Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Elsa Pataky In Paule Ka & Chris Hemsworth In Dolce & Gabbana - 2014 Golden Globe Awards 2

What’s better than one red carpet beauty? Two beauties. Or in this case, stylish couple Elsa Pataky and Chris Hemsworth, who attended the 2014 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 12) at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

Elsa Pataky: The ‘Wine of Summer’ actress wore a dress by Paule Ka. There seemed to be a trend of halter necklines on the red carpet, and Elsa joined the ranks with a gem-encrusted geometric version that looked modern and fresh. She punctuated her black column gown with sleek, side swept locks and glowy, dewy makeup.

Chris Hemsworth: Always a stylish gentleman, the ‘Thor: The Dark World’ star wore a traditional black tux with some added interest pieces for his walk on the red carpet. Chris topped his tux with a blue velvet jacket, all by Dolce & Gabbana, and sapphire and pearl cufflinks set in white gold by Martin Katz.

Sean Penn 3rd Annual Help Haiti Home Gala Red Carpet RoundupIn addition to the star-studded group of Allison Williams, Diane Kruger, Charlize Theron and many more, other standout celebs—including the guest of honour himself—were also at the 3rd Annual Sean Penn & Friends Help Haiti Home Gala, hosted by Giorgio Armani, at the Montage Hotel on Saturday (January 11) in Los Angeles, California.

Sean Penn: The actor took a pensive stance as he posed in a classic, black Giorgio Armani two-button notch lapel suit worn with a white, button-down shirt and a black neck tie. That his tie was slightly askance and loose contributed a slightly undone, devil-may-care note that only the likes of Sean could pull off. An American flag-Haiti flag combo pin on his lapel completed his ensemble.

Elsa Pataky: Standing beside her actor-husband, the Spanish-born actress was a vision in scarlet red, rocking a simply chic Giorgio Armani Spring/Summer 2014 draped-back cocktail dress, which floated over her burgeoning baby bump. She accessorized the sophisticated moment quite effortlessly with a few bangles, along with a black cylinder clutch and black platform sandals.

Chris Hemsworth: Also looking incredibly dapper, Chris worked a Giorgio Armani midnight-blue patterned suit with a white shirt and a gray textured neck tie, all of which of course highlighted his steely baby blues. I love how his and Elsa’s polished looks were coordinated without being matchy.

Thor Men LA

Some of you were a bit disappointed by the lack of variety when it came to the men’s suits at the LACMA Gala on Saturday, so this menswear post is guaranteed to prove that not all men bet on black.

Chris Hemsworth: Always guaranteed to make us swoon is Chris Hemsworth. He didn’t fail here, donning a crisp Gucci ‘Signoria’ grey peak-lapel two-button suit with a pale-blue dress shirt, silver tie and black leather lace ups. I love that he has kept this tour interesting. His burgundy suit still stands out for me.

Jonathan Howard: Opting to go one better, Jonathan wore a cobalt-blue Alexander McQueen three-piece suit styled with a pristine white shirt and a quirky grey tie with skull and polka-dot print.

Tom Hiddleston: The British actor opted for a more classic menswear look, wearing a black suit and tie. After showcasing his dance moves on Alan Carr’s ‘Chatty Man’ this weekend, he could wear a bin liner and I would still swoon.

Thor: The Dark Kingdom - Germany Premiere

Along with Natalie Portman, there were two stylish studs—Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth—at Sunday’s ‘Thor: The Dark Kingdom’ Berlin premiere at CineStar Potsdamer Platz in Germany, where those handsome co-stars also captured plenty of attention.

Tom Hiddleston: The British actor was dapper in a slick black three-piece suit, where his crisp white button-down shirt and silver tie added a touch of flair.

Chris Hemsworth: Also taking the three-piece path, Chris coordinated with Tom in a Dolce & Gabbana ensemble. His black velvet blazer with satin lapels was a luxe offering, which he effortlessly pulled off with a black vest, skinny tie and well-tailored trousers.

Menswear 24 oct

This week, the red carpets have been trod by a haute flurry of fashionable females. But a handsomely clad group of guys has also been on the scene.

Chris Hemsworth: The actor-stud showed up to the ‘Thor: The Dark World’ world premiere at Odeon Leicester Square in London on Tuesday. He paired his steely, baby blues with a richly hued, dark eggplant Dolce & Gabbana three-piece suit that certainly caught my eye.

Jared Leto: Taking a slightly more conservative turn, the entertainer was polished in an all-black Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane ensemble at the 17th annual Hollywood Film Awards at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in California on Monday. His unbuttoned, tie-less shirt and the flash of his silk, sky-blue pocket square added the touch of attitude we’ve come to expect from Jared.

Idris Elba: Joining Chris at ‘Thor: The Dark World’ world premiere, Idris rocked the Burberry threads with one of the brand’s slim-fit cashmere coats taking top billing. Statement loafers finished out his casual-cool look.

Menswear Round Up

All eyes have been on the femmes and the fashion shows lately, what with Spring 2014 runway presentations in full bloom. But there is a handful of guys that managed to steal a stare away from all that catwalk action.

Chris Hemsworth: Gracing Italy with his handsomeness, the actor attended the ‘Rush The Movie’ premiere in Rome last weekend at the Auditorium della Conciliazione. His navy Giorgio Armani suit, paired with a lighter-blue button-down shirt and slate-blue tie, really highlighted his own baby blues.

David Gandy: The hot British model brought his intense, steely stare to the ‘Harper’s Bazaar’ London Fashion Week closing party at Annabel’s in England on Tuesday. He had his own shades of grey moment in a Dolce & Gabbana three-piece suit, with a charcoal sport coat, matching tie and a black vest and trousers. The flash of a triangle pocket square accessorized the suave statement, whilst mahogany loafers provided the finishing contrast.

Hugh Jackman: The buff ‘X-Men’ star skipped the tie for his visit to the SiriusXM Studios in New York City yesterday. He was singing the blues in a tailored Louis Vuitton denim-look suit worn over a midnight-blue shirt. Do you like his more relaxed approach?
