Red Carpet Fashion Awards

For the closing ceremony of the Shanghai Film Festival Michelle Yeoh wore a stunning orange one shoulder Atelier Versace Fall 2007 gown.

This was my favourite of her two looks during this festival.

I love the colour, the detail and the gold accessories. Definitely BDOTW worthy.

French actress Isabelle Huppert looked effortless wearing a white plunging striped gown which she paired with an ivory clutch.

Claire Danes also opted for a bright colour wearing a red halter gown with a mermaid hem.

Usually Claire opted for neutral colours so this pop of colour is most welcome.

Chopard celebrated 150 years of excellence at The Frick Collection in New York City last night.

Claire Danes walked the red carpet wearing a Lanvin one-shoulder draped dress from the Spring 2010 collection.

Her dress is simply fabulous on the runway, but as we’ve witness so many times – with the exclusion of Jennifer Lopez – this Spring collection doesn’t particularly translate well off the runway.

The colour of me is not the issue, as the white doesn’t wash out Claire.

My issue is the way it kind hangs off Claire looking really lifeless.

Her dress is paired with co-ordinating ankle strap heels.

Her baby blue Chopard bracelet was added for a pop of colour, but seems like such a strange colour choice as it doesn’t complement her overall look.

Claire Danes arrived looking very colourful on the red carpet at the “2010 AMNH Museum Dance” in New York City.

Prior to this event she attended the “Zac Posen for Target Launch”, which is where her tropical print gown is from.

This is the gown that everyone wants from this collection which goes on sale April 25.

It dramatic, colourful and only $69.99.

I was surprised that Claire would pick such a colourful piece, as she tend to stick to safe colours.

I can’t say I love her in this dress, but it’s great to see her in something unexpected.

The black belt stops it from looking too ‘beachy holiday’.

We’re used to seeing stars don the same dresses within weeks or months months of each other, but rarely do we see stars wearing looks six years apart.

That was the case with Claire Danes and Jamie Winstone who both wore this Alexander McQueen Fall 2004 gown.

Claire Danes wore the nude gown with the contrasting criss-cross stripes to the Costume Institute Gala back in April 2004.

The blonde actress teamed her gown with a softly curled updo, delicate drop earrings, fresh-faced make-up and a simple gold clutch.

Jamie wore the dress to the 2010 BAFTAs.

She sported a Marilyn Monroe ‘do and a ruby red pout.

I love that Jamie had fun with this look.

Her ‘do and red lips gave her look character and personality so she wins for me.

Designer Obsession Award
For the second night in a row Claire Danes wore Burberry.

She wore her black lace dress with Burberry Prorsum Fall 2009 heels when she presented Christopher Bailey with the “International Designer of the Year” Award at the 2010 Elle Style Awards last night.

I picked lighter pictures so you could see the details on the dress, which actually looked better in real life.

I did like the dress, it was very Claire – nice and neat – but like Claudia I was wishing for a colour pop.

British brand Burberry was the designer of the night dressing 3 stars.

Claire Danes walked very fast down the red carpet, so I had to shout “who are you wearing?” To which she replied “Burberry”.

Her silk Burberry gown was custom-made for her by Christopher Bailey.

I loved the detail on the bodice, but I wasn’t so crazy about the detail wrapped around her hips.

Her look was paired with Burberry heels and Tiffany jewels.

“Atonement” actress Saoirse Ronan – who’s name we had trouble pronouncing – also wore a custom-made Burberry dress, with Burberry jewels and shoes.

The 15 year old actress looked age appropriate.

I just loved those ruffles as they added a touch of charm to her look.

Uma Thurman who didn’t walk the red carpet presented an early award wearing a custom-made light gold lace Burberry gown.

I hope I find some pictures of her to show you, because she look stunning on screen.
