Anna Kendrick In J. Mendel – Oscars 2014

Anna Kendrick In J. Mendel - Oscars 2014

Anna Kendrick struck a fierce pose on the red carpet at the 2014 Oscars held at the Hollywood & Highland Center on Sunday (March 2) in Hollywood, California.

The star wore an intricate J. Mendel gown from the Fall 2014 collection.

Most stars have been taking a softer, more elegant approach to tonight’s fashion, so I love this slightly edgy look.

The asymmetrical lines, the floral detailing on the peek-a-boo midriff–it all equals the perfect combination of sophisticated and edgy.

Her accents–A sleek updo, a dark wine-colored mani, a red box clutch, and Piaget Fan Elegance earrings–are suited beautifully to the look.

Calista Flockhart made a rare red carpet appearance at the 2014 Oscars in Los Angeles tonight (March 2).

The actress, who accompanied her husband and presenter Harrison Ford, wore a white, embellished dress from Andrew Gn Resort 2014 and Jacob & Co jewelry.

Calista has maintained a low profile for the last several years and it was a pleasure to see her looking so lovely although the lined version of the dress she is wearing does not show off its amazing detail work as well as the runway version.

She kept the styling simple with a relaxed updo and emerald earrings.

Being that she’s the plus one for a presenter, I think she nailed it. The look is dressy enough for the Oscars without overreaching.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum took a glamorous stroll down the red carpet on Sunday (March 2) at the 2014 Oscars, held at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre.

The actress wore a nude confection by Reem Acra.

Jenna’s gown was a textual masterpiece, mixing sheer tulle, beading, and light-as-air ruffles. It was pure princess glamour and the actress pulled off the style like a red carpet pro.

Jenna punctuated her sweet look with jewels by Lorraine Schwartz, including intricate chandelier earrings. Upswept hair and dewy makeup completed Jenna’s Oscar style.

Jessica Biel In Chanel Couture – Oscars 2014

Jessica Biel In Chanel Couture - Oscars 2014

Jessica Biel made a captivating turn down the red carpet at the Oscars 2014, hosted Sunday night (March 2) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California.

She was among the constellation of starlets who stunned in a soft, shimmery nude or pastel colour palette, flaunting a Chanel Spring 2014 Couture strapless, embellished blush gown to perfection.

The glimmering confection wielded the enviable power of making a subtle yet spectacular statement, as it glided over her curves and into a long train like liquid silver.

A long row of buttons made the dress just as striking from the back side, with sparkling Tiffany & Co. Blue Book Collection jewels enhancing the shine factor—even if one bracelet would have been more than enough.

She completed the quietly decadent entrance with glamorously side-swept waves and a light petal-pink lip.

Charlize Theron In Christian Dior Couture – Oscars 2014

Charlize Theron attended the 2014 Oscars held at Hollywood & Highland Center on Sunday (March 2) in Hollywood, California.

The actress wore a dramatic black Dior Couture gown, which I will admit I’m still very much on the fence about as I have an issue.

It’s the sheer illusion straps that remind me of those bras with the clear plastic straps preventing me from loving the look.

From the waist down, I’m fully on board with the sheer skirt and tiered hem, which fans out into a dramatic train.

A slick back do and Harry Winston jewels completed her look.

Idina Menzel brought a bit of Broadway to Los Angeles at the 2014 Oscars on Sunday, March 2.

The singer of ‘Let it Go’, which is nominated for Best Original Song in the animated film ‘Frozen’, wore custom Vera Wang in a deep, mossy green.

The dress was all about classic glamour and fit Idina’s frame perfectly.

While I agree that the look called for some major jewels, particularly on a nominee, these were a bit contemporary for my taste. I would have loved to see her dripping with some classic pieces worthy of Elizabeth Taylor and a red lip would have amped up the glamour as well.

All in all Idina is killing it and I’m looking forward to seeing her perform tonight. Perhaps there’s even another beautiful dress up her sleeve!

Anne Hathaway In Gucci – Oscars 2014

Anne Hathaway was a breath of fresh air at the 2014 Oscars on Sunday (March 2), held at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre.

The ‘Song One’ star and presenter for the evening looked fresh and modern in a design by Gucci.

The black silk crepe column gown featured a crystal embroidered detail on the bust and waist, which was one of the most eye-catch details of the evening. One of my favourite red carpet looks of the night, the halter neck and slim silhouette gown was a beautiful example of modern, edgy glamour.

Anne accessorized her gown with Gucci shoes and a black plexiglass clutch. To allow her minimalist look to shine, Anne smartly kept her jewels and makeup minimal.

Do you love Anne’s red carpet style as much as I do?

Bette Midler In Reem Acra – Oscars 2014

Bette Midler In Reem Acra - Oscars 2014

Bette Midler reflected the colour of the red carpet at the Oscars 2014, held on Sunday (March 2) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California.

Rather surprisingly, it’s her first time actually performing at the Academy Awards.

But, before hitting the stage, The Divine Miss M wore a fiery crimson Reem Acra Fall 2014 cap-sleeve and curve-hugging gown, featuring thick scrolls of decorative rococo embroidery and a petite train.

Keeping the décolletage-enhancing square neckline sans added embellishment, she wore Lorraine Schwartz diamond earrings and bracelet. A red tonal Rauwolf clutch and Brian Atwood heels finished the look that didn’t include a matching dark rouge lip.

Divine or no?
