Cate Blanchett In Proenza Schouler – Elle’s 19th Annual Women In Hollywood Celebration

Cate Blanchett attended Elle’s 19th Annual Women in Hollywood celebration, which was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, yesterday evening.

The Australian actress wore a Proenza Schouler Spring 2013 dress to the Calvin Klein sponsored event – our first look from this collection on the red carpet.

Her multi-coloured print dress with fitted waist, blue dotted details on the bodice and grommet details along the hem of the skirt was styled with conservative accessories.

They included Roger Vivier bow-accented pumps and a black box clutch.

A simple updo completed her much-improved-from-her-last-outing look.

Cate Blanchett In Fendi – 2012 Helpmann Awards

After a long absence from the red carpet, Cate Blanchett hit the red carpet at the 2012 Helpmann Awards in Sydney, Australia, last week.

The actress wore an LBD from the Fendi Fall 2012 collection.

Between the waxy-looking balloon sleeves and the suffocating neckline, I can’t say this is Cate’s finest hour.

A black leather clutch and black round-toe pumps completed this instantly forgettable look.

I just wish Cate would find her way back to Armani. It’s the place where she was at her happiest.

Cate Blanchett In Givenchy – Gotham Magazine Party

Cate Blanchett attended the Gotham Magazine party at The London Hotel in New York City last night to celebrate her cover.

Even though I’m still recovering from her first Givenchy Resort 2013 look from earlier in the week, the actress selected her second look from said collection for this event.

Once again I’m not excited about this look.

Cate has always has a good relationship with Givenchy, but maybe she should consider going on a break because this collection is not doing her any favours.

The black-and-white blouse would’ve looked great with a simple black pencil skirt or cropped pants, because I really dislike the printed pencil skirt.

Then factor in those Roger Vivier ‘Cloud’ black lace-up open-toe booties once again, plus the black-and-orange Givenchy woven clutch and we have yet another overly fussy look.

Cate Blanchett In Preen – ‘Uncle Vanya’

Cate Blanchett was spotted leaving the New York City Center yesterday evening following her performance in ‘Uncle Vanya’ yesterday evening.

The actress wore a Preen Resort 2013 dress.

Her short-sleeved jacquard dress features contrasting two-tone, leopard-stamped prints, a high round neck, an A-line silhouette and pleating at the waist.

She styled the look with a black Jason Wu ‘Daphne’ cross-body bag and black pumps.

This isn’t her first Preen Resort 2013 look, however.

Last Wednesday she attended the cast photocall for ‘Uncle Vanya’ in New York City wearing a Preen black suit with a short-sleeved, button up shirt featuring a vibrant striped print, a solid collar and solid cuffs.

She styled her chic look with classic Roger Vivier black ballet flats.

I love both looks. They are a huge step up from her Givenchy disaster earlier this week.

Cate Blanchett In Givenchy – ‘Uncle Vanya’ New York Photocall

Cate Blanchett attended the ‘Uncle Vanya’ cast photocall in New York City on Saturday afternoon.

The Australian actress donned a Givenchy Resort 2013 dress.

Cate can usually pull off trick pieces like this with total ease, but there is something about this look that isn’t quite working for me on this occasion.

The model worked this dress with a pencil skirt, flared elbow-length sleeves and a geometric bodice with a paisley printed scarf-like detailing to perfection.

Maybe it’s the addition of Cate’s overly fussy Roger Vivier ‘Cloud’ black lace-up open-toe booties which sent me over the edge.

A side-parted hairstyle and natural-looking makeup completed the look.
