Charlize Theron has been MIA on the red carpet for a while, so it was nice to see her in a laid back casual look at this event. She wore head to toe black including a LBD, tights and ankle booties.

A make-up free Jessica Alba also opted for all black. I love her short-sleeved black top with black shorts, which she wore with black and white striped heels.

Anne Hathaway broke up the her all black look, with a black Andrew GN Spring 2009 dress which had a gold beaded neckline, and a gold rope belt.

Black pumps complete the look.

Thankfully Kerry Washington did not get the ‘all black memo’ as she arrived looking Spring fresh wearing a white and coral Jason Wu Spring 2009 ensemble, including a striped skirt, an embroidered blouse and a grey blazer.

An overwhelming 46% of you voted for Charlize Theron for your Best Dressed this week, as she took nearly half of the overall votes.

I voted for Amber Valletta in her stunning sparkling Stella McCartney jumpsuit.

Like a lot of you said, Charlize could not really go wrong in a custom-made Dior gown, whereas Amber’s ensemble was a risk, that maybe should not have worked, but it did. She even managed to wear it better than the runway model.

Charlize Theron looks gorgeously angelic in this white Grecian Roberto Cavalli halter gown with a front slit, riding right up to the thighs, and a gathered neckline.

She accessorized with black thong sandals, gold chandelier earrings, two wide bracelets in her right arm and a bronze clutch.

Mischa Barton opted for a one-shouldered floral Matthew Williamson Fall 2008 metallic gown, which as you can see shimmers.

This is a great look for the out-of-work actress.

I promise not to mention the hair.

Natalie Imbruglia’s olive green asymmetric cocktail Jasmine Di Milo Spring 2009 dress with a peplum at the waist, is really a great look for her, which she wears with strappy sandals.

Mary-Kate Olsen’s 5′1″ frame was swamped by her over-sized dress.

Why does she insist on this look time and time again?

Loved up couple, Agyness Deyn and Albert Hammond Jr arrived on the red carpet with their hands all over each other.

I will give Agyness kudos points for the sequined blue dress, but she really lets herself down with the hair.

Kylie Minogue looked stunning as she arrived at the lavish resort dressed in a pink and black floral chiffon Milly Fall 2008 gown with flowing train and spagetti straps. I love her hair teased into a curly short hairdo.

Lily Allen looked her glamorous best in electric blue strapless gown. She does scrub up well for the red carpet, despite her scruffy off-duty look.

This look is surprisingly casual for Janet Jackson, for such an event, as she does like to dress up on the red carpet.

She wears a black shirt with a Donna Karan Spring 2008 voluminous skirt, Fendi bow heels and black hat with a cream trim, whilst carrying an Alexander McQueen clutch.

Jermaine Dupri looks like a waiter.

Lindsay Lohan opted for a Temperley London LBD with a bow at the waist, and YSL tribute pumps, which are so 2007.

If you are wondering why she is there, Sam Ronson was DJing.

Charlize Theron was the belle of this ball, arriving in a black Christian Dior Fall 2008 Couture strapless dress with a sequined dripping detail effect on her sheer skirt.

Her hair was sleek straight, as she carried a black clutch and wore gold studded strappy sandals.

Jennifer Morrison continues her love affair with the Valli collection, this time wearing a black strapless Giambattista Valli Spring 2009 dress with a black and white poufy skirt.

The actress wore her hair back in loose waves and completed her look with black strappy sandals.

I loved this dress better on the runway, as the skirt had more volume.

I got really excited when I saw Blake Lively’s name on the picture agencies list.

When I clicked her name my face literally dropped when I saw what she was wearing an uncharacteristic Vena Cava Fall 2007 maxi.

I am speechless. SPEECH-LESS.

Juliette Lewis arrived wearing a silver sequined 3.1 Phillip Lim jumpsuit, which despite being a summer favourite are still very hot this Fall.

Maria Sharapova is delightfully elegantly chic in her chocolate mini Richard Chai Resort 2009 dress.

I love Tory Burch for 2 reasons: firstly, she’s never predictable on the red carpet and secondly, she’s not afraid to wear designs that are not her own.

The designer stepped onto the red carpet wearing a bold chartreuse and black velvet YSL Fall 2008 dress with a grey clutch and black strappy sandals.

Coco Rocha adopts a gypsy/ethic vibe wearing a gold headscarf with a black Gucci Resort 2009 dress with floral details.

I love this look.  It’s very different for the red carpet, but she makes it work.

This is not a look we are familiar with seeing on Chanel Iman, but the baby faced model pulls off the masculine look with great style and panache.

The black stole is a perfect added touch to her grey suit from the Daughters by Obedient Sons Fall 2008 collection.

Eva Amurri was the first actress to introduce me to the designs of Chris Benz, and she continues to stay faithful to the designer wearing a chartreuse floral Chris Benz Spring 2009 dress with an asymmetrical hem.

She matched her clutch and strappy sandals to her stand-out dress.

Well, what can you say about Agyness Deyn’s rather unique style that has not been said already?

It’s great that she likes to stand out, but for me she usually looks very comical.

This is more a stand-out look with the Mary Poppins hat and her red platform heels by Alejandro Ingelmo.

