Cate Blanchett In Schiaparelli Couture & Alexander McQueen – ‘Truth’ Fellowship Special Presentation Gala & London Film Festival Awards

Cate Blanchett In Schiaparelli Couture & Alexander McQueen - 'Truth' Fellowship Special Presentation Gala & London Film Festival Awards

Cate Blanchett attended the ‘Truth’ Fellowship special presentation gala during the BFI London Film Festival on Saturday (October 17) in London, England before attending the London Film Festival Awards, where she picked up the BFI Fellowship Award.

‘Truth’ Fellowship Special Presentation Gala: I’m sure your reaction to Cate wearing this Schiaparelli Fall 2015 Couture velvet and floral dress was, “this is more like it”. Cate was back to her regal, breath-taking, you-can’t-touch-this best. This is the wow moment I have been waiting for since she started this promo tour. The look was styled with Roger Vivier ‘Dorsay’ pailettes pumps.

London Film Festival Awards: High with happiness from her first look, my initial reaction to seeing Cate in this Alexander McQueen gown was also positive, but on closer inspection I think the fit is way off around the hips and even worse from the back. This is quite surprising for a McQueen piece.

Cate Blanchett In Proenza Schouler – The Academy Of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences New Members Reception

Cate Blanchett In Proenza Schouler - The Academy Of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences New Members Reception

Cate Blanchett wore her third black and white look of the day while attending The Academy Of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences new members reception at Winfield House on Wednesday (October 14) in London, England.

Showing a rare slice of skin, the actress wore a Proenza Schouler cut-out dress distinguished by frothy ruffle detailing from the Spring 2016 collection.

While this continues to puts Cate back on track when it comes to interesting looks, I’m still missing that Blanchett wow-factor.

Am I alone, or just expecting too much?

Cate Blanchett In Esteban Cortazar – ‘Carol’ London Film Festival Screening

Cate Blanchett In Esteban Cortazar - 'Carol' London Film Festival Screening

Following her very disappointing showing at the photocall, Cate Blanchett joined Rooney Mara for the screening of ‘Carol’ during the BFI London Film Festival at the Odeon Leicester Square this evening (October 14).

Climbing back to form, the actress dazzled onlookers wearing a black and white cape dress from Esteban Cortazar’s Spring 2016 collection.

The stand-out piece possessed all the drama and intrigue we expect from Cate, but my feeling is some might not be so enamoured.

If that’s the case look at the images below which show that the gown is much more impressive in movement than stationary.

Has anyone else noticed that since promoting this movie Cate has adopted Rooney’s style of only wearing black, white or black and white?

Cate Blanchett In Givenchy - 'Carol' London Film Festival Photocall

Cate Blanchett joined Rooney Mara for the photocall for their latest movie,’ Carol’ during the BFI London Film Festival at Soho Hotel this afternoon (October 14).

Much like Rooney, I was left bitterly disappointed by Cate’s red carpet look.

Givenchy silk lace PJs, a black blazer and limp hair? It’s like she just couldn’t be bothered to make an effort.

Cate Blanchett In Aouadi Couture – ‘Carol’ New York Film Festival Premiere

Cate Blanchett In Aouadi Paris Couture - ‘Carol’ New York Film Festival Premiere

Cate Blanchett joined Rooney Mara for the premiere of ‘Carol’ during the 53rd New York Film Festival on Friday (October 9).

The actress wore a custom creation inspired by Yacine Aouadi’s first Fall 2015 Couture collection.

The elegant silhouette embroidered with tone on tone jet tube petals is what we expect from Cate, but the sheer tulle neckline and sleeves embroidered with trompe-l’oeil tattoos threw me through a loop at first, but I have to say this bold choice grew on me quickly.

Thoughts?
