Givenchy Hosts The Closing Of Maria Abramovic’s “The Artist Is Present” Exhibition

Last night Givenchy and Riccardo Tisci hosted a dinner party for the closing of Maria Abramovic’s “The Artist Is Present” Exhibition in New York.

Givenchy devotees Courtney Love and Ciara both attended.

Love looked surprising clean and well turned out wearing a black custom-made strapless sheer Givenchy gown, whilst Ciara opted for another look from the Givenchy Spring 2010 Couture collection which I simply adore on her.  She’s really working it.

Actress/model Veronica Webb didn’t opt for something so moody. She wore a black and white zig-zag patterned silk Givenchy Spring 2010 dress paired with black strappy sandals.

I was really excited to see Bjork back on the red carpet and it looks like she hasn’t lost any of her eccentricity.

The singer wore the boldest and brightest Givenchy look, wearing a gold ruffled dress from the Fall 2008 collection

Although I’m not crazy about her shoe choice, Christina Ricci was the best dressed at this event for me.

I love the sexy lace and feathered skirt of her Fall 2010 dress.

She is the Givenchy girl as she’s mysterious, cool, edgy and is comfortable going from Gothic to sexy.

Liv Tyler opted for Couture like Ciara. Her all black sheer look was made sexy with a pop of red to her lips.

Us Weekly Hot Hollywood Style Issue Event – Ciara In Versace

Ciara also walked the red carpet at the “Us Weekly Hot Hollywood Style Issue Event” in LA last night.

The singer wore an ultra mini Versace Spring 2010 dress which showed off plenty of boobage.

She no doubt made Donatella very proud by ozzing plenty of sex appeal in her yellow and black floral print strapless mini.

I’ll give Ciara plenty of credit for wearing this dress, because I would have been pulling it down all night as it’s so short.

I’m convinced she’s wearing the same size dress the model wore.

Versace Intrecciata metal platform sandals from the Spring 2010 collection completed the look.

Runway To 2010 Grammy Awards – Ciara In Givenchy

Givenchy muse Ciara walked the red carpet at the 2010 Grammy Awards wearing yet another Givenchy Spring 2010 Couture look fresh off the Paris runway.

On Saturday night she attended the Grammy Awards “Salute To Icons Honoring Doug Morris” event wearing a big bird like Givenchy Couture creation, but this look was more elegant.

This jumpsuit is very Dolce & Gabbana with the lace revealing the panties which didn’t faze her. She was in total control of this look.

I loved that she kept her hair back and wore minimal make-up, plus I love the detail on her jacket which had intricate coils and moon-sized rhinestone embellishing it.

Although I didn’t quite get the Givenchy/Ciara pairing, I do love this look on her. I would’ve thought this look would be hard to pull off but she did so with ease.

Runway To Grammy Awards “Salute To Icons Honoring Doug Morris” Clive Davis Event – Ciara In Givenchy Couture

Whether we get it or not Ciara is Riccardo Tisci’s current muse.

The singer attended the Givenchy Spring 2010 Couture presentation in Paris this week, so it was not a surprise to see her wearing a look from the collection to the “Salute to Icons Honoring Doug Morris” event last night.

I’m not sure if muse = wearing a head-to-toe runway look, but that’s exactly what Ciara opted for.

Whenever I see something this feathery Big Bird immediately springs to mind.

Ciara’s look consisted of a nude feathered jacket with short sleeves and a chiffon ribbon, paired with black shorts and thigh-high boots.

This is an interesting look for Ciara, but I would’ve preferred to have seen her wearing Look 6 or Look 8 or even mix up her looks to show off some creativity.

I’m starting to believe the term muse is being used very lightly these days.

Givenchy Spring 2010 Couture Front Row & After Party – Ciara In Givenchy

Front row at Givenchy’s Spring 2010 Couture show was singing superstar Ciara.

Ciara was wearing a look from Givenchy’s Spring 2010 collection and the leather skirt part of this ensemble really suits her rock chic vibe.

Because she’s opted for bare legs, I actually really like the heavy wedged boots with the look.

FC and I were kind of surprised to see Ciara doing Couture Week and even more so when we found out that Givenchy had thrown a party in her honour.

At the Givenchy party held in her honour, Ciara wore a look from the Fall 2009 collection.

I LOVE this on her. It’s not something I would expect to see her in and I adore how the velvet jacket nips her in under the bust.

Apart from her choice of black pumps, Ciara has worn this look as shown on the runway.

I’m really pleased she wore it with the neck scarf which is has knotted under her chin in a cute bow.

Social Events Of The Week

Out & About, LA

Prior to her party in London this week, Victoria Beckham was spotted out in LA with her boys wearing a very cute colourful mini Julian J Smith Spring 2010 dress with her curly bob, and blue suede YSL Trib Two heels.

Julian J Smith is a British designer who presented his first collection during London Fashion Week back in September, now he has one of the most photographed women in the world wearing his designs.

What a huge honour for him.

Avatar Photo Call, Berlin

Actresses Sigourney Weaver and Zoe Saldana attend a photocall to promote their film ‘Avatar’ Berlin.

Sigourney looked sophisticated wearing a metallic cardigan paired with wide-legged pants, whilst Zoe opted to show off her stunning legs.

Zoe wore one of the cutest pieces from Andrew GN’s Spring 2010 collection.

I love the crocheted top with a ruffled collar and black patent bow accent which complements her mini black satin skirt.

The look is teamed with a pair of beige Serigo Rossi platform heels.

BDOTW contender.

VEVO Launches Premiere Destination for Premium Music Video, New York

Lady GaGa donned an ethereal Valentino Spring 2010 dove grey strapless gown which looks like mounds of material wrapped around her tiny frame.

I love the dress, but she wears it too low down, and it gives her a look of having droopy boobs.

Even though many are over the bold shoulder trend Rihanna is still championing the look.

It seems like she just can’t get enough of spikey pieces either.

First rings, then dresses, now shoes which she pairs with her Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2009 Couture look which included a black jumpsuit, gold belt and cropped jacket look.

Ciara is such a lovely girl, with an amazing figure.

Her gold dress is outstanding, as it hugs that super toned body I’m so jealous of.

What I’m not jealous of are those red Louboutin thigh high heels.  They are cringe-worthy to say the least.

“The Lovely Bones” LA Premiere

Rachel Weisz looked so incredibly pretty wearing a baby blue strapless heavenly Valentino dress with silver platforms and a matching clutch.

Some might of opted for a neutral lip colour, but Rachel was bold enough to wear this floaty dress with bright red lips.