Anna Wintour loves plenty of colour and it shows here with her very colourful top, but I am not so crazy about her accompanying white skirt.

Both are from the Marni Spring 2009 collection.

Bee Schaffer looks stunning as always, in a very understated way.  She wore a strapless Thakoon Spring 2009 ivory dress, with black bands going around it.

She matches her dress with bronze Christian Louboutin heels.

Erin Fetherson is of course showing off one of her floral maxi designs from her Fall 2008 collection.

Diane von Furstenberg adopts the flapper look wearing a self designed Fall 2008 feathered hem black sequined dress, with silver embellishments.

Christian Dior & Chinese Artists, China

Charlize Theron arrived with the John Galliano, the designer of her custom-made Dior gown.

The actress looked absolute stunning, as she sparkled in the strapless gold sequin gown, which she teamed with gold accessories.

Note how she is looking at Galliano with admiration. I would too if he made me custom gowns that made me look that amazing.

Eva Green stayed away from her usual black, to wear this lime green Christian Dior Resort 2009 gown with embellished detailing on the neckline.

For me this is not one of Eva’s best looks, and the make-up is too heavy for such a brightly coloured dress.

Marion Cotillard who is the new face of Dior Bags, arrived on the red carpet wearing a fuchsia pink Christian Dior dress with matching shoes.

We have not seen much of Marion on the red carpet since her Oscar win, back in February, so it’s great to see her on the red carpet again.

“Quantum Of Solace” Premiere, Sydney

Olga Kurylenko looked drop dead gorgeous once again, showing off her long legs in a silver paillette covered mini Collette Dinnigan Spring 2009 low waist dress with metallic peep-toe Jimmy Choo’s.

Her hair was a tad mumsy, I would have loved her hair to have been pulled back in this dress.

Actor Daniel Craig and partner Satsuki Mitchell are such a beautiful couple.

Satsuki opted for a lime green satin gown which graduated with each layers to chartreuse at the hem. The dress had a plunging neckline and a long train.

The jewel tones on her clutch, matched the layers on her gorgeous gown.

MTV’s TRL “Total Finale Live”, New York

Vanessa Minnillo stood out the most at this event wearing a blue Tracy Reese strapless bow dress with white stars all over.

She wore her dress with silver star earrings and t-bar black sandals.

Beyonce performed her hits singles ‘If I Were a Boy’, ‘Single Ladies’, and ‘Crazy in Love’ during the final TRL show.

The single was looked amazing wearing a 3/4 length sleeved embroidered leather Alexander McQueen Fall 2008 jacket and skin-tight leather pants.

Every day her style choices get a little bit better. I guess now that she is married, she no longer feels the need to take style advice from her mother. THANK GOD.

Your Best Dressed last week, Taylor Swift, wore a black Shoshanna asymmetrical dress, with pleating at empire waist.

The curly haired singer wore her dress with black booties.

Hilary Duff surprised me wearing a black mini dress, with a sheer overlay, which she wore with a wide black belt.

This is a daring look for the young singer.

I adore her earrings.

“Billy Elliot The Musical” Opening Night, New York

Rachel Weisz arrived at the Billy Elliot The Musical opening night on Broadway wearing a Marc Jacobs Spring 2008 metallic embroidered shift dress with black pumps.

The British actress continues to shine on the red carpet.

The Hugo Boss Prize 2008, New York

Julianne Moore, one of the pioneers of the navy dress trend, wore a ruffled front navy Boss Black dress with black YSL Tribute Sandals to this event.

Natalie Imbruglia fire engine red sequin Jenny Packham Fall 2008 gown really sparkles, and I absolutely adore it. It is actually one of the best dresses I have seen on the red carpet this year, but her new ‘do really lets her down.

I have always known Natalie as a brunette, so this is a dramatic change, but she is not entirely blonde.

When she puts her hair behind her ears she reveal that she is still a brunette underneath.

Bizarre no?

It has been a while since we saw Charlize Theron on the red carpet.

Although I expect her to pull out all the stops and be a 10 out 10 every time she hits the red carpet, I will also except this 8 out of 10 effort for her asymmetric black Ralph Lauren dress with Dior heels.

Salma Haykek’s dress sense seems to be in direct correlation to her relationship with her baby daddy.

When all is good, out come the business-like ensembles. When times are rocky, out comes the low-cut dress that show off her enviable cleavage.

I will assume from this all black ensemble of a satin ruffle-neck high collar shirt and pants, that all is well in their relationship.

It has been like 2 lifetimes since we last saw Neve Campbell on the red carpet.

The Scream star looked tanned and svelte in a cream bandeau ruffled dress.

Actress Charlize Theron attended the German premiere of Hancock back in June.

The actress wowed everyone wearing a Christian Lacroix asymmetric pleat dress. She wore her dress with black Dior booties which were so cute as they had a silver ‘D’ on the side.

The dress has tie neck, pleated asymmetric bodice, a contrast waistband, and draped detailing on the bubble skirt.

As seen on the runway, you could be red carpet-ready in this dress which is available to purchase from Net-A-Porter’s international site £3,190/€4,180.
