Giorgio Armani Spring 2009 collection was full of luxe fabrics of organza and chiffon, with a colour palette of light and pastel shades of sandy beige to sea shell brown.

The designer presented a mixed collection of romantic above-the-knee dresses, ankle-length gowns, Bermuda shorts and slim pants.

Signature pieces like tuxedo/blazers were given a modern touch, with asymmetrical buttoning. Dresses were either strapless or layered with petals.

Red carpet dresses were admired by Armani faithful Cate Blanchett, who like Renee Zellweger, was no doubt shopping for her next red carpet gown.

*Sigh*

With her effortless beauty, my number one girl crush Cate Blanchett, as expected, was in the front row for Armani’s Spring 2009 collection.

Looking better than ever wearing an Armani Privé ensemble, with a bow, which was very much a the signature of the Armani Privé Fall 2008 collection. Looking at Cate, it is easy to see why this collaboration between actress and designer works so well.

Solange Knowles opted for a very classy Giorgio Armani Pre-Fall 2008 suit, with a checked blazer and black velvet pants. The look was perfect with her Armani Privé heels, the multi-coloured layered pearls, but Solange would not be Solange if she did not ruin perfection, so she did so by wearing pink knuckle dusters.

Why? I have absolutely no idea.

Emporio Armani Spring 2009 collection had a colour palette of in navy and white, with shades of grey here and there. The trousers picked up on the trend from New York Fashion Week, and were either either cigarette pants or harem-inspired.

Blouses and dresses were adorned with large statement necklaces, which is very much a Fall 2008 trend, which looks set to be a Spring 2009 trend.

Solange, was lucky enough to wear another Armani piece, and this time she ruined it with a ridiculous feathered thing on her head.

If only she would stop trying so desperately hard.

Giorgio Armani Boutique Opening Cocktail Party

Cate opted for a simple LBD with Prive heels.

Solange finally took it down a notch or 12, when she wore this classic black Giorigo Armani Fall 2008 dress, with exaggerated hips. She accessorized with a large statement necklace, and a blue clutch.

“The Incredible Hulk” Premiere, Japan

With her hair tied back, Liv Tyler wore this strapless black floral print Luisa Beccaria dress, which she teamed with a pair of Sergio Rossi strappy black heels.

Helpmann Awards, Sydney

Queen of the Red Carpet, Cate Blanchett showed off her post-pregnancy body in a black satin Armani dress.

The stunning actress, looked slim and svelte in the tight-fitting dress, which she accessorized with a pair of diamante-encrusted Roger Vivier shoes.

Fergie Footwear Collection Launch, Las Vegas

Fergie presented her new footwear collection, wearing a pair of tan gladiator heels from her Fergalicious by Fergie collection, with a white Dolce & Gabbana shift dress.

“The Dark Knight” Press Conference, Toyko

Maggie Gyllenhaal redeems herself from last nights disastrous orange JPG dress, to this simple black sheath dress, with lilac platforms.

“The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor” Premiere, LA

Michelle Yeoh wore gold YSL Tribute sandals, with her sunshiny canary yellow dress.

Maria Bello opted for black patent strappy platforms, with her white asymmetric white dress, which had an interesting train at the back.

“Get Your Rock On!” With The Cast of “The American Mall”, LA

I love the nude make-up Monique Coleman has opted for here with a touch of shimmer.

The High School Musical actress has jumped on the LWD trend by wearing this strapless white Privee pocketed dress.

Victoria Justice tries to pull off the masculine trend with the hat, waistcoat, pants and lace up boots.

There is a little too much going on with the sequined top thrown into the mix, but she marginally pulls it off.

Bresha Webb matched her lilac eye make-up, to her beautiful Zac Posen satin keyhole mini dress.

I am not crazy about Nina Dobrev purple taffeta halter-neck dress. But I do applaud her choice of Nicholas Kirkwood heels.

Autumn Reeser wears another LWD.

Her Alice + Olivia V Neck Ruffled dress is tiered with delicate lace on the skirt, and has a lace floret on the shoulder.

I love Cate Blanchett, as she always looks amazingly flawles.

When Cate wore this blue Balenciaga dress to the 18th International Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala last year, I officially fell in love with her.

The dress was so unexpected of her as it was so edgy, but she so pulled it off.

Ashanti wore the same dress to BET “106 & Park” in New York last week wearing the same dress with bright yellow t-bar shoes.

Unfortunately for Ashanti is does not even come close to pulling this dress off. The dress looks very S&M on her, and the belt totally ruins the look.

Cate by a landslide.

Queen Cate Blanchett first wore this Chanel Fall 2006 Couture dress back in 2006 to the Volver London Film Premiere.

Cate wore the stunning black dress with a gold turtle-neck and hemline, with black tights and knee-high boots.

Heiress and Couture Queen, Daphne Guinness wore the same mini couture dress with incredibly high platforms and a Azzedine Alai waist belt.

Despite Daphne being the Queen of Couture, and just recently finished shooting a 24 page Vogue Italia spread in Fall 2008 couture gowns, I MUCH prefer this dress without the belt, so Cate wins for me.

Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull Premiere, Australia

Australian’s golden girls needed a dress to match, so Cate Blanchett attended this premiere, without her co-stars, wearing a draped gold lamé Lanvin dress and black heels.

It is quite baggy, but for a woman who just gave birth 4 weeks ago, and has been looking amazing on every red carpet, the baggy element can be forgiven.

“Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” Premiere, New York

Whilst Cate was promoting the Indiana Jones flick in Australia, the rest of the cast including Harrison Ford, were promoting in New York. His gorgeous partner Calista Flockhart was as ever by his side.

Harrison and Calista were dressed more casually than their Cannes appearance.

Here Harrison was head to toe in grey, whilst Calista was head to toe in pink. Her taffetfa pink cocktail dress, were perfectly complimented with her nude Christian Louboutin Catenita platform pumps.

I do like Ashanti’s black kimono style MLH Louisa Peacock Sequin Dress, but I do not like the eye make-up. In fact I do not like the Barbie make-up period.

Ashanti wore her dress with a pair of gold Gucci Spring 2008 heels.

It is so refreshing to see Michelle Williams look casual, and not wearing anything designed by Tina Knowles. It is also refreshing to see her back to her natural hair colour.

36th Annual FIFI Awards, New York

Yesterday I commented how Taylor Momsen gown was too much for her, but this lime green Marchesa Spring 2007 is just right for her.

It’s cute, young, frilly, floaty and fun. Which is why she appears to be happier wearing this dress.

Minka Kelly’s soft pink Marchesa Spring 2008 ensemble is so dreamy.

The embroidered detail on the bowed jacket is beautiful, as is the bubble hemmed skirt.

Her stunning clutch is a gold leather Bel Air clutch by Daniel Swarovski.

Alyson Hannigan is stunning in this white strapless gown. I wish we could see more of her on the red carpet.

Bernadette Peters azure blue Zac Posen dress hugs everyone of her delightful curves.

Nikki Blonsky is a very pretty girl with a great figure. What she does not have a great stylist who can help her accentuate her hourglass figure.

She is dressed in black too much for my liking.

Padma Lakshmi is wearing the Designer of the Week, Lanvin. Her sunflower yellow asymmetric dress is from the Lanvin Spring 2008 collection.

The actress/author, adds a black belt to give her dress more shape.

Sandra Denton and Cheryl James of Salt n’ Pepa are back, looking as young as they did when the first hit the chart’s with Push It.

Danity Kane can some times get it right on the red carpet. This is not one of those times. As usual the styling is all over the place.

Dawn, (second from the right) in an attempt to stand out from the group, is wearing a Nicole Miller gown, looking like she is going to the Oscars or the SAG Awards, whilst the rest of her girls are more in tune with each other wearing cocktail mini dresses.

I think in a group it is important to dress like you are in cohesion with each other, but this does not mean wearing the same clothes nor the same colour.

Asian Women Of Achievement Awards 2008, London

Elizabeth Hurley surprisingly does not don a sari for this event. Instead she opts for this lavender plunge-neck empire-waist gown which is divine (no pun intended) on her.

“Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” Premiere

Calista Flockhart and Harrison Ford, as usual, looked blissfully happy as they took to the red carpet this weekend. She was wearing a stunning blue silk one-shouldered Bill Blass Fall 2008 gown, whilst he was very dapper in a black suit with a satin tie.

Cate Blanchett wore a grey in a strapless lattice Armani Privé Spring 2008 gown with a necklace from the Chopard Red Carpet collection.

Natalie Portman wore a simple black Chanel gown, but still stood out on the red carpet thanks to her red lipstick.

Looking at Salma Hayek on the red carpet these days is like watching TV on mute. Although her jade silk Balenciaga dress is pretty enough, her whole look seems very subdued.

Maybe it’s the Frida Kahlo hair, but something is just off.

Kelly Brook arrived on the red carpet with her on-again fiance Billy Zane. She was wearing a baby blue daisy-printed cute haltered Luisa Beccaria Spring 2008 dress, with nude Christian Louboutin Catenita platform pumps. He was wearing sneakers on the red carpet…a big no no.

Rachel Leigh Cook was pretty in pink wearing a Elsie Katz Couture Spring 2008 dress, with tulip skirt, a tulle trim and a diamante belt. She accessorized with a Daniel Swarovski bag.

Linda Evangelista wore a dramatic one shoulder champagne silk gown embroidered in sequins from the Lanvin Fall 2008 collection.

Star Jones is sparkling in this see-through beaded dress.

“Vicky Christina Barcelona” Premiere

Penelope Cruz looked like a swan on the Cannes red carpet in a backless white Marchesa gown with 60 carats-worth of Chopard jewelery.

Rebecca Hall matches Penelope in the style stakes, wearing this sea green Alberta Ferretti one-shouldered pleated gown.

Aishwarya Rai opted for a fushica deep plunging Roberto Cavalli Pre-Fall 2008 gown.

Russian-born actress, Svetlana Metkina looks amazing in this pink Balmain Spring 2008 strapless maxi dress.

“Vicky Christina Barcelona” Photocall

Penelope Cruz drove the paparazzi crazy in this steel blue L’Wren Scott Spring 2008 fitted dress with maroon velvet trim.

Quintessentially & Margherita Missoni Cannes Party For OrphanAid Africa

Mischa Barton looks stunning in this Missoni Spring 2008 floral gown. This is her best dress since she arrived at Cannes.

Margherita Missoni wears this gold embellished Missoni Spring 2008 wrap, over her dress whilst carrying a Louis Vuitton Limelight clutch.

Vanity Fair Party

Mischa Barton sure does love her headbands.

For this party Mischa wore a Roberto Cavalli Fall 2008 gown with sequined detail.

Vanilla Gorilla Party

Maria Menounos attended a party on the Bud Light Yacht, in a mint green silk devore halter dress with knot detail from the Catherine Malandrino Spring/Summer 2008 collection.
