Maison Louis Vuitton Vendôme Opening

Paris Fashion Week also ushered in the grand opening of the Maison Louis Vuitton at Place Vendôme in Paris, France on Monday (October 2), with a number of the brand’s biggest fans in attendance—and all donning signature LV looks.

Cate Blanchett: As hard as I tried, I just couldn’t get on board with what Cate was serving up here. Between the silken, emerald green jacket and leather belt, the pinstripe blouse and its exaggerated cuffs, and the racing stripe track pants, it looked like she had borrowed pieces from three different looks that should have never been in the same room together.

Julianne Moore: With a look that was as close as Julianne could get to her favoured LBDs, she brought an elegance to this distressed lace dress that was reinforced by her simple approach to styling with a complementary clutch and sandals.

Alicia Vikander: I know that some question the Alicia and LV pairing, but she just wears the looks so effortlessly—even this rebellious combination between a striped top and leopard skirt, topped off with combat boots, had an undeniable cool-girl vibe.

Front Row @ Givenchy Spring 2018

Paris Fashion Week saw a host of pretties on the front row at the Givenchy Spring 2018 show on Sunday (October 1) to witness designer Clare Waight Keller’s first collection for the label.

Lily Collins: Angelic with an edge. That’s exactly how I’d describe Lily’s diaphanous white lace dress punctuated by the black under-straps and mod white booties. I did find myself wishing for a more streamlined, barely-there black sandal here.

Cate Blanchett: Queen Cate was back in all her glory in this impossibly chic suiting ensemble. I love how the cropped proportions and the midnight-blue lip motif on the jacket—coupled with her pendant necklaces—brought a sense of unconventional yet effortless sophistication to the look.

Fan Bingbing: Despite its all-white palette, there was a dramatic allure that permeated this trench dress that saw Fan continuing to step across the line of her go-to, princess-and-platform styles. She balanced the subtle mystique of the sheer sleeves, which was echoed in the sheer gloves and sheer pants, with her sleek bun and bold red lip.

Front Row @ Giorgio Armani Spring 2018

The front row of the Giorgio Armani Spring 2018 show on Friday (September 22) during Milan Fashion Week paid homage to the designer’s impeccable tailoring with suiting reigning supreme.

Amber Valletta: The model demonstrated suiting needn’t be stuffy with a grey one-button jacket and coordinating wide-leg trousers. Round-toe shoes echoed the relaxed fit of the grey suit. Although, I find myself missing a pointed-toe.

Princess Charlene of Monaco: Making another appearance at Milan Fashion Week, the Princess exuded elegance in shades of grey. A wrap top and cuffed trousers were topped with a dove grey trench. Warm grey accessories dabbled with different textures completed the outfit. It’s a shame about the creases on the pants, because this is neutrals and layering at their best.

Cate Blanchett:
The longtime Giorgio Armani fan and campaign star brought some colour to the FROW with her burgundy and white dogstooth pantsuit and coordinating checkerboard shirt. There are so many striking elements in the ensemble from the jacket’s structured shoulders to the witch-y boots, but my eyes are drawn to the quirky round glasses with statement brow bar.

Cate Blanchett In Monse – Comic-Con 2017: Marvel Studios ‘The Thor: Ragnarok’ Presentation

It’s been awhile since we’ve seen Cate Blanchett on the red carpet, so I was fully looking forward to welcoming the style queen back to her throne.

The look she debuted for ‘The Thor: Ragnarok’ presentation on Saturday (July 22) at Comic-Con 2017 in San Diego wasn’t exactly what I had expected, though, from the sartorially elegant actress.

But, leave it to Cate to take even Monse’s affinity for deconstructed, oversized menswear-inspired designs down a more put-together route. However, I will be the first to admit that my initial gut reaction to the Resort 2018 blazer and baggy racing stripe pants was not entirely one of excitement.

Yet, the chic nonchalance with which she wore the separates—complete with her smoky eye and silver Tod’s sneakers—did grow on me, especially as this was a Comic-Con panel.

What do you make of it all—chic or sloppy?

Cate Blanchett In Valentino – ‘Manifesto’ Tribeca Film Festival Premiere

Cate Blanchett was back on the red carpet for the premiere of ‘Manifesto’ during the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival on Wednesday (April 26) in New York City.

It’s rare that I view any Fall runway outfit and wish the actress had kept the coat, but that was definitely the case with this Valentino Fall 2017 look.

Usually Cate can sell anything to me, even those double layered Louis Vuitton trousers, but this is awful.

Shapeless, uninspiring, bland styling. I’m quite shocked at how bad this is.

If you can find one positive other than her gorgeous face, please let me know in the comments.
