Cate Blanchett In Givenchy – ‘Cinderella’ Berlin Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Cate Blanchett In Givenchy - 'Cinderella' Berlin Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Cate Blanchett captivated during both the ‘Cinderella’ photocall and premiere hosted at the 65th Berlinale International Film Festival in Berlin, Germany on Friday (February 13).

Photocall: At the Grand Hyatt Hotel, the actress who plays the Evil Stepmother in the film couldn’t have looked more chic in a Givenchy Pre-Fall 2015 ensemble. The relaxed tailoring of the loose white blouse melded perfectly with the more structured silhouette of the belted skirt and side ruffle detail. The semi-visible balconette bra underneath only added another layer of allure to the look, which she finished with a sophisticated side-parted bun and black Givenchy ‘Matilda’ sandals.

Premiere: Cutting a wickedly good profile, Cate let her hair down for the red carpet at Berlinale Palace and stunned in a bold Givenchy Pre-Fall 2015 metallic gown, slightly modified from the lookbook version. She played her own version of the game of Tetris in the gleaming dress. The pixel-inspired block design was graphic, geometric and glorious, and she balanced it perfectly with Givenchy ‘Clara’ sandals and tousled blonde waves.

An impressive double fashion feature—Queen Cate has done it again.

Cate Blanchett In Alexander McQueen – 4th AACTA Awards Ceremony

Cate Blanchett In Alexander McQueen - 4th AACTA Awards Ceremony

Cate Blanchett joined Rose Byrne at the 4th AACTA Awards Ceremony, held at The Star on Thursday (January 29) in Sydney, Australia.

The actress donned a rather unexpected look in this Alexander McQueen Spring 2015 Geisha pink satin, kimono-sleeve gown with contrast black paneling on the sleeves and the skirt.

The long and languid silhouette was in the spirit of the lingerie trend, with a slight costume flair.

The typically elegant Queen Cate was radiant with her black jade and diamond hoop Lorraine Schwartz earrings, rose-coloured lip and blonde waves.

Did you like her step outside of her more expected classic route?

Best Dressed Of The Week – Amal Alamuddin In Stella McCartney & Cate Blanchett In Giambattista Valli Couture

Best Dressed Of The Week - Amal Alamuddin In Stella McCartney & Cate Blanchett In Giambattista Valli Couture

From Amal Alamuddin’s wedding to George Clooney, her Stella McCartney suit was not only your favourite from the festivities, but also won best-dressed of the week, beating the usually unbeatable Cate Blanchett.

Swept away by Amal’s grace and effortless style, this look had us begging for more. With awards season just around the corner, we might just get our wish.

Despite an unusually, uncharacteristically poor week from Cate Blanchett, her one hit in Giambattista Valli Couture was enough for me to crown her BDOTW. Let’s pray this was an off week and she’s back on top form very soon.

Cate Blanchett In Givenchy – ‘Timeless Portofino’ Gala Event

Cate Blanchett In Givenchy - 'Timeless Portofino' Gala Event

Cate Blanchett attended a gala event for ‘Timeless Portofino’ hosted by luxury watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen on Monday (29 September) in Hong Kong.

The Australian actress wore a Givenchy Fall 2014 black chiffon lace blouse with black satin oversized cropped trousers, a look which, much like her Stella McCartney and Christian Dior Couture dresses, falls way below her impeccable standards.

Yes, it’s the top with the revealed bra I despise. What a truly horrible design. This so not the great Cate I know and love.

We’ll have to chalk this up to an off weekend for Cate, but we had at least one great look from this event thanks to her Giambattista Valli Couture ensemble.

Cate Blanchett In Giambattista Valli Couture – IWC Gala Dinner

Cate Blanchett In Giambattista Valli Couture - IWC Gala Dinner

Cate Blanchett was back on the red carpet for the exclusive IWC Gala Dinner, ‘Timeless Portofino’, hosted by IWC CEO Georges Kern during the Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) on Saturday (September 27) in Zurich, Switzerland.

While I wasn’t a fan of the green Dior Couture coatdress, this Giambattista Valli Fall 2014 Couture look is everything and just a little bit more.

Some have said that Cate appears to be ‘phoning it in’ and not paying too much attention of late, I would say that this look is perfection personified.

Graceful and elegant with no need to deviate too far from the runway styling, I’m stunned at how a simple white shirt and garden-print mermaid skirt can leave me breathless.

The look was, of course, styled with an IWC timepiece.

Cate Blanchett In Christian Dior Couture – ‘Blue Jasmine’ Zurich Film Festival Screening

Cate Blanchett In Christian Dior Couture - 'Blue Jasmine' Zurich Film Festival Screening

Cate Blanchett was back on the scene at the 2014 Zurich Film Festival after her IWC photo exhibit opening, attending the ‘Blue Jasmine’ screening later in the day on Saturday (September 27) in Zurich, Switzerland.

Somewhat reflecting the ‘green carpet,’ the actress selected a regal Christian Dior Fall 2014 Couture forest-green silk frock coat with the same mahogany pumps seen earlier.

With the full-skirted form and exaggerated collar mixed with a zipper front detail and embellished white statement belt, the dress had the unique position of being both period and futuristic. Still, I found myself wishing for the bodice and sleeves to be more neatly fitted.

Accounting for the voluminous shaping, Cate streamlined the styling with simply a light pink lip and a loose, breezy updo completing the look.
