Red Carpet Fashion Awards

I’m almost totally speechless.

This is why I love Cate Blanchett.

No one could’ve worn this archival Christian Lacroix Haute Couture gown from Decades with the same poise, grace and elegance.

This fit for a Queen deep burgundy gown is embellished with shimmering gold crystal sequins.

I’m totally in love and in awe of this look.

I think it’s safe to say nothing is going to top this for me this year.

Nothing.

Repeat after me. “We are not worthy.”

Cate Blanchett is currently in Beijing for SKII as they announced their new “Live Clear” campaign.

Suits You Award
Cate Blanchett didn’t disappoint on the red carpet at the 2010 Tony Awards.

She of course wore Armani Privé, opting to wear a shimmering silver organza Spring 2010 suit.

Her suit with exaggerated shoulders and a wide leg pants was again worn without the moon crescent.

Many of you were very disappointed when she removed this feature from her look at the Robin Hood photocall during Cannes Film Festival, so how do you feel about its exclusion on this occasion?

Either way she totally rocks this look for me from head-to-toe.

The beautiful and talented Cate Blanchett graces the cover of W Magazine’s June 2010 issue.

With her skin glistening courtesy of SK-II, she wears a Yves Saint Laurent Edition Soir’s silk satin bustier with Chopard earrings, LaCrasia gloves and a Hermès belt.

The rest of her editorial sees her wearing looks from the Etro Fall 2010 collection.

I loved this collection so I’m very happy that Lori Goldstein styled her in the two fabulous pieces. Let’s hope they make it onto the red carpet too.

In the upcoming issue the Australian actress gives us a rare and intimate look inside her profession, with a candid interview between her husband and theater partner, playwright Andrew Upton.

The magazine hits newsstands May 25, but you can read Cate’s interview at www.wmagazine.com.

Here are some extracts:

On her inaccurate public perception: “I’m so misunderstood! I’m not focused on what other people think of me. Some people get you and some people don’t, and to spend your life trying to make people understand how deep and complex and varied you are—I think that way lies madness.” Read more…

Cate Blanchett was the main attraction at the “Robin Hood” Premiere during Cannes Film Festival this evening.

WWD announced early today that she was going to wear an Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2010 gown, much to my disappointment as the Fall 2010 collection had her name all over it.

Her McQueen Pre-Fall 2010 gown with an eagle motif had a white tulle hem.

I do like the gown she’s wearing, but I don’t love it.

Yes she totally owns the gown and looks so regal as she carries that air of superiority with such grace, but I’m not wowed by this gown by any means.

Who wears couture to a photo call?

Cate Blanchett. That’s who.

The Australian actress arrived at a photo call at the start of the 2010 Cannes Film Festival today with her “Robin Hood” co-star Russell Crowe.

Cate opted to wear an Armani Privé Spring 2010 moon-pink dress with a matching cropped sculptural jacket.

I love the cape-like sleeves on her jacket. It’s such an elegant touch to her look.

Gold Van Cleef & Arpels jewels and pink Armani Privé Spring 2010 shoes with a black strap complete her sophisticated chic look.

Can’t wait for the premiere.

The new “Robin Hood” movie stars Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett.

The two stars were in London last week for a press conference.

I was excited to see Cate wearing an Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2010 printed dress.

I’m taking it as a sign that she’s warming up to be the first to wear the Alexander McQueen Fall 2010 collection at Cannes Film Festival, or possibly the Costume Institute Gala which she’s rumoured to attend tonight.

“Robin Hood” will be screened at the opening of the Cannes Film Festival on 12 May *counts fingers* in 9 days time.

If she doesn’t wear McQueen I’m sure it will be something equally breath-taking and spectacular.

The count-down begins.
