Claire Danes In Lanvin – Showtime’s 2013 Emmy Eve Soiree

Claire Danes In Lanvin - Showtime's 2013 Emmy Eve Soiree

Claire Danes attended the Showtime Emmy Eve Soiree held at Sunset Tower in West Hollywood, California yesterday evening.

The actress looked beautiful wearing a Lanvin Fall 2013 strapless black dress with stone-coloured butterfly appliqués, adding impact and intrigue.

What I enjoy most about this dress is the impeccable fit and construction with the internally boned bodice providing support while slimming the waist.

Like Ali Larter, Claire also decided to vamp up her look with kolh-rimmed eyes, a Dana Rebecca Designs bracelet and metallic pumps completed the look when they could’ve so easily been black.

Claire Danes In Valentino – ‘Homeland’ Season 3 Screening

Claire Danes In Valentino - 'Homeland' Season 3 Screening

Claire Danes attended the premiere screening for Season 3 of her hit series ‘Homeland’ at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington City yesterday evening.

The actress wore a dreamy Valentino Resort 2014 sleeveless organza dress accented with intricate tonal and pink embroidery with beaded embellishment which appears to be longer than the tea-length version in the look book – or the model might just be taller than the actress.

Personally, I love Claire’s floor-sweeping frock, which features a slight racer front with a high round halter neck, an open back, an A-line waist and a pleated skirt, as it has a touch more of a romantic feel about it.

A pretty pink lip colour brought out the subtle pink tones in her dress, as did the Valentino gold-hardware-enhanced pink clutch she carried with Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals providing the finishing touch.

Which length do you prefer?

Claire Danes joined her co-stars for the ‘Homeland’ panel discussion at the CBS, Showtime and The CW portion of the 2013 Summer Television Critics Association tour at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California yesterday afternoon.

The actress wore a Thakoon Fall 2013 dandelion pintucked dress which is so pretty, but sadly there are only pictures of the actress wearing it while seated.

Her sleeveless, printed, v-neck dress with an allover pleated detail and sheer floral lace insets at the back and side slit were styled with Christian Louboutin ‘Lagoula’ sandals and EF Collection diamond triangle stud yellow gold earrings.

Claire Danes for Vogue US August 2013

claire-danes-cover-story-06_134646500817

Claire Danes graces the cover of American Vogue’s August 2013 issue wearing a Burberry Prorsum Fall 2013 trench coat with a gabardine body overlaid with a rubber rain shield, gun flaps and sleeves.

The editorial, which was shot by Annie Leibovitz, features Claire with her ‘Homeland’ co-star Damian Lewis in what looks like actual scenes from the show.

With the main difference being Carrie has traded in her boring black pantsuits for a grey Victoria Beckham dress, a sexy backless Calvin Klein frock, a chic Hermes coat, a sleek Narciso Rodriguez gown and a racy red Donna Karan sheath.

In her interview, Claire shares details of her comeback after having trouble landing roles following her award-winning role in ‘Temple Grandin’, for which she won Best Actress awards at the Emmys, Golden Globes and the Screen Actors Guild Awards, as well as talking about becoming a mom and meeting Barack Obama.

You can the whole interview over at Vogue.com. Here are some extracts.

On the worldwide popularity of Homeland: “We have a phenomenal number of illegal downloads in Lebanon.”

On not finding work for two years following ‘Temple Grandin’: “It was confusing. I got a lot of plaudits, and it didn’t translate into more work. I was really, really struggling during that time. After a while you have to start to doubt yourself. It was grim. I was very hurt. Two years of not working was brutal. And a point came where I thought, I really like interior design. Someone suggested, ‘Maybe your real success is in your personal life.’”

On attending the Golden Globes as a new mom: “I went on the red carpet, went upstairs, fed Cyrus. Went into the ceremony, got the award, went back to feed Cyrus, went out again. . . . Then it was ‘Now you meet the president.’ I had these new boobs; I’m wearing a big Jessica Rabbit dress, and I’d been living in sweat pants for so long. . . . It was strange. It was dreamy, surrounded by my parents and my husband. It was one of the best nights of my life because of this perfect mash-up.”

On today’s female movie stars: “I’m so impressed by Jennifer Lawrence and Carey Mulligan. They have this exquisite taste. They are very gifted in their ability to make great choices. I didn’t have that rudder. There’s the movie star that plays herself and the movie star like Meryl [Streep] that has this wonderful, glamorous persona intact and is undone every time she takes on a new character. I think I’m astounded and titillated by that.”

Claire Danes In Oscar de la Renta – 2013 Met Gala

clairedanes

Claire Danes glittered at the 2013 Met Gala in New York, celebrating The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s ‘Punk: Chaos to Couture’ exhibit.

From a distance, her Oscar de la Renta black tulle gown, paired with a clutch and shoes from the designer, definitely echoed more ‘couture’ rather than chaotic inspiration.

But, get closer and you’ll see the gunmetal chain-mail embroidery that subtly belies a certain rebellious edge.

That said, this ensemble needed a different, punk-y hairstyle. Some teased and spiked strands to go with Claire’s smoked-out eyes and black-lacquered nails could have worked magic.
