Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Kate Hudson in Alexander McQueen - 2013 Golden Globe AwardsKate Hudson channeled her inner drama queen for the 2013 Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

The actress covered up in a black Alexander McQueen with long sleeves and a slight train. The flash of skin came into play with a significant keyhole-shaped detail.

The look was at once Victorian and vampy with its gold-leaf embellishment at the waist and the intense metallic collar piece,  although Kate’s long blonde locks covered much of it and muted the impact.

She did smartly keep her makeup on the more minimal side; anything else would have been far too costume-y.

A gold Roger Vivier ‘Boite de Nuit’ clutch completed her look.

Sienna Miller In Erdem - 2013 Golden Globe AwardsEverything was coming up flowers for Sienna Miller at the 2013 Golden Globe Awards, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

‘The Girl’ actress brought the lightness of spring to the chilly “California cold” red carpet with her Erdem design that was positively blooming with Crayola-like, pastel floral appliqués.

She paired the dress with Giuseppe Zanotti shoes.

Sienna seems to be on a sweet streak; she just wore a similarly flirty Valentino number to the BAFTA Los Angeles 2013 Awards Season Tea Party.

But from the girly aesthetic of her Golden Globes dress and the loose top that seemingly added heft to Sienna’s slim frame to her cluster of Van Cleef & Arpels earrings and her severely swept-back hair, it was all a rather unexpected look for this Best Actress nominee.

Jessia Chastain in Calvin Klein - 2013 Golden Globe AwardsJessica Chastain smiled brightly on the 2013 Golden Globe Awards red carpet at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

Nominated for Best Actress in ‘Zero Dark Thirty,’ she opted for a lighter moment from all-American designer Calvin Klein.

In what can only be described as sea-foam, the watery shade of her backless halter gown was pretty, as were her sparkling Harry Winston jewels.

But the silhouette of the dress was less impressive. The revealing bodice seemed a bit ill-fitting and not so figure-flattering.

Her flame-red hair will forever be a gorgeous color (especially with any shade of blue or green), but I wasn’t crazy about the severe style, slicked back at the crown of her head.

Taylor Swift In Donna Karan Atelier – 2013 Golden Globe Awards

Taylor Swift continued her flawless Harry Styles breakup tour at the 2013 Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California on Sunday.

Following her gorgeous appearance at the People’s Choice Awards, the ‘Best Original Song’ nominee wore Donna Karan Atelier gown.

Her body contouring taffeta gown with a sexy low back and dramatic train is not only refreshing, but her best look to date.

The dark-plum colour is something we haven’t yet seen on Taylor, given that it’s not a neutral or her signature red, so I hope she continues to experiment with more dramatic looks like this in the future.

A sleek Grace Kelly-inspired updo and stunning earrings complete the look.

Single looks good on Miss Swift.

Marion Cotillard In Christian Dior Couture - 2013 Golden Globe AwardsBest Actress nominee Marion Cotillard also brought a twist on red-carpet-red to the 2013 Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

Like Jennifer Lawrence, the ‘Rust and Bone’ star wore Christian Dior Couture. But her asymmetrical, blood-orange dress, clipped up to her knee on one side, was a far more casual entrance.

Her pointy stiletto may have been a bit too matchy-matchy, though.

With simple, straight hair and barely there makeup, the French actress might have benefited from a bit more sizzle.

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Couture - 2013 Golden GlobesJennifer Lawrence has definitely catapulted to front-and-center status in Hollywood, and the 2013 Golden Globe Awards red carpet is just one of many for her this season.

After a series of hit or miss looks lately, Jennifer clad herself in a Christian Dior Fall 2012 Couture gown (natch) for the show at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

Since she is the new face of Dior, we saw this one coming. But at least the dress was red-carpet-red and not black.

A metallic belt and Ferragamo box clutch served as this Best Actress nominee’s main form of bling.

The structured corsetry, cinched waist and sweeping ball gown skirt is reminiscent of Dior’s “New Look” of the late ’40s, mixed with some ’90s Madonna funk via a strapless, cone-bra-inspired bodice.

What do you think of this Dior fusion?
