Lost MoJo Award
I waited for a while to post Charlize Theron’s red carpet look at the 2010 Oscars in the hope it would grown on me, but unfortunately it didn’t.

I love the silhouette of her Christian Dior Spring 2010 Couture costume-made gown, but I didn’t like the two-tone pink.

The darker pink all over would’ve worked better for me.

The actress paired her gown with a matching Dior clutch and stunning jewels.

November 5th, 2009

The last time we saw Charlize Theron on the red carpet we were less than impressed.

I was certain it was a one-off.

Charlize proves that by gracing the red carpet last night at the LA screening of “The Road” during AFI Festival looking outstanding wearing Christian Dior – of course.

Her silver lurex Spring 2010 wrap dress has a lace trim decorating the neckline and a draped detail on the hip.

The first thing I noticed when I saw Charlize were her bejeweled Giuseppe Zanotti flats.

On most this would be a major no-no, but as with most things it works for Charlize.

Her wavy up ‘do suits the retro look she was going for, but it’s the maroon lips which stand out because it’s a shade we’re not used to seeing on the actress, plus it gives her a very grown up look.

The actress sparkled in her dress and wisely opted out of wearing jewlery, but did add a silver quilted Christian Dior clutch to complete her look.

If you thought BDOTW was going to be a forgone conclusion, Theron has changed that.

Hilary Swank continues to give red carpet master classes, this time wearing a Monique Lhuillier Fall 2009 black gown.

The cut-out details some how make the actress look even more slender and taller, and the embellish details prevent this from being a boring black gown.

Oscar buzz will guarantee you one thing – an endless supply of stunning dresses to wear on the red carpet – and that’s exactly what Carey Mulligan has been wearing lately.

The style-icon-in-the-making wore a Prabal Gurung Spring 2010 black beaded chiffon strapless dress with shirttail hem and silk faille bowtie to cinched in her waist.

She teamed her dress with tortoise-shell heels and a chunky gold bracelet.

I’m loving the quiff.

Zooey Deschanel is probably the only person who I feel dresses up with tights, rather than covers up with tights.

We often see her in various colours of tights, but on this occasion she opted for black to match the black trims on her cute Luella Spring 2010 dress.

Her look was paired with Martin Lewis for Luella bow accented heels and a black Chanel bag.

Like the runway model Zooey wears a black bow in her hair, but she opted to wears hers at the back.

There were a lot of black dresses at this event, but Kate Beckinsale’s Michael Kors Resort 2010 dress was made interesting with the asymmetrical neckline and the draped detail on the skirt.

Long gold earrings and a chunky cuff complete the sophisticated look.

Despite Diane Kruger being one of the few not to wear black at this event, I wasn’t crazy about her look.

She kept her look light and feminine wearing a Narciso Rodriguez Spring 2010 white silk dress with a rise and fall hem, but unfortunately the nude heels really let her down.

I loved how this gown billowed on the runway, and although that drama is lost on the red carpet Diane still tried to make it work.

I also preferred how the dress sits above the knee on the model, the length feels a bit awkward on Diane.

Julianne Moore is not afraid of colour, as she wore a beautiful coral dress with voluminous sleeves.

I adore the colour on her.  She can be so breath-taking at times without much effort.

The actress paired her dress with Chanel ankle strap heels, and a black Bottega Veneta Impero satin clutch.

Michelle Monaghan looked stunning in a black strapless dress with a floral embroidered detail on the bodice.

She glows as brightly as her Martin Katz jewels.

Dare I say this, but I’m bored.

Charlize Theron normally blows me away each time she hits the red carpet, but I can only get excited about her red Louboutin’s with a gold toe cap and Bottega Veneta clutch.

Her The Row ensemble is very meh!!!

AnnaLynne McCord provided the sultry glamour I was expecting from Charlize, by posing seductively in a one-shouldered black gown.

Taraji P. Henson is wearing a really nice Rachel Roy dress, but it somehow feels out of place at this event.

I’m also not loving the hair extensions. She worked the shorter style really well.

What’s most tragic is the make-up. Why does she have a layer of white powder under her eyes?

“The Burning Plain” Los Angeles Premiere

It was always going to be a hard choice to pick the BDOTW, and now Charlize Theron has walked the red carpet glowing in a mustard Christian Dior Fall 2009 chiffon dress.

The amazing dress – which complements her skin-tone – has gold embroidery details on the shoulders and a matching gold belt.

The actress pairs her dress with matching Dior heels and a gold studded clutch.

“The Burning Plain” New York Premiere

For the New York premiere Charlize Theron wore a teal blue Givenchy Resort 2010 dress.

I wasn’t particularly crazy about the dress on the runway, as it had too much going on around the neckline.

Charlize simplified the dress, paired it with some ivory Givenchy heels and a black Bottega Veneta clutch for another stunningly effortless look.

“Jennifer’s Body” Hot Topic Fan Event, LA

I love Amanda Seyfried’s Marc Jacobs Resort 2010 look.

It has a chic Parisian feel to it with it’s prim and proper style.

The navy cropped jacket with black trims, is paired with black silk shorts, black pumps and a bedazzling clutch.

Like Lindsay Lohan, Megan Fox is never at home because she’s always working the red carpet.

This time she opts for a charming dusky rose  Antonio Berardi Fall 2009 dress with a ruffle cascading down the hip.

She pairs her look with gold Brian Atwood pumps – which I don’t think work well with the dress – and a Judith Leiber clutch.

“Love And Other Impossible Pursuits” Screening, Toronto Film Festival

Natalie Portman braved a cold night to bring a bit of the tropics to Toronto, by wearing a colourful strapless Lanvin fuschia dahlia floral print mini dress.

