Cate Blanchett In Giles – ‘Carol’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Cate Blanchett In Giles - 'Carol' Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Cate Blanchett attended the premiere of ‘Carol’ during the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival on Sunday (May 17) in Cannes, France.

The Australia actress decision to go big was very welcome as I was totally captivated by her Giles Fall 2015 strapless gown.

Managing pull off the complexity of the gown ever so elegantly (that picture of her walking up the stairs just made my night), I was immediately drawn in by the hypnotic print which is a refreshing change for a Cannes premiere.

Is the alluring dark romanticism lost on you, or is this another slam dunk for Cate Blanchett?

Cate Blanchett joined Rooney Mara for the Cannes Film Festival photocall for ‘Carol’ on Sunday (May 17) in Cannes, France.

Fresh off the plane from Singapore Fashion Week, the Australia actress didn’t get the memo that wearing all black to the photocall was so two day ago.

Darkly elegant, as we would expect from an Alexander McQueen look, despite the visible bra I kinda love this new direction of femininity Cate has opted for this afternoon.

Once in a while even the Queen has to shake things up in order to not become too predictable.

While I like this on Cate, I kinda wish Emma Stone had worn this for her photocall.

Cate Blanchett attended Singapore Fashion Week on Thursday (May 14), where she was also there in her ambassadorial role for SK-II.

Regal in red, she is the first celebrity to wear a look from designer Alessandro Michele’s Fall 2015 collection for Gucci.

The laid-back ease of the looser, ruffled silhouette lent a playful, flirtatious edge to the inherent sophistication of the look, which was effortlessly completed by a matching red lip and black pumps.

Giorgio Armani’s 40th Anniversary Celebration

Giorgio Armani's 40th Anniversary Celebration

A glorious guest list attended Giorgio Armani’s 40th Anniversary Silos Opening and Cocktail Reception on Thursday (April 30) in Milan, Italy. With Armani ensembles at every turn, sleekness and chicness were the order of the day.

Cate Blanchett: The queen again reigned supreme in this stunning Armani Privé Spring 2015 cream suit architecturally punctuated by a black obi-style sash. Radiantly luminous makeup and a softly swept-back ’do projected even more beauty on top of elegance here.

Chris Pine: I loved the sense of ease that characterized Chris’s polished Giorgio Armani gray suit with lavender shirt and dark tie. That he appears to be wearing his loafers sans socks only contributes to the effortlessly handsome look on this occasion.

Hilary Swank: Her sculptural, asymmetric Armani Privé Fall 2014 cocktail dress was a work of art with red floral embroidery and netted overlay for a ladylike yet bold statement.

Cate Blanchett Loves…Roksanda

Cate Blanchett Loves Roksanda

Cate Blanchett and Roksanda Ilincic: Two power girls with an impeccable sense of style—and who have actually become much of a perfect star-designer match. In fact, Cate can’t seem to get enough of the London-based designer’s bold block colours, artistic-inspired aesthetic, and signature, contemporary lines.

For the actress, who is elegance personified, Roksanda is right in keeping with her classic grace while maintaining a directional, modern spirit.

We’ve seen Queen Cate wear the versatile label for several years now, kicking off her chic streak at the ‘Blue Jasmine’ Los Angeles press conference where she showed that simple is sometimes the best answer in a richly hued bordeaux dress from the Fall 2013 collection.

Colour was also key in her effortless, vibrant coral Roksanda Ilincic Fall 2013 gown at the ‘Blue Jasmine’ Sydney premiere—a look that was set afire with her deep magenta lip.

From minimalism to a more fashion-forward edge, the actress once again impressed in a Fall 2014 frock at the Film Independent Spirit Awards 2014, which was brilliant for its confident colour-blocking, flower decal and metal belt.

Giving the dresses a rest, she sported a more mannish ensemble earlier this month at The Ellen DeGeneres Show, suiting up in a Resort 2015 blue blazer and pants.

Going from strength to strength, Cate most recently delighted in a geometric lavender and coral-pink Pre-Fall 2015 dress for the ‘Cinderella’ Sydney premiere. The charming outing was the icing on the cake of her Roksanda run that shows no sign of slowing anytime soon.

Cate Blanchett In Roksanda - 'Cinderella' Sydney Premiere

Cate Blanchett was flying solo on the red carpet for the Australian premiere of Disney’s ‘Cinderella’ at State Theatre on Sunday (March 15) in Sydney, Australia.

I adore her Roksanda Pre-Fall 2015 frock for its striking approach with the structured blocks of colour accenting the piece perfectly balanced by the feminine appeal of the fluid skirt.

I will have to take away points for the uninspiring foot wear as I would’ve loved for her to have worn those complementary LookBook heels, but we can’t always get what we want.

With a rosy glow, the look was complete with a simple ponytail.

Ankles up, this is another gorgeous look from the red carpet queen.

Cate Blanchett In Roksanda - The Ellen DeGeneres Show

Cate Blanchett made a guest appearance on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ on Tuesday (March 3) promoting her latest movie, ‘Cinderella’, which had its LA premiere on Sunday.

The actress wore a Roksanda cerulean-blue suit from the Resort 2015 collection paired with a white Peter Pilotto Pre-Fall 2015 blouse accented with a blue and black printed bib.

Pains me to say, but I’m not a fan of this look.

Where it falls down is the busy blouse. There is far too much going on, but this print did work on the darker backdrop of Margot Robbie’s Peter Pilotto jumpsuit.

I would also question the size, but looking at the model in the look book, the fit is apparently supposed to be boxy.

Looking for a plus, I do love the cool blue hue, which enhances Cate’s radiant glow.

Yay or nay for Cate in this Roksanda suit?
