2011 Directors Guild Awards

Natalie Portman, Jennifer Lawrence, Claire Danes and Amy Adams attended the 63rd Annual Directors Guild Of America Awards last night, which was held at the Grand Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland.

Natalie opted for another bump skimming look wearing a black Michael Kors jersey goddess gown with gold neck piece.

Her simple dress was teamed with Aldo shoes, Cartier yellow gold and diamond jewelry plus a black Roger Vivier clutch.

The only person I’m really excited about from this whole group is Jennifer Lawrence.

Jennifer looked stunning wearing a Prabal Gurung Spring 2011 white asymmetrical dress which is longer than the blue runway version.

The “Winter’s Bone” Oscar nominated actress teamed her dress with black Miu Miu heels, a black Roger Vivier clutch and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Like Natalie, Claire Danes opted for a head-to-toe black look.

She wore a Roland Mouret ‘Macha’ black double faced viscose v-neck dress from the Spring 2011 collection.

Amy Adams finally wears a colour which isn’t black or navy.

“The Fighter” actress wore a lovely cream coloured strapless Fendi dress which she teamed with a matching clutch and saffron peep-toes.

Let’s pray that SAG Awards is more exciting.

Our second burst of colour at the 2011 Golden Globe Awards came via Claire Danes.

She opted for a simple bubblegum pink custom-made Calvin Klein Collection halter gown.

Claire always gives us minimal glamour in such a classy sophisticated way.

Some of you find her boring, but I’m captivated by her ability to blow me away with such simple looks.

Fred Leighton jewels and a polished updo complete this understated look.

Who Wore Calvin Klein Better? Claire Danes or Selita Ebanks

Calvin Klein Creative Director Francisco Costa hosted an intimate private dinner for key press and celebrities at the exclusive Restaurant Apicius in Paris during Couture Fashion Week back in July 2009.

Claire Danes looked stunning wearing a Calvin Klein Fall 2009 silver embellished dress with a jagged hem.

The elegant actress didn’t over accessorize her dazzling dress as she just added nude strappy sandals and carried a white clutch.

Selita Ebanks wore the same dress grand opening of Marquee Nightclub at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas last week.

She looked amazing from the ankles up.

What possessed her to wear black pumps with this dress will forever remain a mystery to me.

Claire wins by a very long mile.

Claire Danes In Lanvin – 2010 Whitney Gala And Studio Party

Claire Danes may not excite many of you on the red carpet, but she always looks sophisticated and very elegant.

This was very much the case when she stepped onto the red carpet at the 2010 Whitney Gala And Studio Party at The Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City last night.

Her Lanvin Resort 2011 haltered black dress had an interesting jeweled chain-link neckline.

I’m really glad she added the studded black leather belt and silver clutch to this look otherwise I may not have liked it as much.

Her blonde hair teased into a simple updo, whilst her make-up was natural and flawless.

As always, we have a perfectly nice red carpet look from Claire.

2010 London Film Festival “The King’s Speech” Premiere – Claire Danes In Prada

I was surprised to see Claire Danes on the red carpet for the 2010 London Film Festival premiere of “The King’s Speech” which was held at the Odeon Leicester Square.

The actress and her husband Hugh Dancy walked the red carpet hand-in-hand despite neither appearing in the movie.

Claire wore a Prada Fall 2010 dress which is the sleeveless Look 9 dress, with the red and black print of Look 10.

Like I said Claire wasn’t there to promote, so I think her dress is appropriate as it doesn’t attempt to steal the spotlight from the main star Helena Bonham Carter who unsurprisingly wore a Vivienne Westwood dress.

I order to lift this look from a 5 to an 8 out of 10, I wish Claire had added the two tone red and black Prada patent heels and removed that heart-shaped bracelet.

I think I had a bracelet like that in junior school.

Vanidades 50th Anniversary Celebration – Claire Danes In Narciso Rodriguez

Leigh Lezark sits in the front row of New York fashion week to boost her profile, whereas stars like Claire Danes is there to shop.

The actress was front row at Narciso Rodriguez’ Spring 2011 presentation 2 weeks ago and it looks like this fresh off-the-runway dress caught her eye.

At the Vanidades 50th Anniversary Celebration in New York last night, Claire looked stunning wearing a black Narciso Rodriguez Spring 2011 dress with a sheer embroidered asymmetrical panel going across the waist.

This sheer detailed panel is also visible via the side split on her dress.

I know many of you find it hard to get excited about Claire, but do you agree that this is a great look for her?

Black strappy sandals and her gorgeous arm candy hubby Hugh Dancy completes her perfect look.
