Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Carrie Underwood returned to the ‘American Idol’ stage on Thursday evening for a very dramatic performance of her new single ‘Blown Away’ which is the title track of her new album.

The country singer, who found fame on the show, wore a Theia Spring 2012 bridal gown.

Her stylist customized the gown with a thigh-high split by adding chiffon accents on the shoulder and a black sash to the waist.

In a further attempt to lose the bridal feel of the original look, the singer added GIO DIEV grey ostrich velvet and black patent sandals with black lacquer Samurai heels to give the look an edge.

Do the modifications improve this look for you? Or do you prefer the presented version?

Carrie Underwood graces the cover for Glamour’s June 2012 US issue wearing a coral Rochas shirt dress.

The country singer is taken out of her comfort zone, fashionwise, as Ben Watts captures her wearing Isabel Marant, Tory Burch, L’Wren Scott and Marc Jacobs with not a single sequin in sight.

She talks to Glamour about her new album, the songwriting process and she talks about her relationship being in the public eye.

You can read the whole interview over at Glamour.com. Below are some extracts.

On her new album, Blown Away: “There’s a happy-go-lucky feeling to some of it: A nice spring day, put the top down, turn it up, enjoy the world. But there’s a darker feeling too. We kill a couple people. It wouldn’t be a Carrie Underwood album without a revenge song on it. People really like when I do that. I don’t mean to. I don’t hate men that much. But it turns out so well!” Read more…

Carrie Underwood gave us no surprises when she walked the red carpet for the 2012 Academy of Country Music Awards, which were held on Sunday in Las Vegas, Nevada.

She did look gorgeous wearing an Abed Mahfouz strapless gown with embellished details and a thigh-high split.

Diamond jewelry and Oscar de la Renta silver peep-toe platform pumps accessorized the look.

Beauty-wise she opted for large curls, dark eye makeup, and a shimmering coral lip colour.

Carrie does look great, but I feel like we’ve been there and done this gown several times before.

Carrie Underwood attended the Nordstrom Symphony Fashion Show in Nashville, Tennessee on Tuesday.

The singer, who is known for her love of embellishments much like fellow country star Taylor Swift, opted for a sequin-free Oscar de la Renta Spring 2012 gown for the occasion.

Her navy gossamer v-neck gown was teamed with a black jewel buckle belt and a complementary Oscar de la Renta ‘Cara’ vanity sequin case.

I guess you can’t really rely on a country girl to really go sequin-free. They do like to dazzle, and who can blame them.

Carrie stuns with flawless, neutral makeup and a side swept updo, whilst adding statement jewels and navy peep-toes to complete her look.

Watch out, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood might be after your crown as ‘Queen of Sequined Gowns’.

The country star hit the red carpet at the 2012 Grammy Awards in a Gomez-Gracia gown covered in silver sequins.

The long-sleeved gown showed off a little skin with an open back, but was relatively covered up, especially for the Grammy Awards.

Carrie wore her hair in a swept-back messy ponytail, and accessorized with diamond earrings and a Rene Caovilla clutch.

The contrasting black clutch is too heavy for this look.
