

I had hoped to see more from this collection on the red carpet, but Salma delights in her stunning gown version, which I prefer to the runway.

Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences’ Inaugural Governors Awards, LA

Ever since Cannes Film Festival Abbie Cornish just gets better and better for me on the red carpet.

I adore her in this Christian Dior lilac belted gown.

Her hair and make-up are gorgeous, her Neil Lane jewels are subtly beautiful and that clutch is divine.

Holt Renfrew Celebrates New Calgary Store, Canada

After two gowns Kristen Bell gives us a fresh sparkling Jenni Kayne Spring 2010 mini to get us in the to party mood for this weekend.

As always the blonde actress is flawless.

“The Blind Side” New Orleans Benefit Premiere

Sandra Bullock looked stunning wearing a purple striped Alberta Ferretti Spring 2010 gown.

I just wish she had smiled to help me love this look even more.

Fabolous’ Birthday Party, New York

Amber Rose usually over does it by wearing loud colours, or tacky tight ensembles but I’m totally in love with this Martin Grant Fall 2009 sculptured bustier.

Black velvet pants, YSL suede black heels and sunglasses complete her look.

2010 Pirelli Calendar Cocktail Reception, London

Daisy Lowe opted for a Jasmine di Milo Fall 2008 jumpsuit which is split to the thigh.

I love this look as it’s seductive without being too revealing.

The tights even work in her favour, as she looks like she’s wearing a full bodysuit.

NAC’s Medal of Honor for Film Award Presentation, New York

I’m not feeling this Alexander McQueen Resort 2010 look on Christina Ricci at all, and it has nothing to do with the tights.

The asymmetrical one-sleeved mini has a mish mash of colours I really don’t like, plus I don’t think the dress is particularly flattering on her.

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Birthday Celebration, New York

I’ve loved this Alexander Wang corseted one-shoulder dress ever since I laid eyes on it.

Kim Kardashian does look good in this dress.

I love way the dress gracefully drapes her shoulder, but she’s a little bit too busty for the dress.

2009 MTVU Woodie Awards, New York

I’m also surprised we haven’t seem much of the Balenciaga Resort 2010 collection on the red carpet.

Jessica Stam opted to wear this orange belted mini with tight and a small patterned bag.

“The Princess And The Frog”, LA Premiere

It’s been forever since we last saw Anika Noni Rose on the red carpet, then she reappears at this premiere wearing the Thread Social asymmetrical dress I had added to my ‘favourites’ a few weeks ago.

I love the back of the dress with the unexpected double strappy detail.

Such a cute look to match that gorgeous smile.

“Me And Orson Welles” UK Premiere

Claire Danes’ Stella McCartney gown is very classic and simple with ruffle details.

Large silver earrings provides the sparkle.
