Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Menswear 1 April

Across New York City, the men were out in force in support of two blockbuster films. Here, a glimpse at their looks.

Sebastian Stan: The Romanian actor was at the ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ screening after party, hosted at The Jimmy at the James Hotel in New York City on Monday (March 31).  Working his own shades of grey, he paired the slight sheen of his suit with the shine of a long tie.

Chris Evans: Standing alongside Sebastian, Chris worked a Gucci blue pinstripe notch-lapel, two-button ‘Signoria’ suit with a light-blue dress shirt, printed tie and black leather lace-up shoes. His ensemble really enhanced his own baby blues.

Hugh Jackman: Joining Douglas Booth at the ‘Noah’ London premiere at the Odeon Leicester Square on Monday (March 31), Hugh was simply suave in a Burberry Tailoring dark charcoal suit, contrasted with a white button-down shirt, black tie and loafers.

Scarlett Johansson In Antonio Berardi – ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ Beijing Photocall

Scarlett Johansson In Antonio Berardi - 'Captain America The Winter Soldier' Beijing Premiere

Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans attended the Beijing photocall of ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ held at Taikoo Li Sanlitun on Monday (March 24) in China. Each actor opted for a dressy-casual approach.

Samuel L. Jackson: The actor was once again dressed in Armani, selecting a cool blue look featuring a denim shirt and trousers styled with light-blue sneakers and a white beret.

Scarlett Johansson: The actress continued her run of wearing waist-nipping pieces (perhaps in an attempt to put the pregnancy rumours to rest), selecting a black-and-white knitted peplum top and flared skirt from Antonio Berardi’s Pre-Fall 2014 collection. Her hair was teased into an updo, with dangling earrings and silver peep-toes completing her look.

Chris Evans: On the one hand I’m sad not to see Chris in a sharply tailored suit; however, that oatmeal cashmere Gucci sweater is doing a fine job of showcasing his impressive physique. Rag & Bone trousers and Frye boots completed his look.

Chris Evans In Etro – Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ London Premiere

Chris Evans In Etro - Captain America The Winter Soldier' London PremiereChris Evans made a handsome appearance alongside Scarlett Johansson and Hayley Atwell at the ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ London premiere on Thursday evening (March 20) at Westfield London.

Continuing to keep us his eclectic red-carpet fashion streak, the actor sauntered out a more standard, less colourful look this time. He paired an Etro black two-piece suit featuring a white pinstripe detail with a white button-down shirt and paisley tie.

Pinstripes and paisleys did never look so polished, though.

The one constant about Chris’s style seems to be his favoured Kurt Geiger Collection ‘Grant’ shoes, which he has so far worn for every ‘Captain America’ premiere.

Chris Evans In Gucci – ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ Paris Premiere

Chris Evans In Gucci - 'Captain America The Winter Soldier' Paris Premiere

Chris Evans attended the ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ Paris premiere held at Le Grand Rex on Monday (March 17) in Paris, France alongside co-star Scarlett Johansson.

Going from navy Gucci in LA to teal-green Gucci in Paris, the actor is doing his best to keep his red carpet style varied and interesting.

Shunning the expected white shirt, he went for a different approach, going black-on-grey with the shirt-and-tie combo and completing his three-piece look with brown Kurt Geiger London Collection ‘Grant’ shoes.

Should the shoes have been black, or do you like the quartet of colours Chris is serving up here?

Oscars 2014 & Vanity Fair Party Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Oscars menThe Oscars 2014 on Sunday (March 2), and the ensuing soirees, were a fashion feast for the senses, with high-wattage gowns swishing at every glam turn. But the men provided plenty of eye candy, as well, as they suited up in their sartorial best for the stylish super-event at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California followed by the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

Matthew McConaughey: The ‘Dallas Buyers Club’ Best Actor winner not only delivered a compelling acceptance speech, he also was convincingly decked out in a Dolce & Gabbana suit, Louboutin shoes and Chopard cufflinks. Always surprising us with his wild-card jackets, this one was a crispy ivory number, which he handsomely sported with a black vest, white button-down, black trousers and bowtie.

Bradley Cooper: Looking ever so dapper in a black Tom Ford tuxedo, paired with a black bow tie and Chopard cufflinks, the ‘American Hustle’ star and Best Supporting Actor nominee wore a side of handsome scruff with his classic ensemble

Pharrell Williams: Well, he wasn’t wearing the colossal hat, but the ‘Happy’ singer and nominee still turned heads with his cutoffs. The custom head-to-toe Lanvin look featured a black wool shawl-collar, one-button tuxedo with matching shorts, a white tuxedo shirt with ivory pearl buttons, a black satin bowtie and dark gray hand-polished calfskin derbies (sans socks, natch).  Yay or nay?
