Taylor Swift In Gucci Première - 2014 Grammy Awards

Four-time nominee Taylor Swift was every bit a statuesque golden girl at the 2014 Grammy Awards, even before the show got underway at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on Sunday (January 26).

While the popular songstress stayed very much in her comfort zone of sparkle and shine, she still stunned in a Gucci Première gold lamé, short-sleeve fitted gown featuring a crystal mesh overlay and crystal gemstone detail at the neckline, arms and waist.

She likened the dress to ‘chainmail’ on the red carpet, and what a flashy suit of armor it was—especially with those diamond earrings.

Softening the glittery effect, she pulled her blonde locks into a side-parted ponytail and painted on a pretty pink pout.

Expected? Perhaps. Experimental? No. But, still lovely.

ColbieCaillatInEzraSantos2014GrammyAwards

Colbie Caillat hit the red carpet in an equally red gown at the 2014 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday (January 26).

The singer wore a dress designed by Ezra Santos.

Colbie’s crimson gown was eye-catching with a faux-one-shoulder design that had a textural, feather-like detail. All that, plus the turtle neck silhouette and and sexy cross-body sheer panel was all a bit too much for me. The design was interesting and complex, but it was overwhelming for the eye.

I loved how the singer kept her hair simple and high, in a top knot, but I wish she would have left the beautiful earrings at home, which competed with her busy gown.

Do you love Colbie’s gown, or do you, too, think there’s too much going on?

Gloria Estefan In Gustavo Cadile - 2014 Grammy Awards

Gloria Estefan was also on the red carpet at the 2014 Grammy Awards held at Staples Center on Sunday (January 26) in Los Angeles, California.

The Cuban legend wore a Gustavo Cadile red dress.

The form fitting gown looked a little too busy at the top with sheer sleeves, scalloped edges and embroidered flowers all coming up to a high neck in the same colour.

Adding to the look, she wore long earring and straight hair, both contributing to the baroqueness of the look from the chest up.

Aside from that, may I just say that the Latina sensation does not seem to age as she looked absolutely flawless in smokey eyes and pale orange lips.

Madonna In Ralph Lauren - 2014 Grammy Awards

Madonna took to the red carpet at the 2014 Grammy Awards, hosted at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on Sunday (January 26).

The singer, who is performing ‘Same Love’ alongside Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, had quite the plus-one in her handsome young boy, David. Even more adorable—mom and son matched in an amazing mini-me moment.

They were both dressed to the nines in Ralph Lauren; he in a dapper little Ralph Lauren Boys ensemble and she in a her double-breasted, wide-leg black tuxedo hailing from the designer’s Spring 2014 collection.

She did up the ante on the runway version of the look with a host of accessories, putting her unique spin on this suit. From the Eric Javits custom designed black felt gaucho hat sitting atop her blonde waves, to the cross pendant on her black tie and the sparkling, fingerless glove by which she carried a black cane—a necessity due to a dance injury—this mannish moment had Madonna written all over it.

The pièce de résistance had to be her grill, though, which she admitted she likes to wear when it matches her outfit.

Madge has worked the tuxedo angle many times before. Are you glad to see her return to the gender-bending look again?

ArianaGrandeInDolce&Gabbana2014GrammyAwards

Ariana Grande looked age-appropriate and sweet as she walked the red carpet on Sunday (January 26) at the 2014 Grammy Awards at the Los Angeles Staples Center.

The ‘Yours Truly’ singer wore a tea-length dress by Dolce & Gabbana.

The floral and black dress was perfect for the young songstress. The black lent an edgy vibe for the musical evening, yet the floral pattern was a dose of sweet and feminine.

The singer accessorized with ballet-pink satin pumps from Aldo and a bevy of jewels–in the form of a delicate necklace and stacked rings–by Effy.

It’s rare to see a young, up-and-coming singer dressing for her age. It’s refreshing, and I think Ariana looked beautiful. What’s your take?

Cyndi Lauper In Alexander McQueen – 2014 Grammy Awards

Cyndi Lauper walked the red carpet at the 2014 Grammy Awards held at Staples Center on Sunday (January 26) in Los Angeles, California.

The American legend went with an Alexander McQueen cape and pants ensemble.

Adding to the eccentricity, Lauper wore a massive gold choker, chain bracelets and Jimmy Choo gold shoes.

I always expect to be surprised by the rockstar in more ways than one and this time her electric red hair with smokey eyes and red lips did not disappoint.

Too much or everything you expected from Cyndi?

AnnaFarisInFitriani2014GrammyAwards

Anna Faris looked radiant on the red carpet at Sunday’s (January 26) 2014 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.

The comedian and ‘Mom’ star wore a deep blue gown by Fitriani. And the hue of the dress looked stunning against Anna’s porcelain skin.

The ever so subtle sweetheart neckline was a soft start to the silhouette which ended beautifully with a slight mermaid hemline and train for added drama. Of course, my favourite detail of the gown was the pocket-like detail on the hips, which put the focus on Anna’s small waist.

The actress added to the gown with oversized blue chandelier earrings by Sutra, which popped against her straight and simple locks.