I LOVE the colour of this dress, the slight rise and fall nature of the skirt and the rosette detail on the bust.

“Love And Other Impossible Pursuits” Press Conference, Toronto Film Festival

For the press conference black wide legged pants and a floral Chloé Resort 2010 blouse, was a simple but cute look for the actress off the red carpet.

Bergdorf Goodman

The biggest stars took to the stores here in New York for the biggest Fashion night out the world has ever seen.

My chin hit the floor when I saw Victoria Beckham – not all for good reasons.

Firstly she was not wearing a black pencil dress – SHOCKER.

Secondly she wasn’t wearing black period – minus her thigh high Gucci Fall 2009 boots.

Thirdly the dress wasn’t from her collection and lastly WOW.

Where did this woman come from? This isn’t slightly tedious VB we have been looking at for the last six months.

This is someone who wanted to shake off the boring tag and shock us all.

And she did.

Unfortunately I really didn’t like make-up, and I didn’t understand why she wore such an edgy look with a headband.

On the positive side I did like her modified Giles Fall 2009 reptile print strapless dress.

I don’t like to talk about weight on my blog, it’s number no no. But I’m sure many of you will debate her weight because she is looking a tad gaunt.

Oscar de la Renta Boutique

Sarah Jessica Parker wore her ‘Fashion’s Night Out’ tee with pride pairing it with a taffeta Oscar de la Renta asymmetrical skirt, and a black belt encrusted with diamante’s on the buckle.

I love the way she styled the tee.

Anna Wintour who organised this FNO event, showed her support for the cause by wearing the campaign t-shirt like SJP.

She paired the tee with a colour co-ordinating Prada Spring 2009 pencil skirt.

Ralph Lauren Women’s Boutique

Blake Lively turned down the sex kitten for a country chic head-to-toe Ralph Lauren look, wearing a grey embellished blouse with tweed vest and tan crocodile boots.

Camilla Belle – also in head-to-toe Ralph Lauren – went for a sexy chic look wearing a luxurious Pre-Fall 2009 grey wool one-shoulder dress with a pink crocodile belt, brown sandals.

I’m not so sure I like the longer hair, but her dress is spectacular on her.

Bloomingdale’s 59th Street Store

Lindsay Lohan wore an Emanuel Ungaro Spring 2009 Caribbean blue shirt as shirtdress paired with leggings, sky high heeled ankle boots and a trilby hat.

Macy’s Herald Square

Debra Messing looked fabulous wearing a one-sleeved charcoal Michael Kors Fall 2009 herringbone origami dress.

I love the thinner belt she wore with the dress, and the sculptured shoulder.

Vogue Pop Up Boutique at Macy’s Queens

Across town Kate Hudson was also wearing a dress from the Michael Kors Fall 2009 collection.

Her espresso check strapless dress also had origami details on the bodice.

Giuseppe Zanotti Boutique

Channeling her inner Grace Jones, Rihanna looked fierce sporting a hooded Alexander Wang cowl-neck mini dress with a pair of studded sunglasses at night, and Giuseppe Zanotti boots.

Dior Boutique

Charlize Theron was of course on hand to provide the star power to the Dior Boutique.

The actress looked outstanding from her perfectly coiffed hair to her Dior heels.

I just love her silvery blue Dior strapless dress. Hollywood glamour at its very finest.

Victoria’s Secret Lexington Store

Miranda Kerr looked uber cute wearing a colour blocking Stella McCartney Pre-Fall 2009 dress we have previously seen on Kate Walsh.

September 10th, 2009

We’ve seen Leighton Meester wearing Victoria Beckham’s dresses on set, now her co-star Blake Lively has worn this stunning blue Spring 2009 dress on the red carpet.

I love the colour on her.  VB would be proud.

What?!?!?

Now there’s a first. Georgina Chapman not wearing Louboutin’s.

I don’t think I have ever seen the beautiful designer not wearing Louboutin’s. This is as shocking as it would be if she didn’t wear her own collection on the red carpet.

Of course she did wear her own collection, this time she wore the same Marchesa Resort 2010 one-shouldered dress Diane Kruger wore recently but in black.

I’m not quite getting the wow factor from Charlize Theron wearing a black and white floral Dior dress, but there’s no denying how beautiful and chic she looks here.

Alexis Bledel walked the red carpet with Christian Siriano, so this could be a Spring 2010 preview?

Her nude one shouldered satin top and snake skirt printed skirt was accented with ravishing red Christian Dior heels.

I adore this look, the red is fabulous.

Michelle Monaghan looked lovely as ever wearing a J. Mendel’s electric purple brushstroke dress with an amazing statement necklace and Christian Louboutin for J. Mendel grey gladiators sandals.

Sporting longer hair Taraji P. Henson looked classy wearing a studded Kaufman Franco one-shouldered dress.

Love the colour on her.

August 5th, 2009

Before yesterday I hadn’t even heard of Jenna Elfman, so her wearing the same Lanvin Pre-Fall 2009 dress as Charlize Theron to the “CBS, CW And Showtime All-Star Party” has definitely put her on the map, which was probably the intention.

Jenna wore her gold metallic dress with black peep-toes and without the runway belt.

Charlize had worn the dress months earlier to the “The Burning Plain” Paris premiere at the Publicis Champs Elysees with black pumps.

If you look at the necklines you will see that the knotted detail appears on opposite shoulders.

This may explain why there is so much material on front of Jenna’s dress – she’s worn it the dress back to front, or maybe it’s a Bebe knock-off.

I don’t think you need to wonder. Charlize wins this for me.
