Cate Blanchett In Maison Martin Margiela - 29th Santa Barbara International Film Festival

Cate Blanchett attended the 29th Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Saturday (February 1) at the Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara, California, where she received the ‘Outstanding Performer Of The Year’ award.

The actress wore a multi-coloured Maison Martin Margiela Spring 2014 honeycomb sequined sleeveless frock.

I love how she turned this look on its head from the runway’s overcoat styling and made it into a chic, event appropriate dress.

The look works both ways don’t you agree?

Sporting rosy cheeks, a pink lip and sleek straight tresses, Cate completed her look with Casadei silver ‘Barbarella’ pumps.

Cate Blanchett In Givenchy - 3rd Annual AACTA Awards

Having attended the AACTA International Awards earlier this month in LA, Cate Blanchett arrived at the 3rd Annual AACTA Awards Ceremony held at The Star on Thursday (January 30) in Sydney, Australia.

Wearing her second Givenchy look this awards season, the Australian actress displayed a little more cleavage than usual, wearing her glitzy sequined mahogany-and-gold Givenchy Spring 2014 sleeveless gown with a plunging neckline, leather trims at the arm openings and waist, and a pleated skirt.

Her stop-and-stare look was styled with gold sandals, silver earrings and a sweeping updo.

I was starting to think Cate was losing her edge, but this is more like the Cate Blanchett I know and love. Edgy, yet feminine and elegant. This is my favourite look from her this awards season.

Cate Blanchett In Fausto Puglisi - 'The Monuments Men' LA Photocall

On Thursday (January 16), the afternoon of the Critics’ Choice Awards, Cate Blanchett attended a photocall for ‘The Monuments Men’ at Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles in Beverly Hills, California.

The Australian actress wore a black-white-and-purple colour-block jersey dress from the Fausto Puglisi Pre-Fall 2014 collection, which she styled with simple black pumps.

When I think of Fausto Puglisi embellishments, palm-tree and tartan prints immediately spring to mind, so it’s refreshing to see something a bit more toned down from the brand.

This style of dress I would wear in a heartbeat.

Cate Blanchett In Givenchy – 2014 SAG Awards

Cate Blanchett was a rosy vision on the red carpet of the 2014 SAG Awards Saturday in Los Angeles (January 18).

The star wore a Givenchy Spring 2014 draped gown with sparkling pink sequined accents styled with Chopard jewels and Roger Vivier ‘Smocking’ sandals.

Her blush-hued eyeshadow, blush and lipstick are the most superb complements, and the easy-going updo leads us to believe that it really might be easy for Cate to look this gorgeous.

Because of the bodice of this gown, I’m thinking it might be polarizing, despite how much I love this look. So let me know–are you as smitten as I am?

Cate Blanchett In Lanvin - 2014 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Cate Blanchett looked regal, as always, attending the 19th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards held at Barker Hangar on Thursday (January 16) in Santa Monica.

The Best Actress nominee for ‘Blue Jasmine’ wore a head-to-toe Lanvin Pre- 2014 look consisting of a bottle green long stretch crêpe short-sleeve dress kept contemporary with a wide black leather belt with crystal detailing, which she styled with black suede sandals with lacquer stiletto heels and a black Roger Vivier ‘Cerniera’ clutch.

To some, this may come off as just a t-shirt maxi dress, but thanks to the styling, the hypnotic colour against her pale skin, those sleek blonde locks, and the orange lip, this is yet another stunning look from Cate.

Cate Blanchett's 2014 Golden Globes Romantic Makeup LookCate Blanchett went with classic black with her Armani gown, though her makeup artist, Jeanine Lobell wanted to stay away from the classic red lip when it came to Cate’s pout.

“We didn’t want to do the expected red lip to go with her gorgeous Armani black gown,” says Jeanine. “So we went the softer route. No harsh lines. Instead, I blended colors for dimension.”
Jeanine made what was essentially custom lip color for Cate. She mixed Giorgio Armani Rouge Ecstasy Lipstick in Scarlatto and Boudoir. Her trick? She first applied Scarlatto (a raspberry rose) then applied Boudoir (a nude rose) directly over it.

Cate’s matte, even-toned look all began with prep work. Jeanine prepped Cate’s skin with the SK-II Facial Treatment Mask. Afterwards, she applied the Lancome Translucence Mattifying Silky Press Powder. She layered the Nars Highlighting Blush in Satellite of Love to highlight Cate’s cheekbones, giving her a beautiful flush.

Using the Chanel Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eye Shadow in Intuition, Jeanine blended the pinky-beige and goldy-beige shades together and dusted them from lid to lash line. She then used the Chanel Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Emervielle for a hint of colour to add dimension without the need for liner. Countless coats of Lancome Hypnose Waterproof Custome Volume mascara were used to really make Cate’s lashes pop.

To complete Cate’s look, Jeanine used the Nars Brow Shader and Brow Gel to create a defined, but not-too-harsh brow.
